When I pointed out that my choices were to trust them to tell me if it was done wrong (hahaha) or accept the fact that even if correctly installed, the product is crap, I got a shoulder shrug. They couldn't care less. I've been doing business with them since the 80's when Doug Eyer ran the Pullman store. These jack wagons don't give a wit about customer retention or standing by the products they sell. They obviously have all the business they want. Take yours elsewhere. Terrible shop.

Winding Waters River Expeditions surpassed all of our expectations. We wanted our young son to know the canyon and the river where his father had spent time as a child, a place so dramatically different from the Deep South where our son was born and raised. We wanted an experience that would provide memories for a lifetime, stories that no one would be able to match, if only because few people journey to this part of the Snake River to experience its wild and scenic beauty. What makes WWRE the best in their business are the people. From my initial call to ask about three day vs. four day trips (BIG TIP HERE... you will regret anything less than a 4 day trip, especially if you are traveling from anywhere in the eastern/southern U.S.; trust me on this!), to the Cessna plane flying out of the canyon to return us to Joseph, every detail has been thought of and considered. We enjoyed mouthwatering food for every single meal, locally grown and harvested, our personal farm to table restaurant for 4 days. They are dialed and it shows! Great mix of options with something for everyone. We did a combination of relaxing on the beaches, swimming, fishing, and hiking. During the day, some of us stayed in the rafts with the guides and others ventured out in inflatable kayaks. This was a first whitewater experience for some of our group and they felt very safe and gained a ton of skills! The food was excellent too -- how often does someone cook you salmon and pineapple upside down cake while you sit in the river?! 10/10 would recommend.

The fly fishing I do is rivers, not lakes, so didn't know what I needed or where to start. I talked with a very nice man named Bo. He was super helpful, explained what I needed to bring, the weight of the rod, the sinking weight of the line & the technique for sinking flies in big lakes. I ask for some flies and he mailed me a very nice box filled with wet flies & some sinking leaders. So.... went fishing & OMG!!!! you would not believe the fish we caught using the flies Bo sent us. Meals cooked by the guides were creative, nutritious, and plentiful for hungry paddlers. The guides were extremely knowledgeable about the entire length of the river, which was greater than 100 miles. They know how to attack each obstacle to provide a high level of adventure while doing it safely. All of the staff were well educated and friendly. They all had an amazing general knowledge of botany, zoology, geography, and natural history. If an individual guide could not answer your question, they were quick to research it in their extensive library or consult other guides. This trip was a reunion for me in 17 of my West Point classmates. The guides did an amazing job of making it entertaining, enjoyable and memorable.

We saw a few people get drunk, beligerant, and not wearing PFDs across the river one day. Some of the other river guide companies do not operate a tight ship. I'm so glad we went with OARS because my stress level was zero other than the rapids. The 5-day down the Snake River was perfect as you really get into the groove of rafting that 3rd day. I just wish I could have stayed on the river longer!
