I haven't been to REI in a while so I was unaware that they opened up a new building dedicated to…read moreaction sports only: biking, skiing, snowboarding, etc. It was a nice surprise to have more options and to have the extra space to roam around. Since REI is located in an industrial street, there are many parking spots available for this building and the main building. My husband and I took our snowboards to get waxed. This time around, we opted to pay for the hot wax as opposed to their free machine wax. The hot wax is usually $36 each but they were having a promo that it's half off until March. We went on a Saturday mid-afternoon and it took only about 20 minutes. I also wanted to buy some new boots and I put my name down on the sign up sheet on the clipboard. I was the next one in line and thought the wait wouldn't be too long but I still ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seen. It seemed there was only one guy dedicated to the boot fitting area. After a while, I ended up approaching another worker and thankfully he said he was able to help me out. *Tip if you're going for boot fitting: put your name down on the list but also just ask anyone with a green vest to see if they can help you out so you don't end up unnecessarily waiting a while. I'd like to give Mike a huge shoutout for helping me find the right boots! He was so personable and he took the time to explain what I should feel. He suggested I put insoles in my boots because I have flatter feet and it made a whole difference, so I really appreciate that. Overall, we had a great experience and received wonderful customer experience between getting our boards waxed, fitting for my new boots, and checking out.

Shopping in San Diego, California…read more.. My cousins didn't have many shopping requests, but REI was one of them. We don't have REI in Hawaii, so I was game. REI stands for Recreation Equipment, Inc. Most of the merchandise seems to be geared towards camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. I saw tents, sleeping bags, campfire cooking equipment, sunglasses, clothing, shoes, bags, first aid kits, and more! My cousin was so happy to find a pair of name brand flip flops for half off (around $50). My other cousin bought some dry-fit clothing. As long as they're happy, right? They are literally Happy Campers! =D

When I paid, they charge me the full price for the socks and not fifty percent off as advertised. I uploaded the picture in case you wanna see the price they charged and the advertising price. After that, I grabbed some items from the 70% percent off, samples rack, and the cashier say that they were not seventy percent off and that people always misplaced things. I advise the manager to have somebody check that rack since there were many items that did not belong to the rack. The manager and the teller told me that it was my responsibility to check that you should say samples on the label and that it was not the responsibility to be checking to see if they are correct. How would they expect me to know that? They kept insisting that it was my responsibility to find out that those items were not seventy percent off. I asked for a discount sonce they were false advertising since they do not care in checking and the manager did not wanna give me any discount at all. The Manager did not agree to be responsible for the mislabeled on the items. She said that it is the customer responsibility, and the customer service is not always right, as the Manager told me. I am very disappointed.

I was shopping around and helped me find a men's medium size jacket and first told me they were all sold out. Definitely not what I wanted to hear. But right before I walked out he told me to follow him and found one misplaced in a different location and made my night. So i decided to buy a lot from this store thanks to the great customer service from Ruben. Flor was at the register and was able to help me pay for all my cloth and walked out spending alot of money from just looking keep up the great work. Awesome team and will definitely be back.

If you're new to this trail/hike, I would recommend the north trail. The south trail can be a bit confusing and you may get lost if you're inexperienced. Parking: I take a little shortcut and I park closer to Park Village elementary school and there's a little parking lot area roundabout that you can park in. Plenty of little trails , little critters, and people riding their horses through. A calming sight to see. there is good amount of water during the summertime when I went. Hiking shoes are not needed. When you get to the waterfall, there's plenty of rocks you can climb onto and it's pretty fun. Dog friendly, but make sure they're on a leash during the trail.

The round trip from one end to the other was just under 12 miles. From the east, you start at Canyonside Community Park. The parking spaces closest to the trailhead were adjacent to baseball field #8 so keep that in mind. You can actually take one of two parallel trails westward, one north of the creek bed and one south of the creek bed, towards the "waterfall" which was about a three-mile distance. I have done both before with different groups of friends. There was quite a bit of shade on certain parts of the trek. You will need to watch out for dung as horse riding was permitted on the trails. The waterfall was an area of boulders where the creek has flowing water that descends maybe 20 feet over a distance of about 50 yards. At this junction, you can cross the creek from the north trail to the south trail or vice versa to head back east to Canyonside Community Park. I have never gone west of the waterfall, but one of these days I will do so or start from the Sorrento Valley side and head eastward. If you like a long hike without much elevation, then this will be for you.
