I had to buy a kick stand since it doesn't come with the bike and it came loose , so I came today to have it fix and wanting to return the white lucky cat water bottle bike holder since I found the black one somewhere else where it's sold out. Chris acknowledge me since he was busy with a customer, apologizing that I had to wait and fixed the bike stand , took off the cat water bottle holder, put air in my tires, adjusted my seat, height and put the phone holder I never got originally? On that note... gotta give that credit to Kelly, who noticed I didn't have one and I told her I brought it up when I bought the bike Wednesday ? I am often at this REI trying to find outdoor gear and supplies…read more I think I have figured out the layout of this place now so I know which sections to head to for my needs. Just also know that all their bike stuff is located in another building, so dont be disappointed. Its cool to have another building just for bikes and bike related gear. This REI also has a lightly used section. I do go and check out whats on offer there, but so far haven't found anything that works. The thing with REI is that you have to want the thing thats carried in the store and nowadays with so many options, REI won't always carry I what I need specifically... Case in point, cavers need specialized equipment as our needs are different than say climbers or canyoneerers. Yes, some things might be shared, but in general, cavers have very special needs. But, today, when I came in here, I did find a quick link I needed so that worked out nicely. I am also a runner and finally decided I need a fanny pack (I hate how the 80s and 90s ruined this item for me), so I also got one that was small enough that would be perfect for my runs. Service is always great here, very friendly and staff always trying to help. I like also that this REI has a community board in the back and I like to check out whats on offer locally. Really wonderful to have this REI here in Kearny Mesa, super convenient and I can go Asian grocery shopping right after! Win win!

Sometimes it's intimidating, as a female, to go into serious sporting/outdoors stores because people are often judgey, but this place was SO welcoming and had the best vibes because of these men! 100% this will be my go-to outdoorsy store because of the great customer service! We looked at their binoculars called "nocs," and they were REALLY good quality, and pretty! They came in different color options! I ended up buying 2 pairs, a green and a blue, and I am in love!! I'm going to use them for bird watching. They also sell everything you can imagine for rock climbing, camping, outdoors cooking, maps, and more. Definitely coming back!

So for the past year basically, I've been researching and demo-ing boards cause I like to try before I buy. This past weekend I actually got to try some Torq boards and fell in love with the 7'2 modfish. I even saw someone out in the lineup with a beautiful blue version of it so I pulled the trigger. I had no idea how popular Torq surfboards were because I was calling shop after shop and the answer was the same "Sorry we're all sold out but the next batch coming in is XX date". I feel extremely lucky to happen upon this shop because what were the chances they'd have the exact BRAND, MODEL, SIZE, and COLOR??? Plus it was like one of the last ones (if not, the last one) in stock at the store. The universe has answered my wishes. The staff was super friendly and easy to talk to as well!

When I paid, they charge me the full price for the socks and not fifty percent off as advertised. I uploaded the picture in case you wanna see the price they charged and the advertising price. After that, I grabbed some items from the 70% percent off, samples rack, and the cashier say that they were not seventy percent off and that people always misplaced things. I advise the manager to have somebody check that rack since there were many items that did not belong to the rack. The manager and the teller told me that it was my responsibility to check that you should say samples on the label and that it was not the responsibility to be checking to see if they are correct. How would they expect me to know that? They kept insisting that it was my responsibility to find out that those items were not seventy percent off. I asked for a discount sonce they were false advertising since they do not care in checking and the manager did not wanna give me any discount at all. The Manager did not agree to be responsible for the mislabeled on the items. She said that it is the customer responsibility, and the customer service is not always right, as the Manager told me. I am very disappointed.

The trail I went on was well worn and went through canyon and up the hill towards the Qualcomm parking lot and down the hill on path leading back the parking lot off Sorrento Valley Blvd. on the west side of the preserve. It was a very nice walk and hike. In the canyon, there were a lot of beautiful Californian live oak trees, Californian Sycamores, and Freemont Cotton Woods, not to mention a lot of native shrubs and flowering plants. I was surprised to find wild squash vines fruiting in many places near the seasonal stream. I enjoyed the paths when they found their way through the shade of all the giant trees. I do look forward to exploring more of the canyon and what has to offer. The next hike will be to the seasonal waterfall.
