I dropped in for quick bite at lunch because it is known that Camino Real set the standard for Mexican food in town. Oh how the mighty have fallen. I arrived, was seated promptly and the server showed shortly after a took my drink order. The chips and salsa arrived and the salsa was bland(a sign of things to come.) Sorry but this place is not what people think. For a Mexican restaurant it's missing the sazón. No flavor on anything, the green chili enchiladas ain't enchiladas they are just tortillas rolled and smothered in tomatillo sauce. Between the Horrible service, extremely water down Pitch of Margaritas, and Terrible server I'm struggling to find anything nice to say at all which is never like me. I would recommend you go any where else but here for Mexican. The salsa is not great, the queso is okay, chips normal for a cheaper Mexican restaurant. I got the Nachos which were okay. The Cilantro was fresh and portions large. Also, they did get our order correct which was not an easy order. Other than that everything was below par for any restaurant I have been to in the Dickson area. Oh, and the Waitress sat down at a booth down from us and stared at us but refused to come check on us, so we decided not to waste our time on ordering anything else. read more

This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant in Dickson....possibly anywhere!! I even had Mexican food in Texas that didn't hold a candle next to Camino! The restaurant is stylish, pleasant, and clean. You are welcomed the moment you walk in the door. The waitstaff that takes you to your seat give you your menu and takes your drink order. Shortly after you are served their awesome chips and salsa. Now, the hard part. Trying to decide which of their fantastic dishes to order. There are so many wonderful items on the menu you can't go wrong no matter what you choose! I can never stay away from Mexican food long. This place is a favorite! Everything is always super fresh and tastes great. The food is never runny (some places let all the juice and stuff run together on the plate and everything gets soggy very fast). Staff is wonderful and friendly! They always treat us like family. I'm not sure what possessed us to go to a Mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo. To be honest, we set out for another restaurant which happened to be closed, and not only was Camino Real close, but we had fond memories of our last visit.  The food was very good, as it was our last time here. I had Chile Colorado which was excellent, and my partner had the Special Dinner, which consisted of a taco, an enchilada, a chile poblano, a tamale, a chalupa ,and rice and beans. It was a LOT of food and he didn't finish the plates (there were two.) The drinks arrived quickly, as did the food, and our server (Edwin, I believe) was great. The only thing wrong was the lack of social distancing. We were seated at a table right up front where the "to go" people mixed with the "trying to pay and leave" eat in diners, and many of those were not wearing masks. Two cash registers are not enough for this popular a place, and the "to go" folks definitely need a segregated place to congregate while waiting for their food. I don't like walking in and having to wait until the manager is done with his personal phone call to help us and then having to deal with a grumpy waiter. Kinda stinks! This place is kinda small and if you're looking for a quiet romantic place to take the wife, this is NOT the place for you. It's cramped and having a large party was not exactly easy. You're started off with some excellent chips and salsa and of course, we asked for guacamole. Where were the tomatoes? Onions? Cilantro? It was overly salty and lacking so much. We all decided on burritos. I ordered the burrito fajita and my husband and friend had the burrito verde. The only difference was that the burrito verde had a chunky verde sauce on top and came stuffed with shredded pork. The burrito fajita gives you the choice of chicken or steak and is covered in a creamy cheese sauce. The burrito fajita was phenomenal and my three stars are dedicated to that piece of Mexican perfection. The boys loves the burrito verde. All in all, even with the crappy service and cramped quarters, I'd still give it a four stars. Dickson isn't exactly known for variety and I was actually surprised at how good my food was. I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life at a Camino Real restaurant. I have been coming to this restaurant for 9 years. I have always had a great experience with this location until tonight specifically dealing with Audrey. We called to place a to go order and my husband ordered something new he has never ordered before. I get to the restaurant, pick it up, and it was made incorrectly. I called to let them know it was made incorrectly and I was told it would be corrected and I was on my way back to the restaurant to pick up the replacement. I called back once more before I arrived to verify it was made correctly. The person who answered, named Audrey, told me rudely I would have to bring the food made incorrectly back to the restaurant. I was already two minutes away and told her I did not have it with me. She said "Too bad. If you want the new food you will have to bring the old food back." I called my husband and he brought the food up to the restaurant while I waited for the new food to be made. I spoke with Carlos, a manager who has been dealing with us for all these years, and he made sure everything was resolved. I elaborated on how rude Audrey was to me and how she also answered the phone when I was in mid conversation with her at the counter. We will sadly never come to this restaurant again. read more

Love this place- consistently great service, amazing food, great drinks, etc. They are always busy, but we've never had to wait more than 2 or 3 minutes for a table. The portion sizes are also quite large, which most people consider a pro. I always have leftovers, so the price seems to be well worth the portions. read more

Me and my boyfriend went out to eat here today. We had a waitress with dark brown/black hair, and she was nice at first...until he ordered some tacos and the flour tortillas tasted off somehow. Well, he had asked politely to get it swapped out for corn when she came over and she just made a face, grabbed the tacos, and walked away. We were stunned as we are both full time servers too. After somebody else brought the new tacos out we ate and talked about desert. She was MIA until 15 minutes later when she returned with the check. She didn't give us time to ask about boxes, or order a dessert, and I wanted another Pina colada. But we just paid and left a bunch of leftovers there on the table. I am so sad as we only get such limited time off and this was supposed to be an enjoyable meal. This was also the first time I have ever, and I mean in my entire life, not tipped 25%. Plenty of food choices! We've been here a few times with family. I love how much room is inside. It doesn't look very big from the outside because it is in a strip mall type space but it is very roomy inside. I don't enjoy cramped restaurants that make you feel like you can't move an inch without bumping into your neighbor. I chose the combo with a hard shell taco, a beef enchilada, rice, and beans. The taco had a generous amount of ground beef and the shell was crunchy and fresh. They gave me a choice of cheese sauce or something else on the enchilada. They had me at cheese sauce so I don't even know what the other one was but I made the right choice. The enchilada was very good. The rice and beans were good also. The service was great. The food came out fast and our drinks were never empty. The only thing I would change is their wine selection. They serve Barefoot wines in a glass but they are poured from the little plastic bottles you buy at the liquor store. I have no problem with wine in the little bottles but Sutter Home would be a much better selection. read more

As my Spanish excerpt said (I speak enough to be dangerous) "the food is good but the service is so-so." It all starts with the chips & salsa, and although there's is not the worlds greatest, it is extremely good. They serve all of the what I call the "American Mexian" staples along with some delicious specialty dishes. Everything I have gotten here has always been well prepared and full of flavor. I have no particular favorite here, but I do find myself gravitating to their chicken entrees. They have a great lunch menu but don't go here looking for a fast lunch as they can be very slow. Really not a lot to review here as everything is good... by far the best Mexican food in Dickson. I have a little advice while eating here, and this is for any Mexican restaurant; order the "steak" instead of the ground beef and the "grilled chicken" instead of the shredded chicken... there will be an up-charge but it is more than worth it (you can thank me later) read more

The best Mexican in Dickson. I live thirty minutes away. Ten minutes from Don Chuy's (Mazatlan people) and have no qualms about driving the extra time to have good Mexican food. I usually get the pollo con queso and add mixed vegetables and can take the leftovers for lunch the next day! I go there quite frequently and have never had a reasonable complaint about the service there. read more
