We enjoyed hearty portions of stuffed cabbage and Lamb Rice Pilaf that didn't break the bank. The humus we started with was of good quality and included an ample amount of bread. I've had, and in fact often track down Uzbek fare in Hells Kitchen in NYC, as well as on The Northside in Chicago. They have a lot of J Visas (summer work visas) from the "Stans" throughout the Florida Panhandle and Myrtle, so it's great to see some Russian/"Stan" fare come out of that. It's no frills, with some ambiance, but the food is very good and much better quality than most of the fried stuff here. Add this one to your Myrtle List along with Old Vienna and Mrs. Fish.

This hidden gem is located on Kings Hwy, with exotic decor inside and many big tables for large group dining. I went there two times during my three-day visit to MB. Tried their Grilled quails, Uzbek bread, Uzbek mushroom soup, and of course, Lamb pilaf. Overall, the seasoning of dishes are not as heavy as most restaurants, but more homemade-style, especially the grilled stuff like that quail and side of veggie. Simple, not salty, but full of the flavor from the ingredients -- the umami of quail meat, the sweetness of peppers, sweet-bitterness of brussels sprouts, etc. The staff told me that his mom cooked the food lol. For other things, the Uzbek bread look like a huge bagel, had very desne texture, but its outside was crispier than bagels. The mushroom soup had a special flavor from possibly some herbs. The Lamb pilaf was delicious and filling: six chuncks of fork-tender meat, lots of perfectly cooked rice soaked in lamb fat, and refreshing carrot slices. I wish there could be yellow carrots as well, but the staff told me that it was difficult to get them in MB. The restaurant undoubtedly did not have a "good" dining vibe for me because it was too quiet. In fact, I was the only customer in the restaurant the second time I visited it. I was told that during tourist seasons the restaurant is packed with ppl but I doubt it. Anyway, it is a restaurant worth trying in MB if you are looking for some special dining experience there.

I want to say this is a hidden gem, but it is in plain sight! Great location! I wasn't greeted like…read morea regular first time customer......I was greeted as though I was a family member! Such amazing and warm people! A really GREAT atmosphere! I wandered aimlessly throughout the store while the chef prepared my food of Chicken Shawarma, Hummus, Baba, and fatoush. Inside this treasure, I was met with such a variety of Mediterranean options! The authentic spices to choose from was absolutely incredible! Definitely NOT your big box store selection of low grade spices. The various cheeses, teas, olives, kefir, dry beans, the 'Dubai like' chocolate with pistachio, the various meats and sausages, dried fruit available.....there is way to much to list! You have to check it out for yourself. Now my food that was prepared in the kitchen......the chicken shawarma was absolutely phenomenal! THE BEST I've ever had! So was the hummus! Homemade hummus with a bit of smokey paprika in the middle and a little drizzle of olive oil. The bread was incredible as well!!! I look forward to returning for the Falafel, as well as the Gyro! You know it's delicious when they sell out of the Falafel! But then again, I did arrive less than a hour before they closed! This beautiful establishment was on point!!!! 10/10!

Separate from Habibi's Cafe & Market https://www.yelp.com/biz/habibis-cafe-and-market-myrtle-beach,…read morethis is the market. There is no dining here unless you're snacking on the olives you just bought. Inside what is obviously a converted gas station, the market is a few aisles and coolers and freezers that are nearly all imported tasty goods from overseas. Crackers, chocolates, candies, sauces, canned vegetables and fruits, breads and the like. The coolers are chilled sauces and imported drinks. The freezers have entrees and halal meats. All sorts of brand names I've never heard of and some that are a little familiar. I was very pleased to find a jar of tatamosalata from Kronos (imported from Canada, https://www.yelp.com/biz/krinos-canada-vaughan?hrid=_J8QUrRk-otvmwnhr2t7IA) that went right into the bottom of the fridge in the van. It survived the journey and my wife is most pleased! Friendly service and a packed shop with all sorts of Mediterranean foods! [Review 19390 overall - 964 in South Carolina - 360 of 2023.]

I'm a sucker for shawarma and this one is cooked well. The hummus and pizza were the other items I tasted and they were an A+. The only issue is that the soda drink options have no refills because you have to order by the bottle. If that's my biggest complaint then this plus is alright! Mediterranean is one of those places that can make everyone in the group happy no matter their diet. This restaurant kept up with our hunger and made everyone happy in the group. The cut of the asada steaks was too thick. In my opinion everything was overpriced. As soon as I walked in I got the authentic ambiance of being in a Mexican abarrotes.
