Lanes break down often and balls get really scuffed and stuck. Nice family friendly feel but if you take bowling seriously, go elsewhere.

Don't bring your personal equipment in. They destroyed my brand-new hustler bry. I played 2 games with the ball. The Ball return took 2 big scapes out of my ball. They refunded me my money for the games. Told me they would fix it in a week 10 days later it's ready. Went to pick it up. Sorry I don't know who told you that but it's not here. They had to call and to go find it oh it's not ready yet. Told her to have the owner contact me. She said he would. He didn't so I called in again. He's not here on Saturdays. But will be in on Sunday I'll have him call you. Never called . So I call again. Sorry, that's it it's fixed he told me common practice to fix them like that. That's horrible. Not a good way to run a Business. So I'm out a brand-new ball. Driving there 4 times 43 minutes one-way. Aggravation having to waste my time and calling them. Oh, he will call you. The guy at the front desk was kind when getting us our lane but when we went to get pizza we got in line behind 2 girls and the employee of the food area rudely said "last order" then did a shooing motion at us. They do the disco bowl stuff (see vid) which I could do without but your children might enjoy. I'm sure you haven't bowled in a hot minute, so stop by and beat my high score. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. The "manager" Heather is an awful manager and deserves to be FIRED. I went there a couple weeks ago with a couple of friends. There was a family with younger kids on either side of our lanes next to us and she repeatedly cussed very loud to the point where the whole room would go silent. I used to go there a lot when I was younger and it was so much better before that lady was the manager. When you go to the bar where she worked, she would be just very rude, disrespectful and AWFULLY unprofessional. Everyone I know that has went there has a story about her being rude. I feel as though everyone who I speak to has a story about this place.... specifically the manager of the bar, Heather. Anytime I have gone to the bar it has been a terribly unpleasant experience. She is incredibly rude, makes very snarky and backhanded comments, gives extremely dirty looks, constantly seems to have a nasty attitude, once tried to kick my husband out because he genuinely forgot his ID in the car, (He is nearing his 50s with gray hair, very obviously over 21 but we let it slide), repeatedly curses very loudly when young children are there, and is supposedly is strange with the teenage staff. One of my girlfriend's nieces used to work there and got fired by Heather (who wasn't her employer) for no good reason. The ex-employee told me that Heather used to be oddly close with the children who would come in for an after school program, hugging them for long periods of time, laying with them, and all around being too physically touchy with these CHILDREN as a grown woman. Honestly get unusually creepy feelings from this woman (background check needs to be put in order immediately lol) and I caution anyone who goes there, because I know I will not be returning until that lady is out of there (several friends, family members, coworkers and more agree and will not be making a comeback until Heather is GONE). Other than her, have only had one bad encounter with someone who works there, it was a young man who worked at the front, didn't exactly catch his name, (something along the lines of Carl, Carmen, or Carter) he had short ginger hair and a prominent eye shape. I was speaking to him about a problem that had occurred on the lane my girlfriends and I was on and he seemed to not listen to the concern and just brushed it off (ended up not doing anything about it and had to ask the other young man at the front desk for help). Other than those 2 workers, everyone else I have spoken to has been nice and very helpful! My buddy and I came in to practice for League Monday November 4th. We bowled 5 frames and went to the bar to get a beer my buddy ordered and she asked for both our id's which we were pulling out and my buddy says oh I know that guy referring to the guy upfront and the blonde bartender lady said, "as a bartender I don't give a shit who you know that doesn't matter to me." And my buddy said "it's a joke I don't know him" as we show her our id. She then walks over and asks him if he knows us and carry's on and on about it to which we have nothing to say so we walk away and sit down and our buddy's come in to meet us there to bowl. We tell them the story and how the bartender was extremely rude for the 60 seconds we spoke to her which her comment about being a bartender got me because I have been a server since I was 16 years old and a bartender since I was 21 and I never felt the need to speak to people like that. But after we told them the story they went to get a beer and they said wouldn't it be funny if we said "I know that guy" which they did and she didn't check any of their IDs came down and asked if I had a problem to which a responded no then she looked at my friend said the same thing and he also said no we laugh it off because it wasn't really a big deal to which she starts chewing my friend out and said we sent people up to say something which they did on their own will then when we didn't seem interested in arguing with her she turned around and shut off our lane. I am not looking for anything for this I just want to say I am very disappointed being in the service Industry my self and being a league bowler I get someone not liking a joke but to not let people bowl any more over saying "I know that guy" I think your bartender has some growing up to do before she should be allowed to work with the public. Hope you have a good day and find some better staff ! I never got the young ladies name but she's about 5'1 and a white blonde woman. I do not recommend this establishment at all! Their even coordinator Heather is an unhinged, egotistical person who does not follow through on her communication. overcrowded w/ kids at b/d parties, appeared to be overbooked, very crowded, the lanes were not properly returning balls, had to ask several times during 1 game to get reset. witnessed the blonde that claimed to be an event coordinator "yelled" the F" bomb at parents of one of the children having a b/d party , whatever that situiation was, this should not have led to that , she even followed them into the parking lot continued yelling at them . this was such a bizarre evening, it was my 1st time there , and my last . , in reading other reviews this is pretty commnon for this place, what a shame read more

I will NEVER go to this establishment ever again in my life! I have never been treated as rudely at a place of business as I had been treated at Camelot Lanes last night 1/28/22!!! The blonde female bartender needs to be FIRED and never work with the public again. I asked what kind of beers they had for my brother in law. She was unable to tell me and directed me to a display case full of beer. I am short and the beers on tap were blocking the case so I couldn't see. When I order a draft beer instead of a bottle she refused to serve me the beer. She became very argumentative to the point where we are screaming at each other over a beer-REALLY??? A PAYING CUSTOMER!!!! She then proceeds to dump my other 4 drinks in the trash and chased away a party of 6 who were ready to bowl, drink, and spend money!!! IS IT A RACE THING??? Very disappointing. Went there at 8:30 PM and purchased two games. At 10 PM even though we didn't finish our games, they wanted us to leave because their unlimited bowling for $6 started. No one told us that we would have to leave at 10 when we originally bought our games. Around 9 they came on the microphone and told us anyone under 18 had to be out by 10. Even though we were over 21 and had spent quite a bit of money at their bar, they wanted us to take off our bowling shoes and go wait outside in line to pay $6 for the same lane we were already playing on. Additionally, after trying to tell the staff that no one told us this and that we had open beers, they were very disrespectful and we could see them gossiping at the concession stand which is completely uncalled for. On July 19th, 2022 , Me and my group of friends 8-10 people were refunded and ask to leave the bowling alley. The Bartender disrespectfully yelled in our faces and tried to grab items of our other hands without permission.. this is why. My Boyfriend who is 22 years old purchased a drink; I didn't want one but I am also over 21 as well. She insisted to see my ID but I accidentally left my purse in my car. Remind you I WAS NOT PURCHASING A DRINK NOR DRINKING ONE. So We walked away to our lane and my boyfriend proceeded to roll for his turn. He did not feel comfortable putting his drink on the ground, so i held it. The Bartender decided to come up to our faces and yell asking for my ID and how she have kids to feed , she doesn't have time for our BS. I responded calmly and asked her to calm down also mentioned that I will go to my car and get my ID. She continued to yell and tried to grab the drink out of my boyfriends hand( that he had already purchased). She also caused a scene in front of other guest, making others feel uncomfortable. I went to get my ID from my car and I decided to show two of the staff due to her temper and disrespect. She decided to try and snatch my ID out of my hand and asked me to leave. Me and Friend respectfully waited for our refund and left with respect. My original review was a bit confusing... I didn't mean to suggest go somewhere else because there's lots of kids. It was actually fine to have kids there, the groups that wanted to drink beer and play pool were fine. I just thought people might like to know that its a family environment too. The suggestion to go somewhere else is more about if you really care about bowling you'd probably get frustrated with the mechanical issues. But they say they're looking into it! read more

Bowling at Camelot Lanes in Boardman, Ohio was an affordable and pleasant experience. I went on 11/29/2014 thinking it would be packed on a Saturday night but I was able to get a lane pretty fast (maybe they weren't as busy since it was the Thanksgiving holiday). Camelot is easy to get to (right off 224) and has plenty of parking. Within ten minutes, our bowling party of 6 had their shoes laced up, names on the screen, and were ready to bowl (getting situated was easy and quick). I was happy to see how affordable the prices were; I pay nearly double where I bowl back home (Arlington VA). The Camelot team was responsive to the few requests we had (taking the gutters down and providing a bowling ramp for my 3 year old nephew) completing everything with good manners and a smile. The food was actually pretty good too! I've been to other bowling establishments where the food was very expensive and the portions were small but Camelot provided great food at reasonable prices. I prefer Camelot when I travel to Youngstown because of the environment it provides for bowlers throughout all walks of life. I would feel comfortable taking my family there and I'd also be comfortable meeting up with a few friends to drink and bowl. Good balance of fun bowling in a clean and relaxed environment. Only con was the music choice: everything was modern pop songs. A jukebox variety from the 70's 80's 90's, 2000's would have made the experience nicer. read more

I wanted to have a bowling birthday party for my 7 year old grandson and chose Camelot Lanes. It was a last minute idea and I had the pleasure of talking to Bob the owner. He was a pleasure to talk to and he advised on the best value package for our party. All eight of us enjoyed bowling! We ordered pizza, wings and fries. Everything was good. The adults were able to have drinks and there is also plenty of arcade games and pool tables. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend. read more

We had a birthday party for my 5 year old boy this past weekend. We were all very excited for it and we were under the impression that it was going to be a very easy two hour party. It was not. I was told when booking the party that we were not allowed to bring in food for the adults because there is a concession stand I was fine with this policy. However during my party there were other birthday parties bring in containers of wings and sandwiches. This wouldn't have been and issue either if the concession stand didn't take 35 mins to make a pretzel for one of my adult guests. Half the items on their menu were also out of stock. The only thing available was pizza. Which came with my package and was delivered to our children 20 minutes past the scheduled time for them to eat. It is important that everything stays on schedule because once your two hours are up they are practically pushing you out the door. our party was scheduled from 2 to 4 and the lanes were off at 4:05. The manager on duty actually came to our children and yelled at them for continuing to bowl when none of use were aware the lane were shut off. ( yelled at 5 year olds) instead of grabbing a parent or the party host. I know all of this happened because I witnessed it with my own eyes. When I followed the manager to approach her about it she muttered under her breath "parents can't even watch their own children". I paid for a very expensive party that was supposed to include a hostess. She was with my children and our party for a collective 30 mins of the two hours I paid for. When I came to voice my complaints about our experience everyone looked at me dumbfounded. Not quite sure how to handle it. maybe its a great place to bowl for a Saturday night but do not book an event it will not be worth your money. Very disappointing. read more

I do not recommend using their after school program. Little adult supervision! Allows children to run around unsupervised which caused another child to run into my son who was about to bowl. On 1/6/18 I had my son's birthday party at Camelot Lanes. I made the reservation at least a month prior online and spoke with a Camelot lanes employee via phone and email on more than one occasion confirming everything. With multiple time slots available my first question was "Is cosmic bowling available at the 12-2 slot" the employee told me yes that the league would be gone by then. So I booked it. I proceeded to email Camelot asking could I bring my own cupcakes and would I be able to pay extra for my son to use the flashing bowling ball that wasn't included in my package. I received a reply from Bob Smith stating they could allow that if I was bringing my own cupcakes as a swap. The day of my party came and we showed up and the hostess (Patty) was extremely nice and started the kids bowling shortly after noon with the plans to eat the pizza (because it wouldn't be ready until 1pm)after the hour of bowling, then group picture, game room and presents. I had asked Patty a few times when would the lights be turned out and she mentioned the league was still bowling, 20minutes into bowling she suggested I go down to talk to the supervisor. I was told the same "as soon as the league is done we will shut them off" I explained that is not what was promised I would like to speak to a manager. 30 minutes into my son's party (all of which I was missing dealing with this) the owner Bob Smith decided to emerge from his office to speak with me. He not only stated that his employees would not tell me that but he made fun of the way I stood (I changed my position and did cross my arms) but he repeated the move and said "Oh really, huh" he said we only get a hour of cosmic bowling at which I replied, " I know but my hostess has already started the kids bowling" and the rest of the timeline is planned out. he said we will turn them off when the league is done. he was rude when asking what he wanted me to have done and would not make it right. he wouldn't extend the bowling time they had missed not being cosmic. My question to him was "why would I email you asking to use a flashing ball had I not been told that cosmic bowling was available" he walked away. Had I been told there was a possibility that there was a league I would have chosen a different time slot. I wasn't set on the 12-2 slot. I would not advise anyone to give that man or place any money. I do know another party mom was also disappointed that day as she paid for her daughter's name to be on the sign at the road at which it never was. This bowling alley has it all and this man knows it therefore he feels he can treat anyone the way he wants and it won't affect his business. So I am doing my small part and trying to inform others that just because you ask the right questions, have the answer in writing you still don't get what you are promised when dealing with Camelot lanes and it's awful owner Bob Smith. The only reason I gave it any star at all was because Patty the hostess was wonderful. read more

i went to this bowling alley several times the most recent was for a college get together on November 14,2010. my kids, i had a great time there is a little arcade, many lanes available .the staff is very polite, very attentive if you have any concerns don't hesitate to ask, they also have a bar for those who are more into the drinking, friendly get together. it is very moderately priced , well worth the money. it's a great way to have a family get together. read more
