Although it's a tiny shop, it has so much stock, especially leather boots and suit jackets. What I found annoying however was the lack of visible pricing, which means you have to wait around until the sales person is free to answer your "how much is this?" question for the hundredth time. Vintage planet can be found downstairs behind the food stalls in the corridor along the right hand side of the market. Avoid it at weekends because it gets horribly busy, I went on a Thursday morning and practically had the place to myself.

And, the wholesome French approach of the owner, Ms. Kamir, enhanced my visit to Camden market as such a positive one, and I am still smiling remembering the warm welcome from the whole family. The vintage clothes in Camden Market has been overpriced, and yet, scarce to find anything good under the budget. but this Vintage Planet will brings you back to the 80s and 90s the old-time Camden Market. Her clothes are definitely wearable and they are mold/ odor free. And, most of all, it was fun chatting with the vendor, other than looking through her clothes, talking about the punk rock eras and changing scenes, then haggling down the prices without raising eye brows. In all, I will definitely go back to her stores whenever I return to London. And, I highly recommend her store to the vintage lovers of any ange like myself!

There were even a few Picassos for sale in the old wooden booth found on the third floor that is manned by Winston Churchill. If charity shops were animals, this one would probably be a golden retriever. The atmosphere was calm. The clothes seemed a loyal mix of good basics. The furry coat of the store was marigold yellow, and the staff liked a good scratch behind the ears and a nice milk bone. If charity shops were songs, this one would probably be the theme song from Friends, "I'll be there for you." If charity shops were closed, we'd be sad, but if they were clothes, we'd be content. If charity shops were a dinner, they'd be rice pilaf with roasted vegetables. Why? Because I said so, even though Weezer instructed me to 'say it ain't so.'

There are some vintage dresses on a rack up here, but if you're looking for the motherload, you need to go downstairs, where you'll be passing a collection of amazing Ossie Clark dresses on the way down. A word of warning though: only go down if you've the time to spare. There are two rooms of clothes organised by colour and length, with each garment rated on a grade of A to E in accordance to its condition. On the same grading tag is a description of which era the garment comes from, which is something you don't get in most vintage shops in East London. There're also more bags down here too, including several kitschy Barbie hat travel cases. This place isn't cheap, as one might expect. Most dresses were £125 and above. Still, it's definitely a great place to while away an hour or two if you're into vintage!

Kinda like a plane doing thing in the wrong order. Right? Hm. Anyhow. I saw the outside. Up. I walked it. It's smelled a bit like old musty clothing. Down. I found a stellar pair of silver, 1930's markacite-inlaid earrings. UP! The earring were a bit expensive for a charity shop, but they are the real deal, just like Michael Jordan when it comes to basketball. The woman at the counter was also quite helpful. She told me they had their neighbor the jeweler bake them a mince tart, tap dance to Spanish guitar music and then evaluate the earrings. He said they were real silver, 1930's. They shop then sold them for 8 pound. She told me how I could shine them up, where I could find such shining polish and was nice as a button. These earring made it a successful poke (for my earlobes, but not for my slim wallet of course. My wallet frowned, but I chose not to look. It can use a little stretching from time to time just like someone who has a really sore back). I can't tell you that they have such good stuff in the shop all the time- they probably don't, but have something interesting once, leads me to think that bananas have lots of potassium and that they might have something swank again, no?

They have an OK range of shoes and accessories but nothing compared to their Covent Garden or Brick lane stores. I never seem to find anything I like in this Rokit but as with any thrift shop you never really know what you're going to find. I think maybe because it's a small, packed-in shop I can never be bothered to root around or fight my way along the clothes rail whereas in the Covent Garden and Brick Lane stores there's room to manoeuvre.

You'd be better heading to the Stables Market and checking out the range of vintage stalls there. Or go to Beyond Retro in Bricklane which has an incredable selection of Vintage Riff Raff..!

Shady shopkeeper…read more I found a brooch of a rose that I really liked on a dress that was about a foot taller than I was, and asked the woman if I could just purchase the brooch without the dress. She was hesitant, and tried to charge me £18 for it, rather than £12 "Just because I hate to separate it from the dress!" Eventually, as I was getting ready to leave, she goes, "If it makes it easier, I can sell it to you for £12 because that's how much the rest cost!" Gee, THANKS. I then asked how old she suspected the brooch was and she said "oh probably about 1950s, since it came from that dress and thats how old the dress was." I was a bit skeptical, but didn't argue since she'd already put the dress back across the room, and I figured she'd looked at it. About 20 seconds after I left the store, curiousity turned me around and I went back in to check the dress tag anyway. It said 1936. The woman was looking at me, so I explained that I had been curious and wanted to double-check. She goes, from across the room "Oh yeah, it Did say 1930's!" Really? Then why would you tell me it was 20 years older? Weird, really... The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the store did have a decent selection of scarves and pins. Don't trust the owner though, and watch your back.
