I turned off on Emanuel Church Road and again the bus was ahead of me having already made a drop off. That's right, PVPV used to be K-6 all in one building. Very hard to believe. The students graduating this year (2014) have never known NE St. Johns County to not have more than one elementary school. If i was planning to raise little rugrats of my own, I would definitely find a way to live in this part of the county as I would want them to attend this school. I'm sure all the teachers I had have long since retired, but this school still has - and will probably keep - a great reputation. As someone that lives in the neighborhood, the only thing I could complain about would be the traffic in the mornings. But it's really not THAT bad and they've got it down to a science.

The teachers are excellent, the parents are highly involved, and the principal is very skilled at managing the school. She is also accommodating and open to making time to speak to parents. The very active PTO does so much each year to support the efforts of teachers and staff, and to raise additional support for the school.

REVISED.....June 19th 2015 Okay...this is what happened to…read moremy daughter and I. My daughter was happy at her new school, but as time went on we found out that it is the most awful "school." So my daughter, despite the bullying she endured for months, wanted to go back to FCA. I asked Bryan Alvare in early May about my daughter returning to FCA. He kept telling me he was so busy with end of the year stuff and wanted to meet in early June. I did receive a call and an appointment was set. My husband had to go because I had a prior engagement. What he told me blew my mind. He said it was out of his hands and I had to write a letter telling them why I wanted my daughter back at FCA and the board would decide! That is so untrue because Bryan himself has told both my husband and I in the obscene amount of meetings that kids leave and come back all the time. The only way I will write a letter is if I receive a letter of apology for the bullying of my daughter. Because it was not handled by the principal, I had to take my child out and her education was in jeopardy. I feel outraged. I would rather drive 50 miles one way to a school that knows how to handle situations like this when they arise.
