They texted me a polite reminder they were coming that morning, were on time, and notified me of their arrival promptly. The vehicle was impeccably clean, and even had bottled water available if I wanted it! The most courteous driver you could hope for; we had a most pleasant chat to the airport - and despite heavy traffic, and construction blocks - he knew exactly how to get around them without stress. He shared with me that the cab drivers own their vehicles and are responsible for them, which impressed me because it shows their commitment to 'old-fashioned' quality service. I 100% recommend them, and will use them again in the future.

We booked a cab through the app for a ride from Cambridge to south station at 5am. I was concerned…read moreabout not being able to get an Uber/Lyft that early in the morning because there seems to be some sort of supply shortage lately around Boston. I did some research about cab companies around Cambridge/Boston, and Green Cab and Yellow Cab Companies stood out because of its app. The app was intuitive and easy to navigate. You'll need to register for an account, and you'll receive a email confirmation after the ride is booked. You'll also see a fee estimation when you book the ride, but the actual price may vary. On the day, I got a notification inside the app (i had it open) about 15 minutes prior to our schedule pickup time that said a car was assigned to our ride. It tells you the license plate and the driver's info. Once the cab is dispatched, you can track it live on the map. Our cab arrived about 5 minutes earlier than the schedule pick up time. The car has the cab company logo on it so it was easy to find. The driver also gave us a call when he was outside, which was quite nice. Our ride was about $25 before tips and we got to south station in less than 20 minutes. I actually checked Uber price before we headed out and it would have cost $50-$70. You can pay by cash or credit card in the car, or link a credit card in the app. Overall it was a good experience, and I would use Green Cab and Yellow Cab Companies again!

The ride cost me over twice what it should have and when I spoke to the driver about it, he said that the normal route, the one I expected him to take, was always bad at that hour. Not true, Mr. Taxi Driver. That's my neighborhood you are talking about. As we sit here in frozen traffic, more than five miles away from my home, farther away than where you picked me up, I watch the meter go up and up and start feeling my blood pressure boil. Then when Mr. Taxi Driver goes straight past my street, meaning we have to go around the B L O K C adding four more dollars to the fare, I almost lose it. This taxi annoyance is turning into one of my major pet peeves. I don't like being taken advantage of and can only imagine what goes on with the sweet innocent tourists who fly into Logan and ask a cab driver to take them to their hotel. Just bring me home by the direct route, please.

My flight was leaving ASAP, so I had no way to fight the charge. Consumer beware.
