This is an amazing practice with excellent veterinarians! The doctors and staff are excellent with my animals and go out of their way to make sure I'm informed about my pet's treatment and any medications she needs. I had some reservations about a spay surgery after a bad experience at a local clinic. Dr. Aubrey Vena and Dr. Johanna Vena made sure to ease any worries I had and made sure Itty Bitty, my cat, had all the pre-op testing she needed. Her post-surgery care was also impressive. They provided options to make sure her stitches stayed clean and dry, medication for pain and meds to manage her asthma also, all while handling my cat's overdramatic tendencies with ease! Where to begin, they were our primary vet took our senior dog to be looked at for trouble hearing and have nails cut. They said they couldn't test if he was losing his hearing besides slamming a door, they did he didn't react. Our baby didn't like getting his nails trimmed so we would tell them to muzzle him, we were told they would not muzzle him he would have to bring him back a different day and sedate him. We did not want to drug him for a nail trim. He got a growth on his eye and we took him to Greensburg to have to removed, while in their care they found a major ear infection!! On March 1st our baby became very ill we called Cambria Care for him to be seen they are literally 3 blocks from our home. They told us at 2pm they would have to call us back, by 4pm nobody had called we called again. We were told he was on a list and marked as emergent and someone would call us back. 6pm still no call back we called yet a again, this time we were told that he was No longer their patient and we would have to drive him to Greensburg (they closed at 6pm and was an hour drive). So I called another local vet that was open until 8pm to see if maybe they could squeeze him in, they were not accepting new patients and to call the emergency on call vet. When I asked them who that was they said Cambria Care. So we called yet AGAIN told them it was an emergency that we have been calling all day and they were the on call vet, this time we were hung up on. We called back..we were told this time that now they are booked and couldn't fit him in. The morning of March 2nd Somerset Veterinary Hospital came to the rescue they got us in ASAP they opened at 8pm we drove from Johnstown and were there around 9:30 they were amazing from the start. Sadly it was the news we thought we had to say good-bye to our fur baby of 16 years. On March 29th we got a reminder for our baby's shot in the mail from Cambria Care... Now if they couldn't see him and he was NO longer their patient from what they told us, why is he still in your system to get reminders...I'm begging you take your fur babies ANYWHERE else. read more

Personally, Dr. Vena did great with our cats, she fixed our cat's urinary issues and he's been an entirely new healthy and happy cat. However, I took my chinchilla in when he got really sick suddenly...he continued getting sicker so I took him to an exotic specialist outside of town and the exotics vet said that he had been misdiagnosed and had a sad but common fatal disease. If he would have been properly diagnosed, his disease would have been manageable and would had lived longer. I recommend this vet clinic for people with standard pets (cats, dogs, etc) but not exotics. read more

I had a 14 yr old chichauau named rufus. He had a heart murmur was on medication. He started having seizures the vet dr vena never addressed. Sent Rufus home home no follow up. He died 2 days later. I have another 14 yr old exhibits similar symptoms she prescribed the same regime again no follow up. Daisy still has symptoms but I would not trust this veterinary clinic again. Would not recommend it at all. read more

Been a loyal customer since this office opened. My lab got sick and they kept her 3 days charged me almost 900 dollars sent her home with antibiotics and nausea pills. She got worse when we called we got a lecture about our dogs weight and no help. Called again because my dog was dying Dr Vena couldn't be bothered to return my call. Went to another vet they saw her two hours after I called didn't even charge me an emergency fee and found with a few inexpensive tests Cambria didn't run that my dog was in liver failure. She's home and more comfortable she might actually be ok because Johnstown vet gave her the right medication. Dr Vena took my money and left my dog to die in pain. She doesn't care about her clients. read more

This is my first vet visit since moving to Johnstown. It was recommended by the Cambria county humane society. The doctor gave us her recommendation and then told us our other options. I did not feel pressured in any way to choose any option which I appreciate! Even though we sadly chose to put down our old lady, they were very compassionate and even got slightly emotional with us. Great prices, awesome staff! Will defiantly be my go to from now on! read more

Took my GSD for multiple issues which we're all satisfactorily resolved. The staff was courteous but cool, the vet was kind, taking time to explain things. I was satisfied with the care but would think a more friendly atmosphere couldn't hurt. read more

Our chinchilla, Robert Paulson, has received excellent care from Dr. Vena and the staff - they don't mess around here. It's clean, they're friendly, and I was shocked at the affordability. Thought I'd have to go to Pittsburgh to find someone who would care for an "exotic" pet, but I have been so pleased to drive to Cambria City whenever Robert has a need. His signs of distress are very subtle as a prey animal, so they get me in ASAP when I call. We are so thankful for everyone at Cambria Vet Care! read more

Excellent service by Dr. Vena. Had to bring my dog in for an emergency in the evening since our usual vet does not take emergency calls after hours. Dr. Vena was helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate. She dealt very well not only with a very sick dog but also with a very worried owner. I would recommend her to anyone in the area! read more

My girlfriend and I absolutely love Dr Vena. Not only is she an incredibly intelligent woman, but her and her whole staff are amazingly compassionate and caring about their patients. She has treated all of our companions like they where her own, and I am grateful for everything she has and will do for all of my friends in the past and the future. Not that it's that important, but the prices are also extremely reasonable. read more
