The place looks nice from the outside and that is where it ends. Very poor customer service, unkept property, unprofessional staff, shady people working there. You would be better off staying at a Motel 6 or Econo Lodge. I believe the bad reviews about theft and bedbugs. They describe it as upscale and that is very deceiving and untrue. I was treated very poorly by the lady at the front desk. The rooms were late being cleaned because the housekeeping staff was just loitering around going out to smoke every 5 minutes. I travel a lot for work and stay in a variety of hotels so I have experienced not so good and very good and everything in between. This place is the worst I have experienced.

Stayed here for 1 night. I booked in advance before arriving and choose a King Room. Somehow ended up with an ADA room for the disabled, not sure why unless they ran out of normal King size rooms?! It didn't bother me much as the only difference was the extra seat and grab bar in the shower but I did wonder if someone who was disable would need this room more than me. On the facade the room look nice. This is a clean hotel with great beds and fluffy pillows. However, the attention to details on the upkeep of the room is what knocked some stars down. There is a wooden brown divider that divides the living room from the bedroom. On the divider are decorative vase pieces and somehow 2 of them are missing, stolen or broken. You can see the hotel staff did not even try to replace them and you can view the exposed glue. See the advertised pic vs the actual room I received. Small things like this does matter. In the morning I went downstairs for a hot breakfast and they only had pancakes, fruits, muffins and cereal. I was appalled to find a sign that says these items are not for free including milk, yogurt, etc which a lot of hotels provide as part of their free breakfast. I grabbed a muffin and a banana to go. I was hoping for some eggs and sausage. Cheap-O.

Their filthy furniture in the room.

We checked in at the Cambria Hotel in Rapid City, South Dakota and had the worst experience anyone could have. First, the description on the website and their mobile app said two bedrooms, and we went to the room with the front desk lady, Stacy and it was not a two bedroom hotel room. Second, the room was filthy. We went back downstairs to the front desk to talk to Stacy to let her know that we didn't want to stay there and we wanted to cancel our reservation and she went off on us and was extremely rude with us. I'm surprised they allow an individual like her to work there. While we were standing there, two customers came down to complain that one of their rooms was not cleaned, and the other one had no soap nor towels in their room. We asked to speak to Kathryn Brekke, the General Manager, and we were told she wasn't in, so we came back on Friday morning, the 27th, and the GM was not in again, so we came back on Monday the 30th, asked to speak to Kathryn, and she refused to speak with us and told her front desk lady, Jen to tell us they are not going to refund us the night of the 26th. We didn't stay there on the 26th, we went to another hotel which was much nicer and friendlier. Stacy had told us all hotels were sold out, and wouldn't you know, they weren't. I called the CEO number to speak to Patrick Pacious, and was told I wasn't allowed to speak with him, and ended up speaking with an Asian lady named Kim, who I couldn't understand at all, but she filed a claim for us, and told me to call back in 48 hours to check the status of our complaint. No, they don't contact the customer back, we have to call them. I asked her who was her manager, and she said she wasn't allowed to tell me. I swear, this chain of Cambria Hotels is a joke. I will NEVER recommend them not stay with them again. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

Not really a good experience in my opinion and I personally feel this wasn't a good place to stay for my trip . I got here at about 12:30 am at night and I had to wait in the lobby for over 20 minutes for somebody to even come to the front desk. 20 minutes, let that sink in. Rooms are dated, falling apart, at least the one I was in. I try to take good pictures but there were too many small things that were adding up and I only took pictures of the style to give readers and idea of a budget place to stay. I would say you get what you paid for but I kind of paid a steep price for these rooms over $400 for two nights , to me, this is a lot of money for a budget place. I stepped on a screw on the floor with my bare foot that was supposed to keep a mirror secure, I found drugs on the floor by a floor lamp , and I didn't want to touch it , one of the remotes didn't work for the TVs , spots and stains on the furniture , cracked and burnt lampshades, broken ice bucket , fridge was frozen over inside. I just wasn't really happy at all with my stay , talked to the manager-Sara, who is very nice. I just needed a shower and a bed for two days and that's what I got. The shower was clean except for caulking that was coming out of the wall while I was showering, and some small mold spots on the ceiling , And the bed was just fine, no stains , rips, or bugs , nothing wrong with the bed thank goodness. I would definitely pass on staying again , but that's just my opinion.

Blood on the comforter on the bed in my room

What I found when I turned back the comforter on the bed! I was sick! I notified the front desk & they did send up a change of bedding. I travel for work so I notified my boss & she changed my hotel. But not for another day! Then last night around 1:30 I was awoken by the people in the room next to me having sex so loud that I couldn't sleep. This hotel seems like a pay by the hour motel instead of an upscale hotel that charges $230 a night for a room! I've also noticed that the carpet is shredding in the hallways & the floors are dirty & that only makes me wonder really how clean my room is! The very first thing that happened to me when I arrived to check in was one of the clerk's said to me that they don't allow animals & when I told her that my dog was a service dog she said do you have his jacket? I said yes at home because it's to hot but he's wearing his tag & I have his paperwork! She said we don't need his paperwork. People come here because they have allergies & don't have to be around animals! Well then they should stay home! I have allergies and take medication and deal with them! She just walked away & said she was going to let the new shift deal with it! The next clerk didn't say a word about my dog and was very polite and professional. Don't let the pictures online fool you like they did me when choosing a place to stay while here for work!

I will say this was a great hotel and clean. Just a little work needs done with front desk staff. This was a reply from a review they asked me to fill out. Another suggestion, get better coffee. Something brewed and strong!!! Overall nice place to stay.

Picture of the bed bugs that bit me!

I stayed at this hotel overnight for work. First impression was great. The restaurant has a nice happy hour and the rooms are nice. But shortly after bed I was unpleasantly awakened by none other than...BED BUGS!!!!!! This was my first experience with bed bugs and I hope the last. What was even more disappointing is how the staff handled it. I called to the front dest at 1:30am and was told, "I'm not sure what to do" by the front desk lady. Finally she called me back and said that she would send some up to my room with keys to a new room. When the overnight manager guy came up, I showed him the bug. He says, "I know exactly where they came from, the people who stayed here last night definitely brought them in". I can't believe that after you had suspicions of bed bugs, you would still rent this room out to someone without having it checked. I won't be back.

Well today is check out day. We spent 2 nights here. I it's say the hotel is real nice. The rooms are very spacious and the clean. I like the pool and gym stays open 24/7. My kids and I loved the pool and hit tub :).. The restaurant was good as well and there happy hour specials was great . I must say I will stay here again. We did enjoy are self. Now we are checking out and headed to another hotel Which is across the parking lot... :)

Even offering a tour to show off the property (which included a hot tub overlooking said fantastic view) and additional amenities (laundry, ice machine, breakfast nook etc). The room is a little small, but I cant imagine anyone spending a ton of time here (not sleeping) with so many things to do. We found it the perfect size for the two of us and our dog. Speaking of, this place is dog friendly, with an additional fee. Great grassy area (please be respectful owners, so this place continues to allow dogs) to play in. Not a lot of sidewalks on this part of town, so the grassy space was much appreciated. Not sure if I would get thr chance to stay here again, but I would book again for sure.

Now, I'm a bit of an admitted hotel snob, but my husband & I have been married over 25 years and he knows my limits and flexibility. He assured me the place was clean enough for my standards. We are Disney timeshare holders (DVC) and also patronize Airbnbs where we can. Otherwise I generally prefer at least a 3 star, Hampton Inn/Hilton Garden experience at a bare minimum. Sorry not sorry. This place is NOT that. It seems that since my husband's stay in 2018, and even since he booked our reservation earlier this year, ownership of the lodge has changed hands. While I'm appreciative that new ownership and the changes it brings, especially in this new normal of COVID, the service we have received this week has been dismal. I wasn't exactly impressed with the exterior when we arrived - the place is pretty 'vintage'. We were informed that there would be no routine room services performed due to COVID, and we found that we had had to repeatedly ask for things like towels, toilet paper and trash bags. This morning we specifically asked to have the room serviced since we've been here 4 nights now, yet we just returned from being out all day to freshly made beds, and nothing else. No towel restocking, no trash was emptied, no other cleaning, no supplies (hand soaps, in-room coffee supplies, etc) nothing. In my opinion this is pretty abysmal and completely out of the norm for a service industry. If a guest requests a room to be serviced, the staff should, at a minimum, prepare that room to a new guest-ready/turnover level. I was willing to overlook all the other stuff but today's experience was just a nudge too far. Who in the service industry goes into a room and ignores 3 trash cans that need to be emptied? Dead bug in the sink? We have 1 washcloth for 3 people. Nothing was vacuumed or wiped down and nothing restocked. We got a decent rate on this stay, but not good enough that I'm porting my own trash out on the regular and going to Walmart to buy toilet paper. This isn't a timeshare or Airbnb stay where more autonomy is expected on the guests' part. The hot tub is closed, which again, in the age of COVID is a no-brainer, but the area looks janky with a bunch of large rocks on the spa's lid. The front office hours are hit or miss and the 'breakfast offerings' are meager as well, with a few danishes and what looks like whatever yogurt cups were purchased the night before. No rhyme, reason, or standards. Interactions with staff have not been especially friendly or outgoing, odd behavior for a family-owned and run service-industry business. We have 3 more nights here and future return trips to Rapid City will be booked elsewhere. 2 stars because the view of Rapid City from up here is nice. Otherwise 1.

Night shift couldn't help me, they were sold out and said I would need to wait for the day shift to come in. I got next to no sleep, even putting perfume on my face to cover the smell. The sound of the toilet above me flushing thru the pipes next to my head. I went to work at 6 am, before the day shift arrived. When I returned I requested another room. The desk staff said "sure! let me check on that", then returned to the line telling me the manager had said I would need to pay extra for a suite, as that was all that was available. Mind you, I'm traveling for the government, so that's a NO, but obviously this wasn't the right answer. My boss and I went to the desk and I asked the manager on duty to come with me up to the room and smell it. He agreed, and even took a step back when he opened the door. He walked around a little and said "obviously I'll get you another room, I'm just trying to figure out where it's coming from". He went downstairs while I packed and my boss who was still at the desk overheard part of their conversation when the desk agent said "what was it?" and then "that's what I thought it was", seeming to imply they already knew there was an issue. He came back up but didn't even offer to help me with my bags (note, I walk with a cane and a very noticeable limp). This was particularly difficult because the carpeting is falling apart in areas of the hallway and caught the wheels of my bag. None of the desk staff were particularly pleasant, they all seemed very confused about the policies for the freebees that come with parking. Literally the saving grace for this facility is the cafe/bar staff, especially Mary Beth and her young co-worker in the morning and Patience in the evening. You know how I know their names? Because they told me. Unlike the manager (Micah? I think, I caught a glimpse of his name tag) or any of the desk staff.
