Make a left and at the end is where you pay for the beer, grab the stein, rinse and get it filled. All done within 30 feet radius. You can retrace back and grab all the meats and such. Cash only! Outdoor area is huge. Tree leaves started to come out Mid April. Interior beer halls with plenty of seats. 100's people drinking pints and pints of beer. Men's room, designed to take care of all this. Beer was ok, food was ok, experience was ok. Did meet one of the workers offered to take photos. Nicer one at it! All spoke good English so communication was good.

I have been to other breweries and never had this historical perspective. Other breweries just show you their massive and impressive brewing apparatus. This museum, located in the basement and not containing currently operating brewing machinery, shows many historical elements, including photos of how they delivered the beer in the days of horses, and the first motor vehicle that was used in the beginning of the 20th century. In fact, that motor vehicle is in the museum and you can sit in it. There is a good tutorial on hops, and the various grains that can be used for different purposes, ranging from traditional barley to a gluten-free grain. At the end of the free tour, they give you one bottle of beer per person. After the tour, we went to the beer hall to eat and drink. There are many food options, distributed among two floors of vendors. Much more satisfying than just ordering off of a single menu.

There were so many options for decent souvenirs here, I was amazed. We desperately wanted to purchase the Bierstein that was akin to a pony keg....it was under $100 US! We didn't have a way to get it back home unfortunately, and we didn't trust the postal service not to break it. We opted for the more manageable liter one instead, along with some coasters, a hat pin, t-shirt, and a metal brewey sign. All very good, The schnitzel was very tasty and tender. The roast duck was moist and not gamey; very savory and succulent. The schweinshaxe was tender but kept the integrity of the skin was intact and crispy. The service was great because we arrived in between lunch and dinner. But it was pretty busy in the "cafe " area. It seems the servers were from university; students working as a side hustle. The weather had turned on us and the late September drizzle was a helluva thing to suffer through, dragging a bag through a train station and getting by on a pastry to make good time. The luck to land at Die Weisse after our unnatural fast was the best part of the day and fueled us to push onward in the rain and see what else Salzburg had to offer.
