    Die Wiesse blonde and Pilsner

Excellent food - ordered mixed salad with chicken schnitzel. The salad included many varied greens with pumpkin seeds tossed with a tangy dressing that paired with schnitzel very well. Also tried bratwurst with sauerkraut and potatoes. Great mild brat with delicious sauerkraut and a roasted potato. Beer abounds in large quantities with the most popular being varied home brews. Trummer Pilsner was also quite good. Noisy but friendly. Staff is kind. Make reservations online ahead of time, Probably extremely busy in summer so outdoor seating available. In newer side of Salzburg.

Die Weisse is a fantastic place with delicious food and even better beers. I got the Christmas bock and thoroughly enjoyed it. As it is a seasonal brew, I recommend getting it if it's available. The food portions are generous. The schnitzel was fantastic and I would get it again.

Late lunch in Salzburg at Die Weisse Lots of local in the restaurant. Food is good. My first veal sausage & pretzel Only one server at this time. She is super busy. Service is good .. even though with only one server

Returned after 9 years and it was great to see that Die Weisse is still phenomenal. My travel companions loved the goulash and I went with the cordon bleu, all were delicious. The autumn seasonal beer was also great!

Look out for the grated horseradish!

A lovely (large) beer garden - great for watching the soccer matches with plenty of tvs and a lively atmosphere, even late on a Thursday. Beer was crisp and refreshing and the brotzeit (I had the mixed platter, so a bit of everything) was a perfect late night snack after a day spent traveling half way around the world. Except for the pile of shredded stuff that I wondered "Is this cheese? Or. . .?" Friends, it was not cheese. It was grated horseradish. As an allyl isothiocyanate averse individual, even the tiny forkful I took was agony and I spit it into my napkin like a toddler and I feel no remorse at having done so.

Rupertgasse 10 Salzburg, Austria Solid, long standing beer house a bit off the beaten tourist path. Pouring rain and 44 degrees today so we sat at a cozy table inside....about a 15-20 minute walk from the Old Town. Started with the in house brewed Salzburg Pilsner unfiltered, smooth and perfect. Stuffed ourselves silly with beef soup and fritters ( like beef consommé and shredded egg batter!), Hungarian goulash with a dumpling ( think beef stew made with paprika and a Matza ball!), the softest bratwurst with fried potatoes in lard and the best homemade sauerkraut ( who said Austrian food wasn't fattening...you'll never eat that bottled sauerkraut crap they sell in the supermarket ever again!)...plus a little salad. Filling, warming, real food. 2nd beer was the Weiss....lighter, slight citrus, unfiltered and smooth.... Loved our upbeat Croatian waiter Sammy who self taught himself English from YouTube! Good food, few tourists, friendly and attentive service. Welcome to Austrian hospitality!

Die Wiesse is great for dinner and beer. They have a decently sized menu of Austrian food and a great selection of beer. I do recommend making a reservation if you want to sit outside (the outdoor area is quite nice, lots of trees). The waiter was able to seat us outdoors but told us we'd have to finish in an hour since they had a reservation. The food here was absolutely delicious. My brother got a goulash, while I got the dumpling variety and both we'd get again. The dumpling variety came with minced meat, greaves, and bacon dumplings all served on a hot bed of sauerkraut. Very tasty and filling! If you're a tourist, this spot is a bit further by foot from the tourist destinations, but it's still worth going. My brother and I thought it was cool how many people came in traditional Austrian clothing to dine here.

One of my favorite beer gardens I've ever been to! Die Weisse is a little bit out of the way from the Old Town center but it's definitely worth it. They have a large indoor and outdoor seating area (outdoor area is covered with tons of trees). It also seems like a place that locals frequent a lot. We got the Schnitzel and Bratwurst. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. The ambiance here is great, the food is great. Not a single reason to not give this place a go!

This is definitely where the local Austrians go (which was perfect since it was right by our hotel). on a Friday night, be warned even as a party of 2, you will need a reservation! I don't know why they said the staff was not friendly. When I first got in, there was NO table in sight, so my boyfriend and I sat at these little tables in the waiting area. Within 10 minutes, the manager came by and gave us English menus and told us he would personally find us a table while we enjoyed our beers. After finishing our first beers, we got seated (even though the place was packed). For dinner we finally got wiener schnitzel (This was amazing! it came with a side of potatoes and cranberry sauce) and spinach dumplings (little nuggets of dough with a creamy cheese sauce + ham). The portions are huge and you really do need beer to cleanse the palette.

Thanks for your help and also suggestion "Don't drink too much beer!". It is definitely a tourist stop over but glad I did it and you should too. Make a left and at the end is where you pay for the beer, grab the stein, rinse and get it filled. All done within 30 feet radius. You can retrace back and grab all the meats and such. Cash only! Outdoor area is huge. Tree leaves started to come out Mid April. Interior beer halls with plenty of seats. 100's people drinking pints and pints of beer. Men's room, designed to take care of all this. Beer was ok, food was ok, experience was ok. Did meet one of the workers offered to take photos. Nicer one at it! All spoke good English so communication was good.
