The replacement damper itself is an inexpensive part (around $10), and a fair total repair cost at an independent shop typically ranges from $300 to $450 based on 2 to 3 hours of labor. Many Camry owners reported paying roughly $300 at independent shops familiar with this specific fix. When I called Huntingtown Automotive beforehand, they gave me an estimate of approximately $300. However, once the job was completed, I was billed $750 based on 6 hours of labor. Surprised by the unexpected cost, I discussed the invoice with the shop manager, Troy, who subsequently reduced the bill to $600. While I appreciated the discount, I still feel that $600 is significantly higher than what is fair and reasonable for this repair.

It is definitely clean, but after riding in it for one day, I've noticed some areas that they missed. I paid for the platinum package which is $230 for a crossover vehicle. The interior is leather, and with two kids the seats had spills and splashes. While those splashes are gone, my seats do not look conditioned as the package advertises. I'm guessing conditioned means that a conditioning product is applied to leather, but there's no slight shine to it. So I'm unsure if that was done. The e-brake area still has debris under it, a lot of it. So I was a bit disappointed that it was overlooked or forgotten about. The back and sides of my seats still had a little bit of specks on them, which didn't seemed wiped down completely. Windows were clean inside and out, so that was a plus. Tires were shiny and rims were cleaned. Carpets were vacuumed and shampooed. Trunk mat and carpet underneath were cleaned and vacuumed. The main reason why I'm not doing 4 stars is because I called the day before and we agreed on 9 AM the next day. At 9:15 I called and left a message. A couple minutes later I got a text saying they were running behind and that the crew would call me shortly. Not long after that, they called me to let me know they would be there in 30 mins. They got here at 10, technically an hour after what I was expecting, and I would've preferred to have gotten a text or call letting me know they would be late, instead of me waiting 15 mins to call and see what was going on. An hour into the job, they let me know they have to go back and get some equipment they forgot. An hour later, they were back. By 2:30 they were finally done. The men worked hard and did an overall good job. My car wasn't squeaky clean to begin with, and it is definitely cleaner now. But I wish the owner/crew would've notified me about being late sooner, and that they had all the equipment they needed for the job. The pricing seems on par with detailers in the DMV, but for that price, I would've loved a little more attention to detail and getting here on time with everything they need for the job.

So, I did a thing... I purchased a brand new 2024 Tesla Model Y, in the new "Ultra Red" color. When…read morepicking up my Tesla order at the dealership, the tech mentioned getting ceramic tint, and something called PPF to keep my red paint looking gorgeous. I subsequently came to learn all about the benefits of PPF (short for "Paint Protection Film") from Mr. David Dugan at Ceramic Pro/NXT Wraps. http://www.ceramicpro.com/aftercare. Not only did Mr. Dugan explain his after-market exterior paint and interior vehicle protection services, but he did so thoroughly and patiently. Days after taking delivery of my new Tesla, I turned it over to Mr. Dugan and his team at their shop in White Plains, MD (near Waldorf). I opted for PPF to provide front end paint protection, coupled with a Ceramic Coating on the entire exterior of my Tesla to help maintain its luster. Aside from providing phenomenal shine (in fact SHINIER than when I dropped off my 3-day old brand new car), the peace of mind knowing that my Ultra Red paint would be far less impacted by environmental factors was the decision point for me. I learned that PPF and the ceramic coating combined reduce the risk of rock chips and road debris penetrating or spoiling the paint. Plus, the ceramic window tint protects the interior from the deleterious effects of summer sun. The ceramic tint I selected results in almost 90% heat rejection, which is a huge bonus since Tesla's have soooo much in-cabin sun exposure. In fact, I elected to tint all windows, including the windshield and panoramic roof, where Tesla drivers are most impacted by hot sun and damaging UV rays. Side note... whether you live in DC, MD, or VA, Mr. Dugan is knowledgeable about window tint laws and will give top notch recommendations. The Outcome: In about 3 days, I picked up my VERY shiny, wonderfully protected Tesla and was overjoyed! The pictures speak for themselves... check them out! It was storming on the day I picked up my Tesla and the water beaded and rolled off quite nicely. No streaks or water stains the next morning either! Bottom line... Don't hesitate to work with Mr. Dugan and team for exterior and interior protection options for your car (either brand-new or once-new). I am so so satisfied with the outcome and it was worth the investment of time and money with Mr. Dugan and his top-notch team at Ceramic Pro. #SuperShiny #Tesla

He saw my 2019 Ram 1500 and noticed that it was in great shape for a 7 year old truck and had the same black paint code as the 2026. He said he could do paint correction on it and it would look as good as the 2026. Wow! He said when I picked it up it would be hard to tell which was the new truck and which was the 7 year old truck. That old paint now looks like it never had before even when new. It also has incredible depth and gloss.
