Though I've always followed Christ's teachings, this felt like both the completion and a new beginning. Choosing baptism as an adult is incredibly meaningful. The first service I went to at this church was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by how warm and welcoming everyone was. The chapel itself is spacious and there are people of all ages. The music was loud but very enjoyable. Excellent musicians and you can feel the love and sincerity in their hearts. I'm so glad I found this church. I've been to many others in the area and they all have their positive attributes. This church honored both the biblical teachings, as well as my individual spiritual journey as a former Catholic, who has studied world religions, and many spiritual traditions. As a woman, studying these deeply personal insights and eternal wisdom, I'm very grateful.

What I love most is that they offer so many different types of services , a Latin service, a more contemporary rock music service, a live music service, an outside service, so even though it's a large church, it never feels overwhelming or impersonal. No one is forcing anything on you, which I deeply appreciate. And Pastor Chris Brown? He is just so wonderful. North Coast is a church on a mission, and you can feel that the moment you walk in. Two words: CHRIS BROWN…read more No, not the rapper :) I wish this were our home church but we live all the way up in north OC. But to hear this man preach, we make the 71-mile trek every couple months and it's always worth it. Not only is he a master story-teller and super engaging and funny and all the characteristics of an effective speaker, but most importantly he is faithful to the text--he does his research and draws out details that have often gone overlooked by even seasoned students of Scripture, and delivers God's word, neither in a "seeker-friendly" manner, nor in an academic tone as if to seminary students, but rather to the soul that simply needs more Jesus (that's everyone) in no matter what stage of their Christian walk. And I love how he doesn't assume everyone in the audience is a "seasoned' Christian or even saved in the first place. He doesn't even assume you know how to navigate the Bible as he guides you how to flip to book/chapter he is preaching out of. His messages will make your eyes water and fire you up at the same time. Get ready to open the floodgates (your tear ducts ) He's helped me with my walk for years now, whether I listen online or in person. Finally the music during the service is awesome. Being a musician and having played for several worship teams over the years, I don't mean that lightly. Their play a variety of worship songs, including contemporary , oldies but goodies, AND original songs they've written themselves! --which are both easy to sing and gospel-centered at the same time.

You know when you were kids and you used to sing really loudly, and you didn't care if you were off key? It's like that. You know when you are with your family you say something stupid, and they all laugh but you don't care? It's like that. This is the warmest and friendliest church I've ever been to. My husband and I were trying to find a church that we both liked and we are so happy that we found this one. They are not constantly badgering you for money, but they do pass the collection plate. They are not trying to make you feel bad about yourself because you aren't living the way you should, but they do believe in the bible. They are not condemning, they are loving. Even though they want you to live the Christian live, if you aren't perfect, they will still accept you. They have cookies and coffee after each service and every once in awhile they have a potluck. The only thing that I would change is this: Many of the patrons are, let's say, a little older, so they wear far too much perfume. Let's face it, it's a bit stinky in the church because of all the perfume. But I guess that's one of the imperfections that I will have to live with since I'm not perfect myself.

We are so grateful to have finally found Oceanside Sanctuary. It's small enough that everyone can get to know each other, but large enough to have a diverse congregation of people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds. It runs a weekly food pantry for those in need, and hosts a monthly resource event for the homeless. Oceanside Sanctuary is exactly the kind of church that we had been yearning for. It's located in the heart of downtown Oceanside, in a 100+ year old chapel with beautiful stained glass windows, wooden pews, and high ceilings with wood beams. I've been to the food bank multiple times, and the team is always so generous and helpful. They greet you with a smile and are always willing to ask, "How can I help you?" You can truly tell they care about the people they serve. I've also attended both services, and what I love most is how the team makes you feel like family. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and makes you feel like you belong. I also appreciate that the pastors are available and take the time to say hello and connect with people. It's a beautiful community where you truly feel welcomed and cared for.

This church has a food bank to distribute to people every week. It is very nice of them, but they…read morehave a priority to certain people. Therefore, they give first choices by first distributing food to only Mexican people on the Saturday. Whatever is left, they will distribute on the next day (Sunday) to every one who wants. If you are not Mexican, and shown up on the Saturday, they will yelled out loud "NO FOOD", and ask you to leave even though you can see Mexican people taking/carrying food to their cars in the parking lot. I don't believe that the church has a GOOD practice of big discrimination in front of JESUS. If I could I would rate no STAR because there should be no discrimination in any churches. They are bad examples for people, and young kids who initially steps to the faith of believing in JESUS. The church has a food bank program to share with every one. Most of voluntary people working in the food bank are very nice. My Asian girl friend is one of church volunteer who is currently helping in food bank services, she WITNESSED, and ASKED me to share on review that there are 2 families which have 2 volunteers ( one is husband and wife , the other is mother and daughter). These 2 families took advantage by getting twice free foods they wanted to fully loading in 4 cars for themselves, no sharing to community. Below was my own experience when I was there on a day in April 2026 to participate it. I came in at 9:20 AM. I left my rolling cart in line and went back in my car to sleep because the food bank would not open until 12PM. There was no one behind me at the time I left my cart there. I was the 4th one in line. I came out my car around 11:25AM to get ready once the food bank opened. I saw a tall lady standing behind my rolling cart. Around past noon, when the food bank opened, there was a voluntary lady whose name "Eve" (pronounced as EEVEE) came out. The tall lady who stood next and behind my cart told EVE that I was not here earlier, but only my cart. Eve immediately told me to step out of the line without asking me to verify what lady just said. It was unfair that EVE treated me as I was invisible, and did not respect me who is 66 and older than her a lot. Therefore, EVE let the lady cut in, and came in first. I spoke up. I insisted telling Eve that I left my cart in line at 9:20 AM, and went back to sleep in my car. Eve smartly (in opposite way) told me that, " I was not here because she came here at 9:00AM." I said, "You were here at 9:00 AM but you had been inside the whole time so you did not see anything to believe whatever that tall lady said, and you did not let me have my voice. Again, I got here around 9:20AM how could you see me here at 9:00AM?" That was all, I did not say anything bad at all, but EVE told me AT ONCE that if I continued talking she would prohibit me to come inside the food bank today and FOREVER." She repeated again loudly that she wouldn't let me to come to the church forever if I did not stop talking to her. She made me so EMBARRASS with other people who were waiting in line at that time. She treated me as I was a committed crime person in the church that she caught. I wondered that what did I do wrong, but telling her the correct story. Furthermore, THE GRACE CHURCH IS THE JESUS' HOUSE for any one who believes in JESUS to come praying/socializing. It is NOT her own place/house, and she is not one of pastors either to disallow me coming to the church. On whose behalf, Eve had a right to tell me that she could disallow me to come to the church when I have believed in JESUS, and not done anything wrong. EVE even mentioned me that she is the church member. EVE made me waiting forever until 12:45 to let me come inside the food bank. From the 4th one in line, I was the 34th one to come inside. That was how discriminate EVE did to show her power as a church member there to me. Thanks for reading my post.
