We used this venue for a wedding reception. It was one of the best priced venue's anywhere in the area. Met with staff and found them helpful, giving complete information on what they could do and what they could not cover. They had good contacts for other vendors, DJ, photo booth, cake baker, etc. they had a number of different meals offered at different prices to choose from At and during the reception their staff was on the ball, while friendly with guests. The reception went off without any problems. Due to staff's being able to handle the reception of about 100 guests We recommend this venue for gatherings of groups up to 200. read more

This is a review of the cafe, not the golf course. This is my favorite breakfast place in the Yucaipa/Calimesa area. The value is great. The service is good. The view of the golf course is a bonus. We have played here quite a lot during the past few years,our experience yesterday was dreadful,water lines blown out ,brown fairways,the 8th hole green was on the fairway couldn't even putt. I know the course has new owners ,they should close down and do two phases keep one side open,completely revamp the course tear out the greens,get rid of the spongy Bermuda grass around them,I left six strokes out there because when your ball hit it stops, or goes in some direction you don,t want it to go. Install a new irrigation system, the old one ancient. After all that is finished I'll return. The food is very good I have to say. One other thing before closing Tony C must be on the payroll for the review he gave,he must have confused the Tukwet course in Beaumont with this disaster of a course. My advise stay away. read more

This place is improving after years of stagnation. New management, new ideas, and new updates. Go there for breakfast and you'll be pleasantly surprised by great food at less-than-Denny's prices and tasty Bloody Marys! And how about this... Heineken on draft! More events planned along with much-needed updating coming to the inside facilities soon. We had our work Christmas party for our nursing unit here last night and it turned out great! The banquet room has a lodgy feel with a large brick fireplace & high ceilings with wood beams. The bartender was awesome, and the Italian dinner was delicious.the whole venue was decorated for Christmas & was just the right touch! Christy the event planner was very attentive to my requests & answered my emails promptly whenever I had any questions. We will definitely have our Christmas party here next year! What a piece of crap this course is. Every green has a fungus that makes putting unbearable. I played today thinking that after 6 months it has to be better. Boy was I wrong! Even the cart I was driving had the rear bumper fall off. I do have to admit the staff if the club house and restaurant are very friendly. Went for Sunday breakfast, first waitress was not friendly at all! Then we stayed into the 'brunch' hours and got a gal named "Lisa" WHO WAS AWESOME!! We would go back again based on the 2nd waitress, but usually dealing with staff on the phone and in non-bar areas most are rude...not sure if they think we are wasting their time or if they are all just paid enough to not need the customers. I golf here every week. Love the course, especially the front nine. The back nine is great also, it's just more difficult... lots of 'dog legs'. Last week we tried the restaurant. WOW! My now husband and I had our reception at the calimesa country club yesterday. Christy, Noah, and the rest of their wonderful team were so supportive of us. We couldn't have been in better hands! They saw our vision for our reception and not only ran with it they made amazing improvements! They are warm, friendly, kind, flexible, dependable, and so much more! Noah the chef made amazing dishes for us and our 133 guests! Christy the amazing Wonder Woman running the whole thing I can't thank her enough for all of the hard work she personally put into making my dreams come true! The new management is amazing! Give them the chance to knock your socks off because they are simply the best! This has to be the worse golf course in California I've seen better greens miniature golfing! Not to mention trying to dodge water from sprinklers being on during peak time whoever bright idea that was! Course conditions horrible and make shift greens lol what a freakin joke! We got first class service! My Caesar salad had freshly made croutons that had a light crunch when I bit into them-yummy! My salmon was juicy, and the Au gratin was buttery. Greg is very attentive! We were a party of seven, and all glasses were never empty. read more

A joke really. Fairways are completely dried out and have no grass. Greens are soggy and all the cups had standing water in them. Made you not want to make a putt. This is not a golf course any more, its a dry field. A waist of time and money. read more

First, let me say that the staff in general are warm friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has wonderful food which is both tasty and filling. So restaurant- A OK! Let's move on to the pro-shop staff- Uh-huh...I'm not going to name her, but the lady at the counter was as warm and inviting as porcupine with a prolapsed rectum. In my encounter, I found her absent of any personality and for someone who will be engaging with the general public as the face of the golf course, she would not be my first choice. Unconfirmed, but there were others there who said they know of golfers who will not visit this course solely because of her. I get it. But, in a small way I will defend her in that she was trying to do too much with too little. She was answering the phone while trying to deal with the folks standing at the counter. And actually causing more work for herself by running around finding the groups to go off on the tee at their tee time. This could be alleviated with a STARTER! So, perhaps a bit of help for her might put a smile on her face, I'm hopeful. So enough of her, I think my point is made. As far as the course itself- The layout is good and challenging but there are a few things that certainly need attention: The tee boxes- It is clear that the groundskeeper is trying to get the grass to recover in areas of the tee box and for that reason has moved the playing tee box forward or backward away from the recovering grass. But come on, at least mow down where you put the temporary tee boxes! I'm sure that will resolve itself as time moves on. By the way, it would really be nice to have a bucket of water on the first and 10th tee. I hunted for a bucket and finally resolved to use the bathroom sink to wet my towels. The fairways- Okay, well let's just say that word everyone is familiar with here in California...drought. Very few premium lies in the fairway without clunking into the rock hard mother earth under the small wisps of grass that is trying to grow. I understand the conservation efforts, but I would be willing to pay a bit more if the course would water it a bit more. And I save the best for last- The greens. Clumpy, mushy, way too soft, thick, fuzzy, and riddled with bumps and deviations. The greens are getting the water or sure. In some places too much! They are in such need of a good solid mowing. Sort of like the haircuts my dad, a former U.S. Navy man, insisted I sport as a kid. Nub those suckers down! In addition, the greens are in need a good heavy rolling. While putting for a 4 foot birdie opportunity, my ball bounce all over the place and it took a quality whacking to get it going and push it through all the fuzziness. It reminded me of the problems the pros were having at Chambers Bay during the U.S. Open a few years back; it was like putting on cauliflower. So, having expressed my frustrations, it is my understanding that the course is under new management/ownership and with that comes a series of quality changes to really enhance the experience for the golfer and/or diner. I will play here again and hopefully a bit of TLC goes into this course in the not so distant future. read more

I would give 3 stars for the overall experience, but within the past couple of weeks they have basically closed down the restaurant/bar for everything but breakfast and lunch. The course has always been "iffy", but now with the restaurant closing early most days (and not open at all on Mondays) there isn't any reason for me to ever go back to this place. Too bad, 'cause the course has always had potential. The ownership just hasn't put money in the right areas. The condition of the course is the worst I have ever seen it in 25+ years! read more

Wish breakfast didn't end at 11:30 on Sunday's but we also come for lunch and its always nice having Lynn serve us with her bubbly and upbeat personality. First off let me say I like the restaurant very much. The food is good and very reasonably priced. I've been golfing here at least two-three times a month in the last 3 1/2 years. I mainly play here because I'm a retired senior on a fixed income and the green fee for seniors is very reasonable. Yesterday may have been the last straw though. The course was in terrible condition. Grass not mowed, greens in bad shape etc. Whatever kind of grass they have growing on the fringe of the greens is nasty. When you hit a pitch or chip shot and purposely land your ball on the fringe instead of kicking forward like it should, this grass just either grabs the ball and stops it or it causes the ball to bounce to the side. Now I know the course is under new ownership but it seems like the conditions are getting worse instead of better. Oh and get Dominick the bartender back there, he was the friendliest employee there ! read more

Where to start..... I attended a banquet function last evening for my place of employment. To be honest, having been a part of the committee that organized this function I should have known what was coming based on the many issues dealt with during planning. I understand that a change in ownership has taken place and will give that you might still be working out the kinks, but some of what happened does not bode well for your success in this business. The price was out-of-line for what you served and the manner in which you served it. The salads were served on a 7 inch plate with a portion barely covering the dish, offering a single layer of spring mix and a couple of grape tomatoes. Not being a spring mix fan, I didn't taste mine, but will admit that others at the table said the dressing options (set on table not served) of ranch and raspberry vinaigrette were passable. The ranch a bit sweet.... One of the entrée choices was a tri-tip with baked potato and vegetables. The meat was served cold, very tough and full of fat, the baked potato was a half-portion (who does that??) and the vegetables a standard frozen mix. The second choice was a chicken dish - a single 4-6 ounce breast, served over a bed of rice with the same vegetable mix. All of the items on that plate were served cold. The third choice was a vegetarian option made up of pasta in a light cream sauce with vegetables - undercooked pasta, served cold. The kicker on all of this was how the entrees came out of the kitchen..... There were nearly 130 diners. The first served were those who ordered the beef, fifteen to twenty minutes later (even the most polite person couldn't wait until the others at the table were served or their meal would have been completely cold) the chicken entrees were passed and ten to fifteen minutes after that, the vegetarian choice. There was an excuse (not an apology) given that the kitchen is small and that this is the only way options can be served, however this same function was held at the County Club the year prior (I did not attend) and there was apparently no issue with the staggered service. What should have happened is that the four to five servers you had on the floor should have each carried a tray with the three entrée selections to every table and the serving handled in that manner. That would have served a table at a time, versus an entrée at a time. What took place certainly put a damper on the dining pleasure for everyone, regardless of their opinion about the quality, quantity or taste of the food. In addition, the servers (understandably) were frustrated with the reaction they were getting from the waiting diners so I witnessed at least one being snappy and rude to the table she was serving. Fortunately for her, it wasn't me she got snappy with! I will mention that the dessert (cheesecake), which was apparently last year's disaster, was tasty and a nice sized portion. The room is in need of some attention and it is not as clean as it should be. Some of the furnishings and floor-coverings are in disrepair and someone should clean the walls above eye-level. There did not appear to be anyone "in charge" on the floor at all during that evening which would have helped if apologies were made to the tables about the delay in the food. Quite frankly, if they were in the house, I think they were hiding! If you cannot improve the manner in which you serve a banquet setting that allows for entrée choices, I might suggest you stick with offering buffet service. If last night was not an anomaly, it won't take long for the word to get out. read more

We love this place! My husband and I golf here all the time, we got engaged here in 2013 and they were very helpful to my husband for the entire event. They notified golfers before us of what was about to take place and to not disturb anything that was set up. All golfers of course complied and the day was amazing. 2/17/16 - Breakfast at 9 a.m. Gloria, the server, remembers us, though 4 of us breakfast there, say, about once a month. Their breakfast selections are outstanding. Gloria carefully records what each of us specifically orders - such as "crispy, crispy," hash browns, and blackberry jelly, and eggs basted a certain style. My selection is the Ham Steak breakfast with 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast selection. And it's REAL ham steak, sometimes with the bone in the slice. Others might order what's named Hole In One, which is 2 eggs, pancakes, selection of potatoes, and bacon or sausage. Each of these selections are less than $10. The food is so tasty, the chef must be commended. Coffee is served in a carafe left on the table for you. A pitcher of water is on the table. The pricing is unbelievably low for such a high quality. I wish we lived closer; I'd go there at least once a week. Yes, it might be somewhat out-of-the-way, but it's well worth finding. As you dine, you can watch the golfers on Hole #10, a par three. And you can see others teeing off at other holes in the distance. The view is gorgeous. I've played golf here a number of times, too. Yes, there are better course conditions available (for more than twice the money), but you're in the country. A gorgeous setting with some challenging doglegs,elevated greens, elevated tees, and just plain beauty. And -- I've paid more $ at other courses that were not as beautiful or challenging. Seems like the waitress this morning can not get a simple breakfast order correct. May 21,2016. He ordered a bacon & egg sandwich on sour dough. He got HALF of a cheese, bacon & egg sandwich on sour dough. He said that is NOT what I ordered. She said oh sorry. She took it back & then brought him a HALF of a bacon & egg sandwich on sour dough!!! He wanted a WHOLE sandwich . He was charged over $4.00 for this half. If I could give a negative review I would and this is the first review I've ever posted good or bad. Worst all around golf experience I've ever had at any golf course. Besides the woman working at the pro shop (she was very nice) all of the employees and local patrons were the most rude arrogant a**holes I've ever encountered. I showed up at 6 pm to just play a few holes on my way home from a long business trip in coachella valley. At this time no one was playing on the course except for myself due to the time. I hit no balls beforehand so it took me a few holes to get warmed up and even then I was shooting horrible this day. I should mention that after shanking it on the first hole I could here a group of guys, employees and regulars ridiculing and laughing at me (which made things worse and infuriated me and did no help my game either as you can imagine I'm sure). Then they proceeded to pretend to be playing or working the course and followed me from hole to hole laughing if I didn't hit a beautiful shot. Unfortunately for the course I was asked by my companies VP of marketing to stop by on my way home and see what I thought because we're incorporating a golf tourney for the jr account executives each year after Coachella while ours is held at morongo. I won't mention what company I work for but we are the leader in sales/distribution of multinational consumer goods. Goes without saying they just lost or ruined any chances of developing what could have been a very long and lucrative business relationship with our organization. Would never want a new/younger employee with our organization to feel the way I did today or to not continue to purse playing golf because they don't have enough time to sit around, drink, and play golf everyday like these yocals obviously do! read more

Sure there are better golf courses out there, but the value and the hospitality is as good as it gets. I have golfed here several times and have always had a good time. Sure I could go to a PGA course and play on pristine greens, but I also want to be able to feed my family, so I play happily here instead. The service at the bar/restaurant is great. They have an awesome happy hour and if you really want to treat yo self, ask for the Russian Cherry. Word on the street is they might start staying open Monday nights for football games. I've been playing this course for many years. It''s had its ups and downs, but currently, its in pretty good shape. It gets a fair amount of criticism for various things but I believe that most of that is unfounded. First of all, it is not a four star resort - its a "local Muni" and it's priced accordingly. I played there yesterday for $10 - walked 18 holes in 2 hours. Its about $25 bucks with a cart on weekdays to play. If you expect "first rate service" go to a course that caters to that crowd - you get what you pay for. Calimesa is definately "blue collar" but for a lot of us, that is it's charm. read more

THIS IS A HORRIABLE PLACE!!! We had a wedding reception here in May 2014 and i really wish we didnt. The staff was so rude to me and my guests. We had ordered the buffet and it wasnt actually buffet. We paid for two entrees and the guests were only able to get one. When it was time to have the toast, my husband and I didnt get served champange so we had to toast with water. We paid for white wedding chairs and got cheep dirty fold out chairs. The server who was cutting the cake HACKED up the cake and was so rude while serving it. One guest wanted to buy one last drink about fifteen minutes before the reception was considered over and the bartender rudely refused. There is no use in speaking to the manager about these issues because she was just as rude. PLEASE DONT HAVE YOUR WEDDING OR WEDDING RECEPTION HERE. If I could give this place a "ZERO" star I would. We booked this place to have a wedding back in July 2016. We asked about signing a contract then and they told us to wait until it got closer and finalize everything. Well my wedding is May 6th 2017. We had been there a couple times from July - January. They demolished all there landscaping where they do weddings. All that was standing was a gazebo. We had a meeting with them yesterday and management was a half hour late and then tried blaming us why they were late. We were told that the new grass would be put in and that was it. We were then told our $19 a plate went up to $33 a plate. We said it was not okay. And we were flat out told that if we didn't like the way the place looked in a couple weeks that we could change our wedding venue. They did not want to bend on anything after there mess and not informing us of all these changes sooner. So happy we were able to find another venue. The Calimesa Country Club and there new owners are shady, would not recommend anyone here not even to golf. read more
