Joel was very knowledgeable, relayed all necessary information, and answered all our questions adequately when we met in person. His assistants did respond to phone messages and email promptly. I would recommend Joel as an estate planning lawyer. I worked with this firm two years ago to prepare my trust, based on a recommendation from my…read morefinancial advisor. At the time, the service was solid and I was satisfied. Recently, I've been trying to make minor updates to the trust. I reached out multiple times (1/12, 1/16, 1/28, and 1/30) and received little response from the paralegal who handled my file. Despite repeated follow-ups, there has been no communication or guidance on how to proceed. I then escalated the issue (2/4) and contacted the owner of the firm directly -- also with no response. Complete lack of communication from both the paralegal and firm leadership is unacceptable, especially for a straightforward request from an existing client. If timely communication matters to you, this is something to be aware of.

It was a no-brainer to schedule this free first 15 min call, because I wasn't even sure my mom needed a trust. We were nearly going to schedule with a bilingual estate lawyer who would charge an initial fee of $250/hr. Right on scheduled time Michael Jenkins gave me a call, and we were able to determine very quickly that my mother's situation wouldn't benefit from a trust after all. They could have easily pressured me to do it anyway, so I really appreciated their honesty and legal knowledge. Just from this experience, I would go back to them when I actually need to do some estate planning. Thank you!
