I picked this place as it offered great pricing for what I expected to be a California Tan, as the name implies. Instead of a trip to California like I was expecting, I got a trip to the ER. See I paid and then went to the tanning room and was met with a small shuttle that I assumed would be my transportation pod to California. Knowing that I wanted to give myself some time to be able to see the sights, I entered 6 hours and I got inside. The pod was very uncomfortable inside and travel always makes me very anxious, so I took quadruple my prescribed dose of Xanax and drifted off. I awoke to a searing pain all over my whole body. I screamed bloody murder and staff quickly got me out of the transportation pod. Medical personnel quickly arrived and I was taken to the hospital. The doctors say I have 2nd and 3rd degree burns over my entire body and that I should never tan again. Incredible! I'll never have to tan again in my life, AND because I can barely move my limbs, I get to collect disability and quit my job at Petsmart. My husband Bobert refuses to apologize for the extraordinary pain I'm enduring just to be more attractive to him. He claims he never asked me to do that though, saying it was stupid and I was just being insecure. Oh really? Well then I must be crazy and all the naked women I found in his internet history are all just coicidentally dark-skinned. It's just a big accident that he was on a website that was geared towards men who like women of color and he wasn't practically holding up a sign saying "you're unattractive to me, lighty!" Well, Bobert. You got what you wanted. My skin is darker than a red plum. The least you could do is acknowledge the lengths I went to to be sexy for you with a trip to Florida. Of course, he won't. Says he can't afford it on his pension. Well we'll see what you can afford when I can walk again and I start getting gawked at from every direction with my new look. There is no other place to consider once you have been to Cal Tan and seen Chris and the lovely ladies who work there. They are exceptional and always try to go above and beyond to make sure you are leaving with the best results and happy. I have done tanning, spray tans and also am currently using the sharplight for hair removal all of which have been excellent. If you are considering the sharp light let me tell you - you wont be disappointed. I started with my under arms to test it and make sure I could handle the pain (as I had laser about 6 years ago and never went back after my first session). It is pretty much painless and my results so far have been amazing. I have only had 2 of my treatments so far and cannot wait to see the finished results it has been working so good- I have also added Brazilian and leg treatments. I have had 1 Brazilian treatment to date and also have had very good results. I have been waxing for the past 12 years and when I did laser 6 years ago- having to shave first and then the laser was very painful in the treatment and for weeks after- with the sharplight I have no pain or irritation afterwords. You wont be disappointed! I have brought my friends and family here and if I know anyone who tans- I tell them they must try it. read more

Before I submit my review... I have seen two other reviews on this business and I must say that OLIVER H. must be trolling! His review is the complete opposite of my experience. Based on his rating and remarks, he is one of those individuals who ruins it for everyone else. probably complains when he isn't given back his $0.01 change at the local convenience store. I have been a customer of California Tan since 2001 and LOVE it. Every time I enter the building I am greeted by friendly staff who always remember my name and the last conversation we spoke about. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is welcoming. They recommend the right products that really help with my tan and skin type, but are not pushy and aggressive about it. All of the beds (including stand up) that I have been in, are clean and comfortable. They change the bulbs regularly, so I know I am always getting the best tan for my buck! I have never waited more than 5-10 minutes when I don't have an appointment, and the staff is always willing to accommodate walk ins. I have no problem recommending California Tan to friends and family and wish continued success to the business, and hope to tan at this location for years to come. read more

I was shown all the different tanning options to assist me in making my choice of the type of bed to use that best suited my needs. Prior to my first session, everything was explained to me, including the various controls. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I look forward to future sessions. He did my spray tan for my last competition and I was very impressed, it was completely even and didn't run!!
