They were incredibly easy to work with and managed to get us in for a Father's Day weekend charter on short notice on Folsom Lake, which was much appreciated. We booked a 3-hour trip and packed in a ton of fun! The crew was totally flexible and let us customize the experience to be exactly what we wanted. We cruised around the lake, swam, and even tried water surfing behind the boat. Sky was amazing with our daughter--she gave her a lesson, walked her through the basics, and coached her the entire way. It made the experience so much more memorable for our family. They came fully equipped with everything we needed, including life vests for the whole crew. Whether we had wanted to just relax and cruise or stay in the water the whole time, they were happy to go with whatever worked for us. Next time, we're definitely going to try the tubes and the floating island--they had it all ready and it looked like a blast. Kim's communication style was unprofessional and discouraging--she frequently popped and chewed gum during the lesson and delivered feedback in a harsh, condescending tone that made my child feel embarrassed and less confident. At times she contradicted the other instructor. Bottom line--My daughter came home in tears and feeling less prepared for her test than she had before the lesson. They are truly Masters of their craft. Theyre very good with communication, taking care of the newborn and just overall good people. I don't think I've met a kinder group of people. You could really tell that they put their hearts into what they do. It's not just a job to them. They are here to help mothers get through the most difficult time after childbirth. Our friends recommended RRDS after having used them for their two kids two separate times. Our experience was fantastic. Originally, we had only planned to use them for 6-8 weeks postpartum, but we ended up using them for about 4 months. Our initial doulas were Tracy and Stephenie, and we absolutely loved their help, expertise, and kindness. They helped me immensely during my c-section recovery, taught us so much about newborns, and ended up being such a great resource throughout our entire time with them. As time went on, Tracy and Stephenie stepped back a bit due to other commitments to new families, and we were introduced to several other doulas for the remainder of our relationship with RRDS. Everyone was great and communicative, and we really felt like we were in good hands with each of them. There were a few hiccups along the way, but Rebecca and the doulas handled it all with grace and understanding. We have already talked about using RRDS again with our next baby.

Every visit with them was great and they always made us feel like we were one of their own children. They were always both very positive and uplifting. The after care they provided was exceptional and I couldn't have imagined anything better!! I had some troubles with nursing right after my baby was born and it didn't matter what time of day it was; they were ready to come to me or would make time for me to see them no matter what. I would highly recommend One Heart for any woman who is even considering a home birth. To those of you who think we are all granolas and this would never be something for you, think again. It's one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have. Yes, of course there may be pain, but it's a pain that will end and you will never feel the high of seeing your baby born and knowing that YOU were the one who delivered him/her at any other point in your life. My husband and I are new residents to California and I am currently pregnant with our first child. We have no family in the area. I had a phone consult scheduled with the owner, Ms. Michele, on January 5th, 2026. She called me on time and we both mutually agreed to move forward with the on-boarding process for doula services for my pregnancy. She requested that I call my insurance company and gather the information for her in an email. I did this, and sent her an email the following night, on January 6th. I didn't hear anything from her, so I sent a text message to both her work and personal cell phone number on January 9th. No response. At this point, I am 37 weeks, and anxious to move things along for doula services. The weekend and Monday goes by, and I still have not received a reply. I decide, as a last attempt, to call her. I called both her work and personal cell phone and left a voicemail on each line on Tuesday, January 13th. Nothing. Shame on the owner, Ms. Michele, for stating that she will move the process forward and said she will have a doula for me for my birth. She lied. She disclosed to me during our consult that she is a mother herself and had over twenty years of experience working as a L&D nurse. This provided me great relief and happiness, only for it to be crushed when she never replied to my messages. How can someone with this sort of background make a promise and then not follow through? Ms. Michele should be ashamed of herself not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level. This seems to be a wider issue with the Doula profession as I was ghosted by another local Sacramento doula company as well as the Volunteer Doula Coordinator at Mercy Hospital of Folsom. I believe doulas are a valuable asset to a woman's birth experience, however, I will not be wasting my time anymore trying to arrange one for my pregnancy.
