The female officer also gave me a booklet to study for Civics test. You will be called to have your headshot taken and they will also scan your fingerprints. The female officer was nice and asked me if the photo was ok or if I wanted a retake. She also rechecked if my names are with any typos. There are two restrooms which are clean to use. I chose the 10-10:30 slot even tho there was a 9:30-10 open. I wish I would've chosen 9:30-10. Everything seems to get backed up as the day goes on. I wasn't checked in till 10:45 and finished up around 5 minutes later. I wish they had more than 2 people checking in but make sure you have your confirmation number ready and it's quick!! I think it was some individuals who caused the line to back up. With everyone coming here there was very little parking. I ended up parking on an adjacent street (Center st.) that was free for 2 hours and walking over

It's just odd to see in City Hall. The building department and the different department in that section move a little slow even though they are well staffed so you might be waiting for a while if you need to go to the department. I can't remember the date and time but, I received a parking citation by an officer named T. Munoz…read more I understand that my vehicle was not parked correctly and my feelings got the best of me. I was upset, like anyone else would be. But my concern is that the officer giving me the citation, didn't try to deescalate or mitigate the situation. In fact, he kept saying smart remarks as if he wanted me to react to the situation more. Another officer showed up by the name of Luna. As soon as she stepped out of her truck, she came to me in a calm, professional manner. She explained the circumstances of my citation and she was understanding as well. But above all, she remain calmed, making me calm. She instantly mitigated and deescalated the whole situation to a zero. We need more officers like Luna who are compassionate, understanding, professional and calming when the situations are high and not be power hungry officers like Munoz. Thank you Officer Luna for treating me like a human and for overall having respect.

And I do not feel safe and/or the great/positive fuzzy feelings with them in any way anymore. Even though I was warned by some people about the personnel at the Westminster Police Department in California (and the entirety of WPD as a whole / an entity), I have always had their side / six with and against naysayers about them and people calling them negative names. I would let those people know the positives that I see in them; my experiences with the positive personnel, who I've experienced; etc. (never the negatives). My recent experiences with them - their lack of protection for me (as a victim - they took my abuser's side and sent/locked me away; ignored me [my pleas and cries and just wanting closure] and their negative attitude, demeanor, and responses towards me). These and more has ended me from being one of their donors (been a donor for years; I am so ashamed with myself for losing hundreds of dollars to them [probably, even thousands because I've been paying decades in taxes, too]), my protection against any naysayers and negative people towards them (I no longer have their six because they did not have mine at all), my beliefs that they are protectors against all evil-doers (I feel like such a fool), etc. I even connected with WPD for assistance. What a joke with WPD's assistance. Didn't even give me closure. Their Commander and Sergeants were rude to me and ignored me for asking about (and for closure and results of their reviews/investigations). Again, I want to reiterate that I did not feel and/or receive any of their MISSION STATEMENT and CORE VALUES experiences in my recent experiences with them. And I do not feel safe and/or the great/positive fuzzy feelings with them in any way anymore. The mission of the Westminster Police Department is to protect the lives and property of the people they serve, to reduce crime, and to enhance the quality of life in the community with commitment, compassion, and integrity. The city is in a financial downhill, lots of issues in the streets and parks. If you suggest or speak up on issues that will help (professionally of course) they shut you down. If you're part time, honoring the required hours they still treat you like CRAP. It's way too old school of a culture & mindset which is why the city is where it's at. Tony Gallegos is one main prime example from parks maintenance. Too old to lead or TO adapt to multiple environments and changes. He is closed to change and changing times/dynamics. He doesn't care about your plans outside of work and he wants your whole life around a measly 19 hours a week part time job. He has a BAD attitude and is so unprofessional. If you suggest meetings, rather than mitigate an easy fix problem, they just get rid of you. They even fired a coworker with no just cause. No warnings or coaching. It's mostly a money deal since he was due for a cola raise and annual raise. There was no performance based issues. We were there for two years.
