We happened to be there on a perfect day when High Desert Falconry visited for an educational program. It was so amazing learning about these beautiful birds. We learned so much from the husband and wife team. Definitely check out their website for any upcoming events. During the summer, they also have a lunch program for the kids from 11:30 to 12:30. This is the last week they are having it. It starts when the kids are out of school and runs to the end of July. That is, if they receive the funding to offer it. The Armstrong Flight research Center (formerly known as the Dryden Flight Research Center) is located at Edwards Air Force Base. They do have an annex located at Plant 42 in Palmdale, but this is the main center From here they conduct a variety of research. Past projects are a who's who of aviation legends from the Bell X-1, F-104N, The F-15 ACTIV, F-8, SR-71, HL-10, HiMat, X-29 etc etc etc. and they are all on display. They are currently working on a variety of X planes that take advantage of the massive runway and facilities there. It is difficult to get a tour and even stop to look at the static displays unless you have business at AFRC.

Call 6 times, get runaround from rude people and no one can tell me why it's denied . My friend finally figures it out, go back to the office . Their staff submitted my form incorrectly so benefits weren't going to start for several months and not when I need them to start as I am retiring soon . So have to disenroll and reenroll In Medicare , get a really off hand non apology , apology and also lied and say they tried to contact me which they didnt. If my friend hadn't figured it out I would probably still be calling or would have to postpone my retirement . Would be nice if they submitted your forms correctly and paid attention instead of rushing you out. If anyone on the 6 phone calls I made had really listened to me they should have been able to figure it out. Very upsetting and unnecessary experience. We printed applications on line and then went to AAA for passport photos. We called City Hall and scheduled appointment for the next week. We went in and paid the fee and we were done. Very easy process and received our passports quickly. The ladies working were very nice and helpful.
