Everyone at Basney from…read moreChris Egan, to both of the Chad's are super friendly, helpful, honest, funny and they beat the snot out of any Chicagoland dealer. No games and total honesty are rare in this industry but Basney BMW does both. Never tried to upsell, didn't try to hide any fees, just total transparency. After working out the details remotely, I took a train ride to South Bend and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I have purchased a lot of cars and this was the easiest deal ever. I have to say that even including my train ride and the drive back I can almost guarantee that I still saved time versus the time it would have taken negotiating with the dealers in the Chicagoland area...and the train ride was pleasant to boot. Anyways, if you are within a day or two drive, I think it is well worth it to shop Basney BMW. You will not be disappointed with how you are treated. I am sure I will be a return customer too.

I can say the current management is ruining the reputation that used to be so good. I have taken my truck in three times and specifically asked to make sure they grease the front end, the other day I had the front tire off so checked and the front end hasn't been greased, I brought this to the attention of the service advisor and I got the impression he really didn't care. I politely inquired whether my prepaid maintenance plan would cover the cost of that day's service because I did not have to pay during my previous visit. Her demeanor was VERY dismissive, and she offered zero explanation. I later found out on my own they were simple charges--which was understandable, but I still had questions. Had she taken the time to explain these charges, I would have left feeling more informed and content, not just another transaction. I typically would have let this interaction slide, but the audacity of this behavior left me appalled. I'm only giving a two-star rating because I've previously had wonderful experiences with the sales team and service technicians!

It took them over a week to fix (it's a 3 hours job). The alignment was botched and the steering wheel was not straight when it was returned to me. When I called them back to correct the issue, the service advisor informed me I can certainly bring the truck back... but they intend to KEEP the truck until my previous bill was paid by my warranty company. Shocked, I called the warranty company to see what was going on. They told me the dealer would not accept their payment due to having to run it through through a credit card service (100% of 3rd party warranties do this with 0 problems at other dealers). Apparently, Tyler did not want to pay the 3% fee for the transaction. Why this was not added to the cost (to me) I will never know. But Tyler would not accept payment and told me they would KEEP my truck until I PAID the full bill (I had already paid the deductible upon completion of the service that day). I wrote to the Service Manager with this problem, hoping to find a solution that worked for everyone. No reply. I emailed the General Manager. No reply. I then emailed Scott Tyler directly to tell him how his customer was being treated, because if it was my business, I would certainly want to know. No reply. I told them all in my email that I was reaching out to correct the issue in order to not have to do what I am doing today, which is share negative feedback with all social media and RamCares. Since there was nothing after several weeks of trying, here we are. And my steering wheel is still crooked, which I will now have to pay someone else to fix.
