And the design of their restaurants are white and bright and airy, but have no sound dampening elements. Here, too, it's excruciatingly loud. Voices carry and everyone is trying to speak over everyone else to hear and attempt a conversation. Is this to keep folks from lingering? I ordered an avocado smash and my husband ordered the New Yorker. You order and pay at the counter and they give you a numbered block of wood to put on your table. This is not a fast food restaurant. They brought my husband's coffee first -- but it was cold. When he told the server about it, she said they couldn't heat it; that they'd have to remake it. When it was returned, the guy said he'd heated it! But at least it was warm and now had steamed milk -- closer to the cafe con leche he'd wanted. They delivered my food plate. And the gal walked away with my husband's food. Walked around the room and then back to the counter. We watched her do this. I walked up to the counter where she was standing and holding his plate and asked to get his food! She said she'd gotten confused. I'd added smoked salmon to the avocado toast. The toast was very pretty to look at. There were watermelon radishes and thinly sliced cucumbers on top of the smashed avocado. On top was a generous portion of smoked salmon. No cilantro as on the menu, but a dash of everything seasoning. The base was a toasted piece of sourdough bread. My husband's New Yorker had scallion cream cheese topped with sliced tomatoes, smoked salmon topped with pickled red onions and sprouts. The base was toasted sourdough bread. He said it was very good once he got it! I'm glad we tried them. Now we know.

She said that they don't use milk. So that'll keep the calories down. The ambiance has a little to be desired. The plaza seems a bit empty. But this place is just south of LA Fitness.
