I'm not someone who typically writes reviews, but I feel our experience at Cali Burrito warrants one. I really hope they stick around, because this is exactly the kind of locally owned restaurant I want to see succeed.
The genuine hospitality was apparent from the moment we walked through the door. My husband and I had a great conversation with the two gentlemen working there, who I assume were the owners, and they made us feel genuinely welcome rather than simply like another order coming through the door.
The menu isn't massive, and I actually appreciate that. Instead of trying to offer a hundred different things, they seem focused on doing what they do well. And they do it really well. The food was delicious and, more importantly, had its own personality. There are plenty of places where it feels like the same ingredients came out of the same generic cans and were just rearranged into slightly different dishes. Cali Burrito is absolutely not that. Everything we had was flavorful, distinctive, and tasted like someone actually cared about what they were serving.
I also loved how completely unpretentious the place is. No gimmicks, no trying too hard to be trendy or Instagram-worthy. Just genuinely friendly people serving really good, flavorful food.
Restaurants seem to come and go so quickly these days, especially new independent places, and I sincerely hope people give Cali Burrito a try and help make sure this one sticks around. We definitely plan to be back. read more
