This is one of many monuments and towers I have visited including the San Antonio tower, St Louis arch, Washington Monument, Eiffel Tower, Sears Tower, Seattle Space Needle, and Empire State Building. It's a tower and it looks a lot like the San Antonio Tower. We learned on the bus tour that Calgary's Tower was built about a year before the one in San Antonio. And those sneaky Canadians under reported the height of their tower. So San Antonio said "hold my beer"and made their's a tiny bit taller. Well, the Canadians finally fessed up on the real height and it was taller than the one in San Antonio. So not everything is bigger in Texas. The ticket purchase and elevator are pretty fast. We visited on a Tuesday after Stampede, hoping it would be less crowded and it was. Great views of the city and the Rocky Mountains up here. I really enjoyed all the placards with history inside the tower. Lots of information on the various sides of rthe tower that explain the landmarks that you see. So cool to stand on the clear floor and see the city beneath my feet. We wanted to have a cocktail, but got here too early in the day.

Well, I have been in the Seattle Space Needle, the Freedom Tower, the Washington Monument, Sky Gardens and now the Calgary Tower. The Calgary Tower was constructed in 1967 and completed in June 1968. The height is 626 feet. Since we had a little time to kill before heading to our destination we decided to check it out. The cost was $19 per person. We rode up the elevator to the observation deck and had a spectacular 360 degree view of the city of Calgary. You could see the Saddle Dome where they hold sports events, parts of the Olympic ski area from the 1988 games, the Bow River and a slight glimpse of the Canadian Rockies. I loved the glass floor where you could see all the way down to the street. If you have a fear of heights then probably not a good idea to stand here. There is a small gift shop fir those that would like a souvenir. We were up there for about an hour then we headed down and we were on our way. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and a great way to see the city. I would recommend stopping by and going up high!

It is a must - see in a visitor's itinerary. The Calgary Tower offers 360* view of the city and the Rocky Mountains. For more information visit: https://www.calgarytower.com During my visit to Banff, this was not in our list. We just swing by to see if we can walk up. Lo and behold, we were able to purchase tickets. Buying online tickets is CAD$2 less. We gave our tickets to the receptionist for verification then let us ride the elevator up. Upon exiting the elevator, visitors and the view of the sky plus buildings greets you. We were so excited that we posed for pictures immediately. But when it is time to step on the glass - I got a faint of heart - the feeling came over me and I stopped. It took me awhile to brave my self and looked down. Haha It was a great experience. If you dine in at the restaurant, going up the Observation Deck is free. Restroom, Theater and infos are available. Souvenir shop downstairs.

Such a fun experience from the tower! First time in Calgary and it was a cool view to see landmarks, which we later attended!

Take in the views of the city and sprawling urban land at the city tower. Made my palms sweat a bit though beautiful day to see Calgary

The 360 views of the tower are nice, especially at night seeing all the building lights but other than that, there's not a lot to it. There's a lot of information along the walls of it's history but with us going at night, there was nothing illuminating the information so it was hard to see. Once you're on top, there's a second level but really it's just more info and the bathrooms. I feel like they can make it more of an experience as any building around can provide the same views.

Great view of the city, worth the $$.

Really enjoyed my visit to the tower. It gave you a great 360 degree view of the surrounding areas. Be sure to bring earbuds and log onto their WiFi so you can easily get their audio guide through your phone (free!). It is free if you eat at the restaurant (Sky360) and separate check-in line. If you pay for the access, it was $22 Canadian (I believe)/~$17 American when I went with the conversion. Appears to be cheaper if you purchase them online, $19. The prices were higher than I saw I the website. Don't be scared and take that great picture over the window balcony (my photo below). Make sure you go on a clear day.

In our personal tour of Calgary we have to stop by the Calgary Tower as it stands hundreds of feet in the air and looks over the city. We parked at the parking structure right behind the tower, and were able to enter through the elevator to the entrance of the Calgary tower. When we arrive we took pictures and checked out the gift shop at the bottom floor and purchased our tickets as well. After purchasing our tickets for the right time we were able to go through the entrance get our tickets scanned and take the elevator all the way to the top. Once we got to the top we're able to have an amazing view of the city all around 360 of the tower. There is even a portion where you're able to stand on the glass that is transparent all the way to the ground and you can take pictures out there as well. Overall was a pretty good experience and got to see you very nice views on a very clear day. They had some other video showings and information we can go upstairs as well. You can stay up there as long as you'd like, so that was really cool as we got to take her time looking around and pointing out certain areas of the city that we were going to visit later on in the day. Overall highly recommended service in Calgary, it was a very cool experience.

It may not be the tallest tower in the world anymore; but when you see this tower, you immediately identify the City of Calgary with it. This is easily the most iconic building in the entire city.

The tower is cool and you can the entire city from the observation deck. A small portion of the deck extends out with a glass floor, so you can see the ground from high above. This is pretty cool. Aside from the city view, there are some info about the tower and Calgary. There's a gift shop on the ground level and restuarants on the level below the deck. This tower is ok. I have been to other Sky 360 in other countries, but it seems like there's something missing for this tower. We also ate at Sky 360 restaurant. That was a good experience, except our server was rude and rushing us to order and finish it. As an overall experience, it worth going, but don't compare nor have high expectations.

Cute tourist thing to do the views are beautiful and I like that they had a space to take pictures. We had dinner so we had discount prices but honestly the tickets were pretty cheap considering. Like they're downstairs Shop bought some goodies for the road and highly recommend to visit it was probably the best thing we did in Alberta Calgary that wasn't a far drive or anything tons of restaurants around the area too.

Beautiful view of the skyline in Calgary from up there. It would be much better if there's telescopes or higher observation platforms. (I asked the employee and she said that it used to have telescopes but they were shut down later)

Interesting however it isn't organized. Audio doesn't go with the numbers. Just read what you can.

Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice. In person, it was much nicer and cleaner. Every section of the library was sparkling clean and clearly maintained well. There are 4 stories with computers, meeting rooms, tables, coffee shop, art installations, children's area, etc. They definitely made it so there are plenty of resources available for whatever you may need. The only downfall I can think of is that the library has quite a bit of drugged up people in there as well as right outside and some of them causing a scene or clearly making others uncomfortable. I understand it's a public facility but it's still a negative aspect about the library.

They also have a little cafe serving coffee, lattes, tea, smoothies, and ice cream desserts. Reasonably priced. It's a cool place to check out on a rainy day in Calgary. They have free tours on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12-1pm plus an escape library game on select dates.
