My doctor recommended Bow River Hearing to help me find out the reason I'd recently developed…read moretinnitus. I went yesterday and it was my first ever hearing assessment. Margaret Tsang, a total sweetheart, conducted the assessment. I felt bad for her because the clinic secretary was away for the day and I was the first appointment, so she had get the office up and running and find new client intake forms, etc. The office is nice with beautiful views of the river. They even have tea and snacks in the waiting area. I found the entire assessment process really interesting and Margaret took time to answer extra questions I had which were unrelated to me. Margaret even looked up info and offered resources. She did a great job of explaining my tinnitus and other weird things going on with my right ear. By the time I left, I was relieved that I wasn't broken and there was a legit cause for what is going on. I was given a copy of my results to take home. This clinic is easy to find but if you want to park in the lot, you have to pay. I found free parking two blocks away.

She's thoughtful, thorough and made me feel at ease as we determined whether I require assistance with my hearing (or whether I'm just not quite paying attention sometimes?) The process is easy and informative and I walked away with a sense of how important this is to all of us. The service is great and the people are genuinely friendly.

Horrible! From day one, my hearing aids were falling out. Connect told me they fit fine. I was…read morelucky & after searching for hours, always found them. That is, until one day when the wire was bent. The receptionist at Connect refused to replace the wire & said to just curl it with my finger. I have had hearing aids for many years & knew it needed to be replaced, but she refused. She "curled" it with her finger & within a couple of hours it fell out & this time, after searching for hours, I was unable to find it. I went to another hearing aid company & got new hearing aids. That was over 3 years ago & they have NEVER fallen out, but that is because the domes are smaller & they actually fit. I also had trouble when I needed a copy of something for my insurance. The receptionist refused to give it to me (although I had fully paid for the hearing aids) until she checked with the audiologist who was in for an appointment for another 20 minutes, so I had to wait & the entire time, the receptionist was treating me like I was trying to scam them somehow. (The audiologist had no problem giving it to me when she came out.) Glenmore Landing Connect was bad enough, but Avenida was even worse -- rude, condescending & arrogant. Always acted like you were bothering them if you asked for anything, like the free batteries you are entitled to. My "new" hearing aids (almost 3 years old now) from the other company have never fallen out & are superior in hearing quality. The the company always provides excellent service & the hearing aids were 40% less expensive there!

While at the airport in the states getting ready to fly to Calgary, I lost my hearing aid tip and couldn't find it anywhere. We looked all over where I had been and taken my hearing aid out, but with no luck. Obviously none of the airport stories had any replacements of any kind, and I didn't pack any. I determined that we could stop at a hearing aid place in Calgary the next day, and so I did some research to figure out which one was closest to our route. The first place we stopped at was supposed to sell my brand of hearing aid (Widex), but they were closed. We moved on and found this place! Immediately upon entering I was greeted with caring smiles, friendly staff, and home-like hospitality from Kendra, Barb, and Judy. Not only were they able to find workable hearing aid tips for me, they also pulled the old one out of my ear! I had no idea it was still in there. Though the silicone tip of a hearing aid is an inexpensive fix, it can really mess up a trip if you find yourself without one. These lovely ladies at the Hearing Loss Clinic (Kendra, Barb, and Judy) helped save this trip for me, and they did it all with a smile on their face and a wonderfully friendly attitude.
