Margaret Tsang, a total sweetheart, conducted the assessment. I felt bad for her because the clinic secretary was away for the day and I was the first appointment, so she had get the office up and running and find new client intake forms, etc. The office is nice with beautiful views of the river. They even have tea and snacks in the waiting area. I found the entire assessment process really interesting and Margaret took time to answer extra questions I had which were unrelated to me. Margaret even looked up info and offered resources. She did a great job of explaining my tinnitus and other weird things going on with my right ear. By the time I left, I was relieved that I wasn't broken and there was a legit cause for what is going on. I was given a copy of my results to take home. This clinic is easy to find but if you want to park in the lot, you have to pay. I found free parking two blocks away.

I asked the Hearing Loss Clinic office to send me a copy of the report of my visit and was unpleasantly surprised to find that the practitioner had grossly misunderstood what I had told her. I have contacted the office now a couple of times over the past week to let them know of the error and have provided them with the corrected information. I was concerned that if incorrect information was provided on the referral, it could affect the wait time as all specialist referrals are triaged. I still have not heard back from the practitioner In my opinion, this is extremely unprofessional. Obviously, her only priority is to sell hearing aids, not to assist patients. Very disappointing.

However, I did a presentation in November, 2010 when Dr. Swain was appointed the Cal Wenzel Family Foundation Chair in Hepatology, and I really learned how incredible this man`s credentials are. My experience of him as a doctor, is someone who listens, asks questions, is compassionate, knowledgable and is always honest. Over the years, as alternative health options have been cropping up, I have asked him all kinds of questions regarding my treatment, and he has handled my requests with patience and honesty. Further, in the rare occassion where I have had trouble, he has been accessible. He truly does care about the work that he does, and his patients. He always makes time. In addition to taking on patients, Dr. Swain also holds other responsibilities in his field.
