I've had the pleasure of working with Elyse on a number of photo shoots. Initially, she took…read morematernity photos and then photos of my newborn daughter. Ultimately, I happily used Elyse to capture my business. As a local small business owner, Elyse encouraged me to develop a branding strategy that would tell a story on my business website and social media outlets. I really wanted the photos to enhance my mission, but also show the real me! We worked in a professional studio setting where Elyse took hundreds of photos over the course of 5 hours. There was no rushing and I felt so heard! She did an amazing job of listening to what I wanted, while also suggesting ideas that would make my vision that much better. It's obvious Elyse puts a lot of time and hard work into delivering quality photos. During post production she clearly takes the extra hours to comb through the details-things that I wouldn't normally deem important (ie symmetry, complimentary colors, and proper lighting.) She is a perfectionist, so I trusted that she would take the time to make sure I'd be happy with the end result. One of the biggest differences between Elyse and most other photographers that I've worked with is this: she makes you feel super comfortable while guiding you on how to pose. As a woman this is so crucial because it's really difficult to find a flattering stance. I never know how to stand or smile! I also have a hard time just looking natural. Iman and DJ Kia had routine calls with us to check-in and offer advice. We knew we could trust their opinions and flexility during the uncertain times. On the day of the wedding, DJ Kia was so involved with every aspect of the ceremony and reception. He knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to make our wedding day an unforgettable experience. He literally orchestrated our ceremony processional and was making sure everything was running smoothly. Everyone felt at ease walking down the aisle because DJ Kia was there to send them off. We were lucky enough to have Iman MC our wedding, and believe us when we tell you he knows how to put on a show. The dance floor comes alive with Iman on stage and everyone was out of their seats and dancing the entire night. Our cocktail hour ended up going over schedule, which pushed back our reception. It was no worry though, because Iman was there to quickly restructure the timeline and ensure everything ran smoothly. We also used Night Owls for our video production and working with them was a truly pleasant experience. They captured every aspect of the wedding beautifully. In just a few short weeks, we had our trailer and wedding video created, both of which were edited to our liking. After doing some online research and talking with a few photographers I decided to work with Stacey. We met in Old Town Alexandria one Saturday afternoon in October. I was nervous at first but shortly into our photo session I felt at ease as Stacey is friendly, professional and fun, not to mention amazing at what she does! She was also great with our greyhound and got some adorable shots of him. Stacey has a wonderful eye for light and color and found a lot of unique backgrounds for our photos. Our online gallery was available after about a week and a half and the results were fantastic! Soon after, Stacey scheduled a free consultation with us to view all our photos on the large computer screen that she has and to help us pick out which prints and framing options we wanted to put up in our home.
