This is a fabulous family Italian restaurant in Burnham…read more It opened around six months ago, and has around 30 tables. But already it is worth booking, because it has already become so popular. And here's why. The food is fantastic. The menu is wide, including all the normal Italian dishes you would expect from a good Italian restaurant, such as a variety of pasta, pizza, meat, and a couple of fish dishes. The pizza is home made from scratch and cooked in a wood fired pizza oven. Made with fresh ingredients, both kids and adults love them. The pasta is also home made, with a good range of sauces, such as bolognaise, seafood and penne arrabiate. If you like lasagne, they make one of the nicest I have ever had. Huge portion and so delicious. Tonight, we started with octopus and aubergine. The octopus came with a tomato sauce, on a bed of curried mashed potatoes. The aubergine was baked in a cheese sauce. For the main course, we had steak with a pepper sauce and vegetables, served in an attract wooden slab. And a chicken baked on a creamy gorgonzola sauce. Although we did not ask for it, the restaurant thought roast potatoes would be nice with the meal, so they brought us a portion on the house. We finished off with sticky toffee pudding. Unusually, not too heavy, coming with ice cream and cinnamon sugar, a great way to end. The food was perfectly cooked, and tasted exquisite. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We went earlyish, so there were plenty of kids. The brought a very happy feel to the place. The staff were completely comfortable with it all. In fact, the restaurant is a place that seems laid back with just about anything. You can wear what you like, go for an intimate meal or go with a party of friends. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and warm. We have been a number of times. The meal generally costs between £30-£70 for two. Tonight, the meal cist £71 include bottle of Montpulcianno wine. Thoroughly recommended. If you go, you are in for a treat, with or without kids, alone or in a party. But you would be wise to book if you want to be sure you will not have to wait for a table.

February 15th 2019…read more In Evening, me my mom and my dad had a family dinner together.Everything was going great. We first had to book this Italian restaurant called Rigoletto. After we got there we found a very comfortable seat. Mom and I started to order. My original plan for my third course was to eat a pancake called Crêpes Suzette. The waitress said that I couldn't order that as my third course. It was because there would be alcohol in Crêpes Suzette so he suggested me to try another dessert for my third course so I ordered tiramisu. The rest of our meal was delicious! However, our neighbors ordered Crêpes Suzette and we saw the fire flying up two meters high. It was caused by the alcohol. Because the alcohol was strong enough to make the cooking pan go on fire for two meters high. That was a funny & interesting night. I enjoyed eating in the Rigoletto and if you have time, you can go there for your dinner!!! Fun Fact This was my dolci menu!!!

My wife added a Caesar salad to her pasta and we were both surprised by the size of the salad. I ordered carbonara and my wife ordered pasta with cream sauce. Both were very nice portions. La Fenice is a good Italian restaurant…read more However, it has all the makings of a GREAT Italian restaurant if it could succumb to a few simple tweaks. I went there with friends recently. The vibe of the places squeals 'style', the friendly smiling attention of the servers likewise. Then we we given the menus. The combination of low light, nothing specific illuminating our table and pale grey printing on the pages of the menu meant... well, it meant we couldn't actually see what was on offer! I am not making this up when I say to read it we had to spark up a smartphone and hold it over the pages and then lean in as a combined trio to pore over the contents. So simple suggestion 1:- Quickly reprint the menus using good old fashioned black ink and save your diners the embarrassment and awkwardness of having to squint like a very squinty thing. Simple Suggestion #2:- If you must play music over the speakers, please, please, PLEASE play something that is in keeping with the stylish vibe of the place. I will remember La Fenice's craptastic selection of horrible saxophone solos, cheesy light jazz rubbish, out-of-tune wailers and (at one point an utterly bizarre choice of) German oompah band music FAR longer than I will remember the food I ate there. And the food is good. One of our party had a pizza which looked inviting and was polished off in its 14" entirety whilst the other two opted for the risottos (mushroom or chicken) which came out from the kitchen hot and steaming and very tasty indeed, garnished and accompanied perfectly. The food served to the tables around us all looked terrific and almost everyone seemed to be having a nice time... even if eyebrows did collectively raise when that oompah tune came on. Le Fenice's website - just discovered - states that fish is their speciality. I wish I had known that on the night as its been a long time since I've had a good Italian fish dish. I've never had a problem finding a spot. The dining room has a decent size and a large back patio that's open in summer. The setting is casual-romantic. Service is prompt and friendly.
