Our son tried to reason with the kid, tried to get his own materials (which he was scolded for) and tried directly asking the instructor for help, a request which was ignored. I also reported this on an email survey that the camp sent out after the first day but received no reply. We decided to totally skip the last two days and have our son learn coding on his iPad instead because he felt like his time was completely going to waste at Wizbots. I would not recommend this camp to Update to respond to the owner's comment: the camp let's 7 year olds sign up and at no point was I contacted and let know that the age of 7 was too young. As can be seen from other reviews, other 7 year olds do sign up and even have good experiences. The issue here was a lack of intervention against a clear behavioral issue and lack of responsiveness to repeated feedback in real time from my son and myself. I still have never been contacted by anyone from wizbots except via this review.

Fast forward, I wanted my 8 year old daughter to be exposed to these technical skills that Digital Monkey provides. This summer she attended the classes Digital Design and Illustration and Intro to Animations camps with Greg and Ola. She felt comfortable right away. With a small comfortable environment, she learned so much and brought home great work in just one week! With her love to play games, watch YouTube and an interest to help me while I work, this camp introduced her to storytelling, art, technical skills, critiques, animation skills and more! Camps are fun, but what puts this at the top of my list is - not only fun, it taught real-life skills that can used through all types of disciplines and in her life. I don't believe there are any other programs that compare. I plan to enroll her in the next available camp.

The things we learned really helped us truly understand about different mediums and techniques in such a short time too! I have been to several art classes through out my life and never had taken so much in as I did with Gemma. She is very versatile and can teach both adults and very young children with no art experience at all. I admired the professional and personable approach she gave to each student. She truly cares about art and wants to see everyone reach their goal. We had a wonderful time and the classes were more then worth it. I highly recommend this place!

The methods used seem to be very effective, and I think their approach would help anyone, whatever their level. They use computers so that each student can work on a different project, based on the skill level and interest. It's not "computer based instruction", the computers provide the "step-by-step" instruction for completing the assignment. This lets each student work at a different level and at their own pace. Then the teacher can focus on giving individual advice and instructions. The teachers are really great at working with the children. My daughter is so happy with their program, she literally runs down the sidewalk from our car to the school every time I drop her off! I can also say that their customer service is EXCELLENT, they are very client oriented, accessible to the parents, and professional in dealing with the "business side" of the school. If you are considering Lascaux, look no further, just find a class that works for you and sign up!

Our son spent two years in the Butterfly class at Challenge School's San Mateo campus, and…read morehonestly, sending him here is one of the best decisions we've made as parents. When he first started, he was a quiet little boy. He'd come home from his old, all-English school and barely say a word about his day, and making friends never came easily to him. That slowly changed here. From his very first days, Challenge felt safe to him, and bit by bit he came out of his shell -- chatting about his friends, laughing more, growing into the outgoing, happy kid we'd always hoped to see. Watching that happen has meant more to us than we can put into words. So much of it comes down to the teachers. He adores Teacher Francis and greets him with a hug every single morning, and there's a genuine tenderness in the way the teachers treat the kids -- right down to the little nicknames they have for each of them. What really stayed with us, though, is how the school shows up when things get hard. Last year our son got bigger and full of energy, and his afternoon nap started keeping him up later and later at night. Bedtime turned into a nightly battle -- some nights we were still at it past midnight, and the whole family was exhausted. When we brought it up, they didn't just nod and move on; they sat down and worked through it with us. They offered to move him to the after-school class, and -- knowing how much his friends mean to him -- suggested he could still spend his mornings with his original class so he wouldn't lose them. His sleep eventually sorted itself out and we never needed to make the switch, but the fact that they were so willing to bend for one family told us everything. His Mandarin has blossomed here, and so has his confidence in English. He mostly speaks Mandarin, but Teacher Hanan gently coaxed him up for Show & Tell each week, and he went from not wanting to say a word to standing in front of the class and telling his story in English. The teachers keep a close, caring eye on the whole child, too -- they check in with us often about how he's doing with his learning, his play, his communication -- and they're always adjusting to help him along. And it's simply a joyful place to be a kid. He's forever bringing home crafts and drawings, he helps look after the classroom plants, and he counts down to every holiday they celebrate -- Easter, Halloween, Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day. We're deeply grateful to Francis, Hanan, Nicole, and everyone at Challenge School. If you're looking for a warm, bilingual preschool where your child will be truly seen and truly cared for, we couldn't recommend it more.
