The library is no longer located in Cedar Center. They have a beautiful new building which is larger than the library I used to go to. A new building for another generation of Arnold kids to develop a life-long love of reading. :)

Sadly, I had several documents…read moreI needed printing so, the El Dorado County Library, i.e., the EDC LIBRARY has available modernized computers you may use as well as printing documents which by the way, is completely a Godsend. Ahhhhhh~Yes, I do hear the Angels' Choir . . . However, I never applied for an EDC LIBRARY ID Card so, I decided I'll apply for an ID Card on my birthday which just so happens to be TODAY~YAY: I was given a short library card, application form which I copiously completed, submitting my CDL, signed the application, and gave my application and CDL to the awesomely cool Librarian. Afterwards, the Librarian escorted me to the computer station giving me succinct instructions using the computers. IMPORTANT FYI: When you're ready printing your documentation-whatever you do, DO NOT PRESS CTRL + P; unfortunately, using this shortcut will truncate your document printing only the first page~DOH! Instead, scroll down to the bottom of the page searching for three dots in a column in the right side clicking the mouse on the three dots selecting PRINT. Voila~Finished!

We attended a storytelling/ playtime class. There was singing, hand gestures and lots of toys. It was so much fun. Lots of toddlers too! I am looking forward to more activities. We also got our first library card. We now have access to several other libraries in the area. We checked out a few books. All the staff is super friendly and helpful, the library inside and out is spotless, they have restrooms, computers, games, coloring, so many genres of books. Anyone who is a California resident can get a free library card at the front desk. They are doing a fundraiser to upgrade the place. I hope they can reopen the typewriter closets into places folks video conferences online can use. The library has a security officer that keeps the over talkative from yapping too loud and will open the locked bathroom for your use.

Few days ago, although I was so exhausted but my little ones needed to borrow books no matter how tired I had to put on that mommy energy and get them here. I sat next to the window, watched through the window cars passing and enjoyed the outdoor lush beauty. There was a magic, no phones, library silence, row of books that stand like silent companions and each holding a world within the spine of books. At least the books are silent not like manager's, they don't ask how fast can you work on this. I feel library is a safe space, read, wander with imaginations, crave for more and eager to read next book from the series and let your brain learn new words or emotions through the book. Growing up, I was happy whenever the library trailer book bus came to our school. We never had library while growing up, so I looked forward to borrow book's when the library bus came. I clearly remember one time, my favorite book was dinosaur book. I renewed twice because the story was my favorite. And I'm glad my kids enjoy reading and thanks to the public library, we've borrowed thousands of books. And without the library, this wouldn't be possible without breaking the bank. And thanks to the library, we can borrow from different branches. They make it possible for kids to read and grow. All I want to say, thank you! You are making a big difference in our lives.
