I have had some water flow issues for a few months so I called Calabrese plumbing on a Sunday to leave a message to hopefully get get a call back the following week. I was shocked when George answered the phone. After chatting with me for a few minutes about my issue, he asked if we could FaceTime and he had me show him the issues in my house. He helped me diagnose my issues and get things working like new. When I emailed him to tell him that the issue was resolved thanks to his expertise, and I offered to pay him for the inspection, he declined. He said he didn't charge phone calls between friends. This literally does not happen anymore, and I was floored. George has my gratitude and I am a customer for life. read more

Great job at my Son's home in Forty Fort, severalAmazing work! Very professional, kind, caring and honest. Thank you.

Yes, there are many capable plumbers out there, but besides being able to quickly diagnose and fix problems (in my case, it was a non-flushing toilet due to a clogged ejector pump), George stands out because he's a genuinely nice human being not out to just make a quick buck. You can tell that he really enjoys helping people out. The only downside is that I think his schedule is packed because he's so great at what he does! read more

Calabrese Plumbing came out the other day, to fix the leaky outside faucets. George did a great job, was fast, and I was really suprised at the reasonable bill! George, that doesnt mean raise your prices (ha ha). He's also funny as h@ll. I highly recommend Calabrese Plumbing. Wish I'd known of hm years ago. read more

Wow! George is amazing. When our toilet was broken 6 months ago, he came out quickly and did a repair very fast, supplying all the parts himself. Today, our hot water heater was not working (on a Sunday) and he returned the call even though he was out of town at the beach. He stepped my husband through the steps necessary to reset the hot water heater and now it works! What a guy! We are so glad that we are able to work with him. read more

Highly recommend... job was completed quickly with expertise. Left work area clean and were very professional.

Quick service and very reasonable price on new kitchen faucet and disposal. George Calabrese and his helper got this taken care of in short order. Will go to them when I next need plumbing work. read more

This plumber was amazing! He's the best contractor I ever had! He came in and identified the water leak and fixed it in 10 minutes. And he didn't charge me. Who does that? Only the most professional most honest contractors do that! He'll get the job done and won't take advantage of you. The plumbing GOAT if you ask me! Call him if you have a plumbing problem! read more

Today is the second time I've used Calabrese Plumbing. They are dependable, knowledgeable, and fair. The response I get from them is very quick, even during a pandemic! They are the only plumbers I've ever used that I feel like they're treating me as an important customer, not someone who is going to fund their sailing and skiing habits! read more

Hands down, the best plumber and service person I have ever worked with. Good ole fashion American honesty! Not only is the work impeccable, but they maintain cleanliness and are very friendly. Simply, trust them to do great work. I've had four different services completed with this company so far. My neighbors have been using them for over 10 years. Let them do their job and you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend them to anyone needing great plumbing work! Thanks, George and team! read more

George (the owner) of Calabrese Plumbing is the best! He is honest and reliable. Amazing customer service and great personality.

George arrived as expected and quickly determined that the water spot on my kitchen ceiling was not from the second floor shower above the kitchen, but from multiple pin hole leaks in a copper pipe above the ceiling. George replaced the section of pipe with the leaks and my problem was solved (of course I have to get the ceiling patched and painted...George doesn't do that). I highly recommend George Calabrese. read more

George sent two guys who cleared our stopped-up commode but took away a riser seat that I was using. I'm disabled and can't get up without that extra three inches of height. His advice: his guys didn't take it away - just look around for it. Now I gotta use a john on another level until I can order a new one. Maybe someone else will discover where my old one went. Conclusion: George good, his team notso hot. read more

I have availed myself of Calabrese Plumbing's services three times in the last couple of years (most recently last week) and each time the experience was exceptional. They always recommend the best materials and parts (tip, take their advice, twice I called them in to replace inferior parts and installation from a different plumber), and the service is always professional and courteous. read more

Called Calabrese on a recommendation, Ben and his assistant repaired a leaky drain pipe in our laundry room. They were very professional and did a great job. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to highly recommend them. read more

I had an appointment today at 8:00AM. George showed up exactly on time. I had a water pipe value that needed attention. George fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. He was not going to charge me! Ben from Calabrese Plumbing did our new kitchen rough in and installed disposal and faucet. Excellent work, efficient, and left our kitchen spotless. Absolutely A+. They also installed a hot water heater for me last year, also a great job. I will not be using anyone else. They are great read more

I called Calabrese Plumbing on a Saturday after having a pipe burst under my sink. George answered my call. Unfortunately for me, he was on vacation. However, he asked if he could FaceTime me to look at the problem. He looked at problem, diagnosed it and then proceeded to give me 3 recommendations of other plumbers he recommended in the area since he was not able to do the work himself. Even though I ended up not using him, you can bet if I have ever have another need for plumbing, he will be the first person I call. Thanks again! Even the plumber that ended up fixing the problem was impressed and took his name down for recommendations. :-) read more

Super fast communication. Fair and upfront pricing based on job. No surprises besides the fact that he was on time!

Ben & Cory of Calabrese Plumbing installed a water heater at my Vienna townhouse today. They were extremely efficient, organized, tidy, and courteous. Would unquestionably use them again. Thanks for a great experience, guys. I should add that it was a joy to work with George Calabrese, the owner, in arranging the job and for advice (gratis) he had provided on another occasion. My kitchen disposal wasn't working. It would make a humming sound every time I turn it on. I called George Calabrese to do the service. He himself gave me detailed tips to see if I can solve the problem myself. George, with your guidance, I was able to solve the problem. You have gained a future customer. Thank you so very much. read more

I would like to add my positive opinion to all the others on Yelp. George Calabrese answered the phone himself, when I called. He listened to my description of the problem: hot water coming out of cold water taps. He diagnosed the problem as a worn out mixer valve in the shower and came and fixed it very promptly. He is tidy, efficient, reliable, and friendly and his prices are reasonable. Alleluia! read more

Calabrese Plumbing is a local, family owned business. When II call, George answers the phone himself, listens to my problem and arranges to come to my home as soon as is convenient. My husband once broke a pipe on Thanksgiving day and we had water spewing everywhere! We called Calabrese Plumbing and George told us what to do to control the potential flood then came out to our house to look at the problem!! At no extra charge!!! I highly recommend this company for anyone looking for fairly priced, professional, quality service. read more

Ben Anderson, of Calabrese Plumbing, arrived promptly, determined the problem quickly which turned out to be a bit more difficult due to some historic "amateur" plumbing; Ben went the extra mile, explained what needed to be done and patiently worked on the problem until it was corrected. He was patient, friendly, courteous, conscientious and very knowledgeable about his trade and he says he enjoys being a plumber and a trouble shooter. NB: Calabrese Plumbing is located in the City of Fairfax; they do not serve areas east of the city. read more

I have been in my present house for 20 years, and I regret that I've only met George recently. It would have saved me countless hours of headaches and inferior service. I had a large leak that George worked with me OVER THE PHONE at 530 AM to help me investigate, stop the Leak and restore service to my house. He's never worked with me before and demonstrated professionalism and care, as if he new me for 20 years. He will always be the first person I call with any concern. Thanks George! read more

I emailed George Calabrese at 6am after discovering a leak in my dehumidifier valve. After a couple of back and forths on email, he called to discuss the problem I was having and suggested a fix I could do myself before spending money on it as he was booked a week out. The fix worked and I was done by 7:30 and could go to work as normal. You can't ask for a more honest person - refreshing these days. Thanks, George! read more

Finally joined yelp. While here I have to post about George. Everything the Mylene, Jane, and Charlie posted is true. After his first visit I knew he'd be my go-to guy for plumbing until I move away or he retires, whichever comes first. He's replaced my pressure regulating valve (a very reasonable cost, just like for Charlie), replaced my sump pump when it died (left the place cleaner than when he arrived), and fixed a couple small items along the way, often not charging for a quick visit between other jobs. Try to find THAT with any other plumbing outfit here in NoVa! He does return calls himself, so you might have get voicemail when you first call ... but he is prompt in calling back. I've also noticed ... he doesn't rush the job or interrupt his conversation with you just because his phone rings. He never makes you feel like he can't wait to get to the next job they way some providers do. It's clear that every customer is important, every time ... and he really takes pride in his work. read more

I cannot recommend Calabrese Plumbing too highly: if you have to have a plumbing problem, at least you know who to call! Their response time is excellent, work is done expeditiously and professionally. George answered the phone himself, Ben did the work on our small but important (pressure release valve) problem, George called afterward to make sure that we were happy with their work. Which we definitely were. read more

I usually hate reading the reviews that start with "i didn't use him but...." yet, here I am writing that exact review! When we woke up Sunday morning to about 50 gallons of water in our basement do to the sudden failure of our 23 year old water heater we didn't know who to call. We tried some of those big name chain companies and quickly new that was the wrong idea. So we checked consumers checkbook and found great ratings and reviews for Calabrese plumbing and gave Mr. Calabrese a call. First things first he answered! which we found was a rarity on Sunday mornings. He was booked till Wed but facetimed with us to be sure we had stopped the leaking for the moment and then gave us the name of a plumber he highly recommended who he thought could get out to us sooner. He wasn't interested in just making money from a job- he actually wanted to help fix the problem even if it meant giving our business to someone else! So I can't speak about his work only his honesty, helpfulness and integrity! If we ever need a plumber again we will definitely call him again! Also, the plumber he reccomended seems equally as helpful and honest- read more

George Calabrese was outstanding! He came faster than any others could promise, on New Years Eve even though it wasn't an emergency. He only uses the highest quality valves. He insisted on wearing shoe covers even though I invited him not to. He charged significantly less than other plumbers were quoting me. Most important, he did good work. He even stayed for a few minutes longer at no charge and coached me through some other plumbing repairs that I wanted to do myself. An all-around nice guy. Would definitely recommend to others. read more

I had a hot water heater blow out on me yesterday and I panicked because today is a holiday and water was covering my basement floor. I check some reviews online and came across Calabrese Plumbing. I gave him a call and he came out and replaced it. The service I received was way beyond my expectations. George was very friendly and clean. He did not leave foot prints every where or make a mess. He was very well spoken and answered all my questions. He did not try to up sell me on anything and took great care of me. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that has a plumbing issue. He left my house cleaner then when he came. You are truly a great worker and person. He also gave me suggestions on how often to flush the heater so that it doesn't build up stuff on the inside. Thanks for the superior workman ship!!!!!! read more

Several months ago George helped me to solve a problem over the phone even though I was not a past/present customer! George provided the best estimate for a water softener removal and re-piping. Ben did a great job with removal and George came back today to assist with disposal of the unit. Pleasant and professional. Great experience. George is my go to plumber now! read more

While visiting my daughter and family in Fairfax, we had some bathtub leakage and also some water-pressure issues. We had contacted George, who's very responsive via email. He showed up as promised (to the minute), quickly identifying the problem, and took care of it. He also explored our pressure issues and took time to explain why and what options we could figure on if we wanted to increase that pressure. George charged far less than we had expected or, certainly, than he could have charged. So: professional, honest, reliable, knowledgeable -- whatever our future plumbing needs, there's no doubt we'll be calling Calabrese Plumbing. read more

I first used George a few months ago, to replace an exterior faucet that had frozen and split, along with several smaller jobs. I got three estimates for the set of jobs. My previous plumber had said the exterior facet could not be replaced without removing and then replacing some heating system ductwork in the basement. One of the three new estimates disagreed, but instead suggested removing the basement ceiling in that area, which would have required hiring both a carpenter and electrician. A second suggested capping the faucet and installing a new one a few feet away - a location that seemed to offer easier to access from the basement. George began with that approach, but when he got into the job discovered that it was not possible, given details of the house structure and ground level. Instead, he managed to replace the faucet in the original location, which everyone else considered impossible. In addition, his bid was near the lower end of the scale, though not at the bottom. More recently, he replaced my water heater. The old heater had been installed when the previous one broke and flooded the area, damaging the carpet in an adjoining room. Despite that history, the heater had not been placed in a floor pan. George automatically used a pan. He ran a line from it to a nearby drain, checked the drain, and snaked it out when he discovered that it was blocked. This is an example of his perfectionism. It is typical of his work, though I won't take the time to detail other examples. Apparently, he believes in doing the work RIGHT, rather than just good enough. What a joy to have a plumber who is an extremely competent perfectionist! I recommend him highly, unless I happen to need him at the same time you do, in which case I suggest you hire someone else. read more

I had George replace my water heater after he was able to diagnose the issue over the phone on our initial call. I had replaced the cartridge in our shower faucet a couple of times due to a drippy spout and it was only a matter of a few months where the issue returned both times. With the second time, I noticed my hot water pressure had declined significantly so I gave George a call. He suspected that something must be clogging the hot water line and proceeded to ask some questions about my water heater. As it turns out my older Rheem water heater had known issues with the dip tube disintegrating over time and pieces of it would get sucked into the hot water line to cause the issues I was having with the shower faucet. He gave me some instructions to confirm this was the issue, since he could tell I was fairly handy and sure enough I removed the cartridge and could see some white plastic substance stuck in the hot water line of the shower faucet. I sent him a picture and described the material over email. He confirmed that it was dip tube. He did all of this over the phone and via email, talk about great service! Due to the age of the water heater it was only a matter of time, so I had him replace it. No issues since. George is very knowledgeable and wonderful to work with, and he truly provides top notch service. He got the job done right and at a fair price. Thanks George! read more

I was very impressed with George - he is very very professional, friendly, responsive to communication, and cleans up meticulously after his work is done. Very fair pricing, prompt, and just generally great to work with. Highly recommended! read more

George (the proprietor and sole employee) of Calabrese was great. I had a leaking pressure regulating valve, and he provided a very reasonable cost estimate (for Northern VA, at least) for replacing it. He showed up on time, was courteous and clear about what he was going to do, and completed the work in a very timely manner. I would not hesitate to call Calabrese again. read more

I've used George a number of times and have always been very pleased with his service. This past week, however, stood out. I got a panicked call from my son that the shower handle had sheared off and the shower was running. I had them turn off the house water and got home about 7pm to look at it. The thing was actually broken, so I called George. George was at dinner with his wife and fully booked for the following day. He asked to look at the situation via facetime and then told me what to do in order to fix it myself. I went to home depot, got the part he told me to and installed it according to his instructions. When I got things done and reassembled, there was basically no water coming out of the faucet (but at least it wasn't leaking anymore). I texted him and he said that it was probably debris from the previous cartridge, and to turn the water back off, take the cartridge out, and clean out the innards of the valve. I did that and all worked great! Got everything put back together. George insisted that I text him back and let him know how it went, which I did. He called me the next day to make sure everything was still ok. This man can't be beat! Thanks, George! read more
