OMG, this business is legit! I placed another order because we had such a great experience a few years ago. Usually when a business does a grat job the first time your expectations going forward are typically higher than the business can achieve. I have no idea how Marriah, Rhonda, and the team do it but they manage to continue to exceed every expectation I have. I ordered an Italian cream cake with Bavarian cream for the filling. This was based on their recommendation. The cake looked amazing and tasted even better than it looked. The Bavarian cream kept the cake from being too sweet and completely complimented the other flavor as suggested. They communicated extremely well and were very timely in answering my questions. I recomm this business / team to anyone who wants great service, food, and an outstanding experience. Thank you Cakes Couture! You really made my wife's birthday special.

I signed up to buy my nephew's wedding cake. I was behind on finding a bakery. When I reached out a month before the wedding date I was nervous. The cake tasting was amazing. Super friendly and professional. The wedding was this past weekend July 24th. The cake was beautiful and tasted amazing.. thank you for being part of my nephew's wedding.

The bunny was a little wet because it was raining outside but it still came out good!

They did a super fantastic job on my son's first birthday cake! We had a Peter rabbit theme and they just nailed it! A must go to place!

I was hoping I would not have to leave a review like this but no one has reached out to me after leaving message on the delivery form, wedding coordinator calling, or me emailing after my daughter's wedding on February 26, 2022. I have put pictures of what the cakes should have looked like and what was delivered. When I meet with the wedding cake coordinator she told us how excited the owner was to decorate cakes with a mountain theme and wanted to use them for advertising. I was so embarrassed by the groom cake. The look of the cake from color to mountains and not sure what was on top of the cake. Why would anyone think that is worth 400 dollars. I think a third grader could have done better. The delivery lady just kept telling me this is how we do things and that it is final sale even if you are not happy with the product. I just wish she would have reached out to us and that I did not have to leave this review. From visual to the taste of the cake it would received 0 stars on the grooms cake. Now to the wedding cake I asked for no ribbon on the cake at all but after set up you can see ribbon was put on the cake. When I brought it up the delivery lady again told me this is how we do it. So I guess they don't care what the bride ask for is what I got out of that. I asked for the ribbon to be taken off and the cake to be fixed. She removed all ribbon except the bottom has it was hot glued on. The taste of the icing was off on the wedding cake so for that I give it 4 stars out of 10. All in all very unhappy with the two cakes and the customer service that was received. My grandparents owned a bakery and so I had multiple people that was retired from doing cakes at my wedding that was helping me hold it together as the mom of the bride. I just wish she would have told me she was unable to do the cake then trying on the final cake. Please think twice before using them for your very very special day.

Awesome little walk-in bakery. There were so many goodies to choose from! The cakes in the case were beautiful too. We tried the cannolis (so good!), the sticky buns and the sausage rolls (kolaches here in central TX). We will definitely stop in again next time we are in town.

    Tasting Box

Tasting Box After seeing this business owners' television interview, our family felt the urge to give them a try and help out a small business. My daughter will be getting married in the fall so we called up the bakery to request a tasting box to sample their wares for wedding cakes. The initial price was 35 dollars, but because we requested a marble cake sample, they charged us $30 dollars more. I agreed to pay the extra because I knew the groom's favorite cake is marble. When we opened the box, we were all highly disappointed at the amount that was included. Does this box look like a $70.36 (tax included) amount to you? Not to mention, the marble cake that we spent an extra thirty dollars on, was an end piece and smaller than the rest. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess. It would seem that if a business was vying for future business, they would offer their best, as a selling point. We have not had our tasting yet, so I will update this review soon.

The customer cakes are outstandingly delicious and created with heart. Besides the wonderful cake I got a s'mores cookie and a carrot cake. The cookie was great the flavors were tremendous, if you go I recommend this one. The carrot cake was equally delicious and great with a cup of coffee. Furthermore, the final cake looked absolutely nothing like the photos Communication was incredibly disorganized. The day before the wedding, she called to ask if I had the flowers for the cake, even though I had already paid her to provide them. She also called to ask if we needed delivery, which was also already paid for in advance. When I addressed these issues, she was very rude and tried to blame the mistakes on graduation week--which is completely unacceptable given that I booked and paid well in advance. I would not recommend this business to anyone

The bakery has old-world charm...old school display cases and shelving along with the quintessential bakery smell. You are immediately drawn into the bakery web. Definitely an ole school bakery... Naegelin's is known for traditional German baked goods, including apple strudel, kolaches (both fruit and meat), German rye bread, and its iconic pink-frosted Lebkuchen cookies. According to bakery staff, many recipes are still based on formulas developed generations ago. I purchased apple strudel, oatmeal raisan cookies and a piece of cheesecake. All were good, however, the strudel was the standout. The bakery also offers a wide range of breads, cakes, doughnuts, and seasonal items, making it easy to find something regardless of taste or occasion.

I've had Gigi's before (in San Antonio) and I don't remember if I truly liked their cupcakes then, but I must have not thought that they were so bad not to return. But I guess now I can confirm that they aren't my favorite cupcake. Reason being is, gasp, there is just way too much frosting...trust me, I cant believe I'd ever say that. I got a strawberry shortcake cupcake and while the cake could have also had a softer texture (felt a little too dense), the frosting was overkill. Don't get me wrong, I always love a cupcake with more frosting than cake, but this one just seemed more off balance than I'd prefer. Yet, there were plenty of customers coming in that day to pick up pre-packaged orders, so it could just be a "me" thing, or maybe the folks of Bee Caves prefer their cupcakes on the sugar high side! In Austin, Cupprimo ranks supreme, followed by a good ol' Sprinkles cupcake. The frosting to cake ratio of Cupprimo's cupcake is comparable to Gigi's, but what makes Cupprimo's better in my opinion

So for a bakery to get a 5 star from me, they must be doing something right! I got to taste Joyce's cake and meet her in person at a recent Yelp Unofficial Event (UYE) I organized for the Chinese New Year. Joyce attended the UYE and graciously brought a triple chocolate cake she made in her own kitchen! The cake was an instant hit at our event. I personally appreciated the cake for being not overly sweet. If you know me or read my reviews, you will know I hate things that are too sweet!! But that chocolate cake was just right! If you think I gave her bake shop a 5 star b/c she gifted our event a cake, then you are so wrong! I have personally done business with Joyce to warrant my truthful statement. So when I heard about her macaroon offerings, I placed an order immediately. I've tried other business in town for macarons but wasn't satisfied. I had to try Joyce's version b/c she specializes in French baking! The macarons were $2 each and they were great. I got so many flavors and my personal favorite is the almond one b/c it was light and delicious! But Joyce thought they weren't her best so she offered to change up ingredients and let me try more! Geez! I got to know Joyce on a more person level when she came to hand deliver my order. I learned that she is very passionate about baking and her dream is to open her own bakery! But for now she bakes everything in her own kitchen and strives to provide the best products with limited space and resources. What impresses me the most is Joyce's professionalism. She prides in her baked goods, genuinely cares about her customers' satisfaction and constantly seeks feedback to improve her baking skills and products. So if you order from Joyce, you will know for sure that you are dealing with a honest business and are eating cakes with the best ingredients she could possibly find (no butter and no preservatives!). I also had the pleasure to try another cake and some Lebanese cookies from her for my birthday (thanks so much to Luly!). The cake was so pretty and tasted great! I only wish I had more room to eat one more piece of cake after a big Bday dinner. The cookies were so light and refreshing. My favorite is the one with date. The pistachio one probably needed more work. But where else in a city like San Antonio could you find Lebanese cookies, seriously? Most recently, I had the pleasure to try Joyce's Macaron cakes in cup! What is that, you might ask. I didn't know either. It is a new item that Joyce came up with when she was trying to save the macarons from turning soggy. Genius! It is a hybrid of macaron and cake served in a cup! We all know hybrid food are so popular nowadays from Cronuts to Ramen Burgers. This macaron cake in a cup tasted so fresh and natural, not overly sweet at all! WOW! If you don't believe me, ask Chef Roland at Stella Public House! He got to try this new invention as well and raved about it!!! In a bi-cultural city where you are either tex or mex, other culture and food is a breath of fresh air! Joyce's cake bake shop is a great example of bringing diversity to this city! With Joyce's international cultural background and her vision, passion and unique approach on baking, she must succeed! And if a business like Joyce's bake cake shop prospers, then I will have more faith in San Antonio moving towards the direction of becoming a world class city!

You will not regret ordering a cake from Joyce. I will absolutely order more cakes from her in the future and recommend you do the same!
