OMG, this business is legit! I placed another order because we had such a great experience a few years ago. Usually when a business does a grat job the first time your expectations going forward are typically higher than the business can achieve. I have no idea how Marriah, Rhonda, and the team do it but they manage to continue to exceed every expectation I have. I ordered an Italian cream cake with Bavarian cream for the filling. This was based on their recommendation. The cake looked amazing and tasted even better than it looked. The Bavarian cream kept the cake from being too sweet and completely complimented the other flavor as suggested. They communicated extremely well and were very timely in answering my questions. It has taken me 2 weeks to compose & write this review From my interaction with Rhonda, she was bubbly & pleasant to get my business. I paid 50.00 tasting fee for flavors not on her popular list, OK whatever. I sent her a picture of her advertised cake & clarified after contract, the inches didnt look like they matched her picture by cake Scale size from picture so I sent a picture make sure we talking same scale & comparison but cake was way way Smaller upon delivery, I mention this and she tries tell me size is correct. We are setting up reception hall so What can I do but roll with it. Wedding cake quoted was $450, I get contract and it doesnt include flowers, then I learn it wont be real flowers or editable flowers (she say it would be too heavy) ok. I had pay paid an additional $140 for silk flowers. But, The flowers were not in color scheme of wedding. I told Rhonda the color in picture would work fine & I also emailed over some of the colors. Ok agian, let me get over that. I ordered a groomsmen cake as his military retirement cake, an additional $200. it looked nice but after Rhonda came and set up cake a piece had fallen off, our ceremony was only 30 minute; it was the flag part of military cake ceremony was over part of the cake. Ok, another thing but I'm trying roll with it. I sent Rhonda quick text like hey What to do & This is where it starts go downhill: Her Response: "Have a server put it back on or Throw it away" It's a flag on a designed military cake, They tried secure it with few tooth picks but fondant thick so didn't work. I said Rhonda, It will be bad for photo Ops, she said, Photography already took pics when I was setting up, Ummm we weren't in those pictures, we werent formal then, it was setup, rehearsal and walk thrus so missed photo op with us in a finished cake. Ok, let me focus bavk on ceremony. Yeah, its cake cutting time of the actual wedding cake, Unfortunately it was difficult to cut the cake, we moved over thinking we must be on a riser (that connects the cake) No, moved over and the Other part was also hard to cut, we finally got a slice and when pulled cake out, it just fell apart. I sent Rhonda pictures of the crumbled $650 cake + the video when the audience went "Awww" at the 2nd slice cake cutting attempt, I then sent her video clip when 1 of the audience guests said "What type of cake is that." The cake was falling apart. Rhonda said, it must be knife. I sent her closeup pic & said its a cake knife with the cake server. She then said, why u didn't have the server cut the cake. I looked at the phone... Aren't the Bridal couple the one who does the 1st cut and that is where problem lies. Rhonda then said, I can't be at your entire event to watch your cake & your contract says, I'm not responsible after I leave. I'm beyond floored & disappointed because, if im sending you real time proof of our experience on a product I paid 50+450+140+200=$840.00 Next words would be What you said Couture Wedding Cakes New Braunfels, TX where I paid money upfront for, didn't say, my final product would fall apart, be hard to cut, then crumble and collapse!! It was alot of cake left, I threw out big chunks of 3 of the tiers. I was embarrassed, disappointed & hurt. The hurt part came in after reaching out to Rhonda & she did say I apologize but then followed that when basically it's my cake knife fault or User error. I said, very kindly, Rhonda I would like some form of compensation recovering some money back. NEVER heard from Cakes Couture I want do good business with people, who Stand by a product. I didn't ask for a full refund, She basically disappeared after. I communicated the issues. Again, this has really upset me becuz, She started out Great & then we bought into the I come to you, I will offer an anniversary cake free, which we are not going back for Do formal business where it will matter most with a company Who will work to make it right & That wasn't my experience with Cakes Couture, for this I do not recommend (your big day is too important) Severely disappointed read more

Very disappointed. Cakes Couture was recommended to me by a party planner. After meeting at a location for a tasting and talking about cake options with Rhonda, I ordered a tiered two layer cake with German chocolate as the top layer and Italian cream as the base layer. I requested a cream cheese icing on the Italian cream layer, specifically mentioning that I did not want a buttercream icing. I also asked that the German chocolate cake layer be infused with Kaluha by injecting some directly into the cake. Disappointingly, the WHOLE cake was iced in BUTTERCREAM. The Italian cream layer did not have any visual coconut or pecan pieces in the cake and the icing was not cream cheese. The German chocolate layer was not infused with enough Kaluha to taste in the cake and did not have a gooey coconut, toasted pecan icing. Neither cake layer represented the typical type I had requested. The cake was very small and barely fed the number of guests, 35, each getting a very small slice of only one flavor. The cake was paid for in advance. I initiated all contact throughout the process. A week before the event, I texted Rhonda to make sure she was still able to make the cake I had requested. She responded no problem. I feel Rhonda did not remember the cake I had ordered or did not care to provide it the way I requested. I am not able to replicate the special day I planned the cake for. I feel no care or consideration was given to provide the cake as I ordered. A friend also ordered and prepaid for a wedding cake and a grooms cake from Rhonda, 4 months before her event. The cakes were to be decorated with various brands. My friend sent Rhonda a picture representation of the cakes decorated as she wanted along with pictures of each brand and how she wanted them iced onto the cakes. The wedding cake she received on her wedding day had the images of the different brands she had sent individually cut out of printed paper into squares and attached directly to the cake with icing. Squares of paper with an image of a brand "glued" directly to the cake. The groom's cake did not have any brands iced onto the cake. The brands were iced onto the serving plate. So unprofessional. There is no way either situation described can be redeemed, repaired or rectified. I do not recommend Cakes Couture and strongly discourage any one from using her services. read more

I had asked for brands on my cakes and this is what I got pieces of paper with brands drawn on with a black permanent marker and stuck on the brides cake and on the platter of the grooms cake and my cake topper on the grooms cake like it was iced on when it was to go on the top of the brides cake and the roping topper was to go on the grooms cake!!! My cakes were very childish, shotty, distasteful of a job for cakes that I paid 2000.00 for!!!! horrible service as well..showed up for delivery of cakes at 5pm and my wedding started at 530pm. Never returned my coordinators called for confirmation of anything...was suppose to be at the wedding at 3pm for set up and I had over 350 guest and these cakes were not enough for that many guest and she left a sheet cake for over flow which I DID NOT ASK FOR....horrible service and cakes for my wedding!!! So disappointed - the wedding cake picture my daughter had requested to replicate and the cake she received - not close to resembling each other - we had an outdoor wedding - requested that cake be delivered around 4 to 5. it was delivered at 1 and set up. 2 hours later the cake collapsed and had to be cut up into pieces - so needles to say no cake to cut with pictures - if you call they don't answer the phone you go by their shop and they have been evicted from their shop - So disappointing - I would not recommend this bakery for a wedding unless you enjoy being disappointed read more

I was hoping I would not have to leave a review like this but no one has reached out to me after leaving message on the delivery form, wedding coordinator calling, or me emailing after my daughter's wedding on February 26, 2022. I have put pictures of what the cakes should have looked like and what was delivered. When I meet with the wedding cake coordinator she told us how excited the owner was to decorate cakes with a mountain theme and wanted to use them for advertising. I was so embarrassed by the groom cake. The look of the cake from color to mountains and not sure what was on top of the cake. Why would anyone think that is worth 400 dollars. I think a third grader could have done better. The delivery lady just kept telling me this is how we do things and that it is final sale even if you are not happy with the product. I just wish she would have reached out to us and that I did not have to leave this review. From visual to the taste of the cake it would received 0 stars on the grooms cake. Now to the wedding cake I asked for no ribbon on the cake at all but after set up you can see ribbon was put on the cake. When I brought it up the delivery lady again told me this is how we do it. So I guess they don't care what the bride ask for is what I got out of that. I asked for the ribbon to be taken off and the cake to be fixed. She removed all ribbon except the bottom has it was hot glued on. The taste of the icing was off on the wedding cake so for that I give it 4 stars out of 10. All in all very unhappy with the two cakes and the customer service that was received. My grandparents owned a bakery and so I had multiple people that was retired from doing cakes at my wedding that was helping me hold it together as the mom of the bride. I just wish she would have told me she was unable to do the cake then trying on the final cake. Please think twice before using them for your very very special day. read more

A little late on the date and doing a review as my reception was on November 13th, 2021, and I am doing this now because they baked me a 1-year anniversary cake of my choice! How cool is that and I chose a German Chocolate Cake, and it is amazing from the taste to the presentation! My Story! My previous person making my wedding cake cancelled on me 2 months before my reception and luckily, I found Cakes Couture! It was easy ordering my cake with Mariah! It was a pretty straight forward order without having to taste the cake prior to purchasing and glad I did. A week before my reception they called and confirmed date and drop off time. The day of reception they delivered on time, and I felt bad cause our table was high and the delivery person did a great job putting it together on a stool! Kudos! It was exactly what I wanted, and it tasted great and had a lot of compliments from the design to the taste! Thank You! I can't find a picture but here is a description of: 2 tiers - 1st tier was 6" with 3 layers of vanilla cake with mix berry cream filling 2nd tier was 8" with 3 layers of chocolate cake with mix berry cream filling. It had a chocolate ganache drizzle with minimal/bare icing on the side! This fed well over 55 people with leftovers. It was a great decision, and you should giver this place a try! read more

Tasting Box After seeing this business owners' television interview, our family felt the urge to give them a try and help out a small business. My daughter will be getting married in the fall so we called up the bakery to request a tasting box to sample their wares for wedding cakes. The initial price was 35 dollars, but because we requested a marble cake sample, they charged us $30 dollars more. I agreed to pay the extra because I knew the groom's favorite cake is marble. When we opened the box, we were all highly disappointed at the amount that was included. Does this box look like a $70.36 (tax included) amount to you? Not to mention, the marble cake that we spent an extra thirty dollars on, was an end piece and smaller than the rest. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess. It would seem that if a business was vying for future business, they would offer their best, as a selling point. We have not had our tasting yet, so I will update this review soon. read more

Super expensive, dry, sometimes not cooked thru cookies. It's mediocre. You can get delicious kolaches at bucees for half the cost. The muffins are dry or partially really cold as of they were frozen. The cookies I last purchased were not cooked thru and partially raw dough. It's a cute store though! read more

I called last minute from Oregon to get a small cake delivered to my son for his Birthday who just got stationed in Texas. He has only been there for about a week. He is in the Air Force and just got back to the USA from being deployed in Cyprus for 2 years. His wife and baby are in California until he can get their new house set up so he is alone in an empty house on his Birthday. I ordered a custom BIRTHDAY CAKE for my 3 and 4 year old's party this past weekend. I paid $130 for this cake and it was less than perfect honestly it was sloppy. I was able to contact the owner of Cake Couture and simply wanted to let her know the cake had some imperfections and to please contact me. I provided pictures of the areas of the cake that were messed up and the response from the owner was absolutely awful and i was accused of damaging the cake while it was in "route" to my home. After being accused of damaging the cake i asked the owner to please provide me with pictures of the cake proving her words of the cake leaving her business intact and "beautiful" and the only pictures she could provide were of the front of the cake. All of the flaws were on the back and sides of the cake. I can promise you if i had damaged the cake myself you would have been able to see where it hit another object since this cake is made of smooth icing. I would absolutely not order anything from this business if you want quality product with good customer service. I am so disappointed with how she handled the situation and how she responded to me as the paying customer. I wasn't expecting a refund but i also wasn't expecting to be accused of causing the damage to my own child's birthday cake. Do yourself a favor and do not order anything from this place! Found Cakes Couture during the pandemic attempting to find eggs, flour, and sugar when these items were a "no-go" at the grocery stores. What a wonderful gem we stumbled upon looking for basic necessities! My mother ordered me a birthday cake from here, and it was by far one of the most exquisite cakes I've ever had...beautifully decorated, loaded with the most delicious buttercream icing, gigantic in size (but not in price), etc.... As far as birthdays are concerned, the cake was always my first priority; this place totally made my day!
