MIL organized our baby gender/sex reveal and ordered a dozen Vanilla filled with blueberry compote cupcakes and they were a hit! Overall I enjoyed both cupcakes I got (a colorful buttercream on chocolate and strawberry), but the strawberry maybe tasted too much like a box mix for my liking. I know a lot of bakers use a box base, no shame, but it needs more of a deviation from that flavor for me. The gal behind the counter was helpful enough, but what stood out for me was how cute the bakery was decorated for Valentines Day. I appreciate the nice touches like the neon sign and having a table reserved for maybe a tasting? which really told me the owners appreciate and welcome their customers far more than hourly staff. Purchased a birthday cupcake and a chocolate chip cookie from the tin can alley location. The cookie was hard- too hard to bite into and crumbled into small pieces when I tried to break it in half- dry and old. I asked the sales person if it was an old cookie. She said yes. I explained that the quality was not good, and she began explaining that different bakers at the main location means the quality is different. What? Nothing like loss that either makes you want to go hungry or binge-eat. Before I left to Texas I decided to try and eat, something. I decided on desserts. However, the idea of driving anywhere was not an option. Thus, I looked up desserts that deliver. Cake Fetish is one of few options (paleta bar is my go-to). Here's the deal: 5 items came to $21.58. Plus tip and delivery $32.07. I would have got 1/2 dozen or a full dozen for near or far more than what I paid but YOU CANNOT CHOOSE your own without more up-charges. They have preselected choices if you want a lot of lemon or chocolates, go for it. Not my first selection so I'll pay more to get what I want. The German-inside-out cupcakes were moist, fresh, usually made with a light chocolate cake but this was rich chocolate, but the coconut cream inside offset the richness. The keto brownie was good but super small, should be called a "bite." The velvet-Elvis was more chocolate with red food dye (that's disappointing) but the cream cheese frosting was good and the boyfriend liked it. The very-vanilla would have been very good if it wasn't very stale. I left the Sleepless in Albuquerque to the boyfriend altogether after the dry cupcake. He said it was good, tasted like coffee and.... you guessed it CHOCOLATE CAKE. I guess I'm just disheartened that I spent the extra money to avoid chocolate and to get fresh options and they fell short. But at least I can now say, "I've tried it." When I'm ready to travel about with a happy face, maybe I'll give it another shot. Perhaps deliveries are given the old batches and if you go to the shop you get the fresh batches. I ordered twice from here. First time, I called to order the cake and they told me to send an email to them regarding the cake. I sent a message about 3 weeks before the event. I didn't hear anything from them until I called a week before the event to ask if they received my message. They gave me a quote and I received the cake. It was okay. Nothing extra special about the cake. I had another event coming up. I sent an email about a week and a half before event. I once again did not hear anything. I called about a week before event and talked to a lady that said "oh she flagged this email so she will respond to you either today or at least the end of the weekend." I said okay. I waited. And waited. And no email. I had to contact another bakery in town just in case Cake Fetish comes up with the "it's too late now" excuse. I ordered the cake from the other bakery 4 days before event with quick and easy service and never heard back from Cake Fetish. I still have not received anything from Cake Fetish. This place is a quiet lot, not too many stores and plenty of parking. If you have a sweet tooth, this place is for you!The mini cupcakes are super delicious! The cupcakes are fresh and flavorful. We were impressed on how flavorful the cakes are. Unlike grocery store cupcakes, we can definitely taste the frosting, there are specific flavors to each cupcake. The cake is moist, my favorite would be the vanilla based cakes. The prices are reasonable. We just wish that they open on Sunday. There are different flavor cupcakes on different days. A good cupcake place! I travel all over and every major city has at least one cupcake place - I tried this one since it was close by to my hotel and it was pretty good. I tried two flavors: Red Velvet - a good version of the flavor favorite. It was a bit more chocolatey than I like but it was still okay. Half-Baked - a chocolate chip vanilla cake with a cookie dough center and vanilla chocolate chip frosting. This was a great and really unique idea...very enjoyable...a great cake version of the ice cream flavor. Many have said that the cake is a bit dry, which I do have to agree with. They even have the APS Goldbars which are AMAZING by the way. Those are actually decently priced at $2. The cupcakes, however, are a different story lol. I felt they were pretty pricey, BUT you sure as heck get what you pay for. These may be the best cupcakes I've EVER had, thus far. They're super moist, nice & soft. Perfect texture, delicious all around! The sweetness is perfect because it's not overwhelming. The cakes are good but the real treasures here are the frostings. Both of the ones I sampled tasted exactly like ice cream! Crazy! I had the Birthday Cake (vanilla cake topped with chocolate buttercream and a maraschino cherry) and the Grasshopper (chocolate cake topped with mint buttercream). Birthday Cake: The crumbly cake was moist and slightly dense with a robust vanilla flavor that had a hint of sweetness. The silky smooth chocolate buttercream had a milky sweet chocolate flavor that tasted exactly like melted Breyers chocolate ice cream. Awesome! When I was growing up I always had vanilla cake with chocolate ice cream at my birthday parties so this really is a birthday cake cupcake. Grasshopper: The chocolate cake was moist, but it had a fairly rough texture (maybe due to refrigeration?). It had a moderate dark chocolate flavor. The mint buttercream was absolutely fabulous. It was light and fluffy with a buttery mint flavor. It didn't have the sharp (almost acrid) bite of fresh mint, so I'm guessing that they used mint extract.
