Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake: Fresh raspberry on top of a somewhat firm chocolate frosting. There was chocolate cake underneath, bit it was a tad dry. Black Forest Cupcake: Whipped cream on top and fresh cherry. Same dry chocolate cake base. Purchased the lemon blueberry and strawberry cupcakes and they were old. Frosting was hard on both and cake part tasted very old. $4 each for a very small cupcake that is days old. I wanted to love Cake Daddy but after I took a few bites from 3 different items that I purchased, it seems that Daddy went limp. So what they offer is basically cupcakes and cake slices. I did see avocado toast and cinnamon rolls as well. My picks were the blue berry lemon cake, the pistachio cupcake and the chocolate cupcake. I let them sit as instructed before eating and I ate them with a friend. We didn't get wowed. There were some pluses, not overloaded with sugar. I don't like the idea of food colouring in baked products and these were loaded with it...did it shave another 2-3 years off of my lifetime? I don't know. Would like to see better quality here. I'm always suspicious of the first 10 or so people leaving straight 5 star ratings it feels like friends & family took over the spot. Customer service was top notch, super friendly and fun. Please keep in mind that they have a closing time Monday to Friday as of this writing for lunch. Also if you don't make it by 8pm, you won't be having your cake & eating it too. read more

Well, the day has finally come when cake Daddy is opening. They did a soft opening on Friday and Saturday, which I believe they will continue on Tuesday in a ramp up to a grand opening in May. Folks Victor Calderon can bake. I have bought a few of his cakes For special occasions over the past year and they have been truly exceptional. They are beautiful and delicious and are so substantial they feed way more than the number he modestly says. And he did all that from the kitchen of his apartment. Now he's opened up on Wilton Drive Wedged in between Chef, nates and ethos, in a pretty pink shop, called cake daddy. You can still order custom cakes, but now you can buy slices, cupcakes, and cookies to satisfy your sweet tooth without having to wait for a significant occasion. Stopped in for the first time today after hearing positive things from friends. They're not wrong!! Friendly, bright, happy, efficient place right on the Drive. To break the ice, I got 2 cupcakes, coconut and carrot cake, to take with, and a half brownie/half chocolate chip cookie to eat on the way home. Reader, all were superb. The cupcakes were beautifully presented in a crush proof carrier (I politely declined the paper bag). Everything was fresh and flavorful and not cloyingly sweet like you get from a mass commercial bakery. There is obviously a lot of pride in product that goes on here. It's not cheap - this isn't Publix, thank the gods - but not expensive either, and in my opinion, a necessary indulgence in these times. Go treat yourself - you deserve it!! read more
