I've been visiting Cais 20 since 2016 and the food NEVER disappoints! The garlic bread is outstanding, sangria sweet and inexpensive, steak on a stone cooked to perfection, and mixed skewers delicious! Friends in our parry got monk fish stew, octopus skewers, and seafood and rice. All were a HUGE hit. Pros - huge menu, outstanding food, accommodates large parties, inexpensive Cons - no high chairs for the kids, very long wait times (even with reservations, we didn't put in our drink order until over an hour in)

Stopped here twice . First time we were not that hungry so we just had wings and a chocolate coconut dessert. Both were very good especially for the price. Lunch today was a huge pan of grilled octopus and a small appetizer of local limpets. Both were tasty and well prepared . It was a beautiful day .. a little windy so we sat inside by window. A beautiful view. Our waiter was very sweet although as typical here it was hard to get check at end and we had a plane to catch

This is THE place to go!! The owner and all the servers are so wonderful and friendly. They will help you and explain everything. There is SUCH a large menu to select from and from all the plates my family tried, it was so flavorful. My favorite were the Oysters, hands down. We got more than an order, but everything was seriously cooked to perfection, and came out so quick! Even with the restaurant being a little busy. Lot's of seating available and again, a friendly and welcoming. I will definitely return and you should definitely try!!

You have never been on this island before, yet you want to eat like a local? You want to hang out with the locals? Well, this is your place. The place is in no way fancy, yet they put out some very delicious pristine seafood at very reasonable prices. Also, the place is open till 4am. Can't sleep, and you're still thinking about the great seafood you had the other day? Problem solved; this place is legendary for serving food into the wee hours. During this pandemic, if a place has outdoor seating, then I'm requesting it. Well, their outdoor seating area has a great view of the ocean and a constant breeze from it as well. When I visited, they were slightly slow with their service because the place was jam packed and had a constant line of locals to get into the place. Once I received my food (mackerel with red spicey sauce, olives, bread, and chourico), yes, I can now understand the fuss to get in. The food is very good and worth the hassle of waiting in a line, then waiting for a waiter to come around to take your order. Under the circumstances, the wait staff was very nice and apologetic for the slow service. I typically don't like waiting anywhere for food. But this time I didn't mind. This is eating with the locals in Sao Miguel at its best!

The service is good. Food is very overpriced and low quality. The fish soup was more a stew. Heavy on rice, creme de marisco was bad. Not a smooth cream soup and the flavor was off. The kebab was tiugh as naiks and the filles horse mqckerel was not good. The salad seved with the dish came with half a raw onion??????Not returning

Beef special

Great service. We asked our server for recommendations and he did not disappoint. Big portions!

Mushrooms and cream 'sauce'

Friendly staff but terrible food with good presentation: undercooked potatoes in fish stew, half cold and powdery shellfish soup, very hard sirloin in a skewer, mash potatoes taste like flaked potatoes puré and champignon and cream sauce is basically canned mushrooms in raw cream. Never again!

This place was so good and convenient we ate here 3 times during a weeklong stay on Sao Miguel! It's open late, with ocean views and feels like a diner but with exceptional food. There is a kids' play area in the restaurant and it's a short walk from a nice viewpoint of the islet nearby. The staff were all very friendly, and most spoke English. The menu is giant and includes a lot of Azorean items that were on my list to try during my trip. Every time we were here the customers seemed to be having a great time, and we never had to wait for a table. Food highlights: Bitoque - fried, garlic-y steak with a fried egg on top (we ate this twice). Boiled shrimp - these are served cold with shells and heads on and were delicious. On the menu the 20/30 shrimp are bigger, 80/100 are smaller. You order the shrimp in grams so we asked our waiter to bring us an appropriate amount for two people. Sao Jorge cheese - 3 wedges of the most delicious cheese, comes with a perfect pairing of pineapple honey. Grilled lapas - this was the only place I tried these, but they were great and seasoned well with garlic, butter and parsley. The fish soup here was my favorite out of all the fish soups I tried on the island. Caipirananas - a caipirinha cocktail made with azorean pineapple. For dessert: cinnamon ice cream made on site was great, as well as "Grandma's sweet". For two people's food and alcohol our bills ranged from 30 - 50 euros. If I could give this place 6 stars I would!

Seafood rice for 1. Big enough to share! Filled with spiny lobster, crab, mussels, and whole prawns

The fried octopus was the best dish. At least two octopus in the dish and tonnes of potato and peppers. Enough to feed 2-3 people. The seafood rice, which can be ordered in a half portion, was filled with spiny lobster, rock crab, and prawns. Very deeelish. They serve the São Jorge cheese. Very nice and strong in the milk butter and grass flavor. Portions are huge. Didn't make it to dessert.

This was our last meal in Ponta Delgada, and our most expensive. Was the food good? Yes, but I'm not sure it was worth the extra price tag, and you'll find some equally enjoyable meals elsewhere. Also, the "view" was the selling point for us, but we were sat at a table far away from the water and got no view. Make a reservation for sure. Our's was for 7:30pm, and by 7:45pm they had a full house. The menu is huge, and although this is billed as a seafood restaurant, you'll also find your share of red meat. Steve D. went with the mixed kabob as his entree and loved it, and added a steam veggie bag to the side. Brad C. went with the "cook your own steak" option and really enjoyed the whole process (tip - utilize the pineapple they give you to give your steak some sweetness). Keith H. and I shared the seafood rice, which could honestly feed 4 people lol...and Jessica G. created her own "light bites" dinner with olives, salad, soup, cheese. Overall all of the dishes were good....but again, not worth the extra $$. Of course our final dinner meant we had to get dessert - the lemon pie, the pineapple cake, the passion-fruit mousse and the chocolate pudding cake. None of these were standouts to me, and we had better desserts elsewhere on our stay. We took the long walk home to our hotel, and really enjoyed the scenic running path. Also, make sure you climb to the view point just east of the restaurant before dinner!

Service was good, ordered the usual local fresh cheese, chef's garlic shrimps, and the grilled limpets. All the appetizers was pretty good, but not the best we've had so far on the island. For the entrees we ordered the traditional tripe, seafood rice and the grilled tuna. The tuna was tender and melted in your mouth, the tripe and seafood rice were bextremely salty. It was just too difficult to eat. Our fingers was swelling up just after a few bites and couldn't get enough water. But the is not a uncommon issue. Any of the "stewed" traditional dishes are super salty in most of the restaurants. I felt like I was a big piece of salted cod after how much salt was ingested from the entrees.

One thing to note is that their operating hours are not M-F. I've added a picture of their time so just make sure you if you want to eat here, that it's within their hours of operation. Their sangria was very good and not too strong. I ordered the grilled squid with garlic sauce. I posted a picture of it. They gave me alot of squid and even took out the cartilage to make it easier to consume. The taste was good and not too fishy. The food was great and not that expensive either. So glad we decided to come here.

Thus I cannot attest to their full plates. But I can with their smaller ones, and each one is a winner. Every meal in the Azores will be preceded with bread and cheese. O Corisco's was the best we had. Most places do the typical mushy and bland queso fresco that gets old quickly. Here they provided us a plate of hard cheeses and tons of bread, which were so good we didn't leave a crumb on the plate. Their Caldo Verde soup with diced linguica is pretty darn good, as is their small place of fried linguica and mushrooms. The highlight here though is their little lounge area near the big-screen television. It's not just a restaurant, but also a place to chill. Beer is cheap too. What is not to like?
