I've been going to the IBD clinic for going on now 11 years. I originally started seeing Dr. David…read moreSchwartz then. I was going through some stuff and didn't know what it was. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and they were able to get me on a treatment plan. I am happy to say that I'm in the 10th percentile which doesn't have much of an issue with their disease. Each year I have an appointment here and every two years a colonoscopy. As my health has gotten back on track, I went from seeing Dr. Schwartz to Julie Wagnon, and now I see Caroline Duley. Each of them have been amazing. You can tell that they really do care about your health and you as person. The office is located in The Medical Arts on the second floor in suite 220. The office staff are always friendly and helpful on check in. The office waiting room has a bathroom, as do each of the examination rooms. The rooms also have tables to lie flat on with stirrups, I (unfortunately) have never gotten to use them. This clinic is excellent. I cannot say enough good things about the people who work here. If you have any bowel issues, these people are here to help you.

Long story short, I was tested, scheduled for a colonoscopy and assigned an IBD team - a group of professionals who handled me gently and thoroughly. From a dietitian, psychologist, nurse practitioner, gastroenterologist, pharmacy supervisor, lab technician to nurses and clerical staff - I was introduced to all, spent time with each and began my treatment plan for moderate/severe Ucerative Colitis. Without going into more personal detail, I can not say enough about my care and treatment at Vanderbilt. At all times they have been supportive, interested, concerned and professional and have helped me to achieve the beginning of remission. They take time to educate me about my disease and my options and they take time to pay attention to my emotional needs too. They do understand that this is a life changing and chronic illness and they help me to get the best treatment available. They have worked well with my local general practitioner to coordinate all of my health care needs, and with my local cancer care clinic where I routine receive infusions of medication for my disease. I am pleased with Vanderbilt, my doctor, Dr. Robin Dalal, nurse practitioner Julie Wagnon and some members of their staff. I would not hesitate for one nano-second to refer Vanderbilt's Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center for any and all gut related issues.

This is my first experience with Ascension Medical group after my primary doctor switched her…read morepractice to Ascension (the previous medical group closed). Given my experience with "attempting" to contact my doctor for a NEW prescription, I am prepared to change from my primary care doctor to another doctor NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ASCENSION. I tried to call the "office number" for a NEW prescription for an infection. The phone prompts do NOT allow me to speak with the doctor's nurse or any other medical professional. Prescription "refills" can take up to 72 hours (after the prompt to contact the pharmacy first) however, this was not a refill but a new prescription. Medical questions (leave your name and number and reason for calling) can take up to "24 hours for a response". There isn't an avenue for a patient to access a remedy from the care provider for a new prescription other than the phone prompt of calling 911 or visiting the emergency room. I find the service and care provided by Ascension group to be beyond a massive failure enough so for me to consider changing my primary care doctor, someone that I hold the utmost respect for the care and attention she personally provides. Ascension Medical facilities is the definition of FAILURE: failure of care, failure of due process of access to care and failure of simple telephone response to medical questions and/or needs (72 hours for prescription refill and 24 hours for response to medical "question" is an absolute insult to the patient!)

This has got to be the bottom feeders of Medical groups. Today I have been Trying for over three…read morehours to get registered on their portal. I have used every email address I have had since 2008 non are registered as patients. I have talked with three different customer service people, and FYI be prepared, English nor Spanish is not their first language so listen very carefully and if you ask them to repeat be ready for attitude. Their menu options are 1. Payment 2. Insurance update, 3. Itemized statement 4. Charity form mailed to you 5. If you are an insurance CO or 6. customer service. Now which one of these would you think could help you. Try NONE OF THE ABOVE. I was told by one to redial the number for the Doctors office, I told them that was not an option on the 833.263.9791 number they insisted it was, I read them off and asked which one 1-5 cause they were #6. We got disconnected. Shocked? Not really. Another CSR was trying to be helpful and after I named 5 email addresses it could have been, he did identify one. NOPE not the right one. I have CT test result I really need to get and my Dr is on PTO, deservedly so no qualms with that. My issue is with the group and how it is managed and the lack of customer care. Now they are good at sending you a bill, you'll get that almost before you get home. and notice of the first 5 phone menu options have to do with PAYMENT, which is their primary concern or so it seems. I tried a different route, call the office number. Yeah, I left my name and number and birth date. Have I heard from them?? NOPE. I have been with my primary care Dr for 15ish years. This is by far the WORST group she has been with. New Patients keep looking this is not the place for you. Unless you are totally bored and have nothing better to do than wait and wait and wait and get the run around then get more run around. Or if you love frustration, maybe your job isn't providing enough, then this is the place for you.
