I have also sent two follow-up emails requesting clarification regarding my purchase, but have received no response. In 2026, it is not reasonable for a company to provide no communication or confirmation to a customer after a purchase has been made. We've bought several shrubs and plants and have always had a great experience. This last purchase was off the charts though. Our friends purchased a tree of our choosing for a memorial to our mom. A beautiful Carolina Sweetheart Redbud. The staff was excellent to work with, scheduling our delivery and planting. Planting day actually arrived sooner than expected. The guys were courteous, friendly and so knowledgeable. They did a fantastic job answering questions and explaining care. I will definitely continue shopping there and will have them plant additional purchases in the future. read more

We have been going to Cahoon Nursery for a long time to buy our cut Christmas trees. They are pricey but the trees are fresh and lasted pretty good through the holiday season with daily watering and an additive. So after we moved out of the area, we decided to purchase some Green Giant Arborvities and other plants for our new house in Medina County. We purchased 15 six foot tall Green Giant Arborvities and had them installed and paid $4,000+ for this job. One died right away and they replaced it. At that time I told them others were not looking good. They did not say anything. Shortly after, one by one we had 4 more die. As the next one died, we went back to town and talked to them and they could not find our order in their system and said the others were not covered under the warranty. So that was $1,628 that we lost. I also purchased 3 pussy willows. I was told that they "grow like weeds". One was a present for my friend, and the other 2 we kept for our yard. From the get go, there was nothing but problems with them with bugs and they looking half dead. I bought more product to try to save them. They were NOT covered by the warranty. Now they are dead as doornails! (Another $130. down the drain. Total loss at $1,758.) Also, it was an embarrassment to give someone a present that died quickly.) Each time I went, I bought more supplies; fertilizer, top soil, wild flowers, (which were not looking too good last year. Hoping they come back this spring.) Prior to this purchase we had purchased 15 Norway spruce trees from another nursery outside of Cuyahoga County which were installed in the same general area that we had the GGA planted, and every one of them has survived. So I know it's our soil or lack or watering on our part. Unfortunately, we will not be shopping there again because of the poor quality stock and the bad warranty. We believe the second batch of Green Giant Arborvities we went back and picked out, as we increased the amount we wanted planted from the origianal plan, were a bad batch. Then they sat on the lot for months as we waited for them to be installed. So beware if you are thinking of purchasing Green Giant Arbovities or Pussy Willows at Cahoon Nursery. Also check out their warranty because you might need it!!! read more

Very nice nursery. It was my first time at this nursery and initially I didn't expect that I would buy the tree from here. From outside, the place looks kind of small. When I really walked around, there were plenty of healthy, good looking trees and plants. The staffs and service here were phenomenal. John was the staff who came to greet me when I browsed for the red maple tree. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He told all details that I should know to grow and take care of the tree. Before coming to this place, I always shop at Petitti's. After this visit, I think I'm gonna come to buy plants from here more. Definitely a great local nursery to visit. read more

OMG I would give this place 10 stars if I could...there are many things they go right...the vast selection of flowers, trees, shrubs, mulch, soil is the best in the CLE area. The labeling and descriptions they provide of each item is super helpful. The friendly resident black cat will magically jump in your cart and want her ears to be scratched :). They have many things that other garden centers don't have. And someone will load all of your purchases into your car. So, why 4 stars instead of 5? Because I was there a good 45 minutes, and no one said hello or asked me if I needed help. Granted, I like to meander by myself, but it is still nice to be asked if I need help with anything. read more

I recently purchased 6 trees from them and they offered to deliver them on a holiday... Great service, great knowledge, great prices.... Sure you may be able to save a buck at the big resellers BUT you will not find the variety or the quality that Cahoons has. read more

Cahoon's used to have an excellent hosta stock and I've noticed it dwindling over the last few years. I bought 3 plants this spring and tested them for Hosta Virus X. They tested positive in a big way. For those not familiar with the virus, I highly suggest you do some research. It is an increasing problem in the hosta community and it looks like the virus has hit Cahoon's. They accepted the plants for return, but they were not pleasant about it and they implied that they were aware that their plants are infected. I don't mean to be overly dramatic, but bringing an infected plant into your garden could infect all of your other plants if you're not careful. Cahoon's seems not to care much about that and is therefore putting all of our gardens at risk. read more

This nursery was the MOST amazing place in Westlake while under the watchful eye of its prior owner. Customers were treated well. You never needed question any knowledge that you received there. Since 2011, this nursery has had a new owner. The entire atmosphere of the place has changed in a negative way. A nursery should put one at ease, as well as provide a wonderful plant selection. These days the plant selection is "meh," BUT, the worst part of the change is the new owner. His behavior is erratic, on good days. On bad ones, he's a walking time bomb. The glory days of this Westlake landmark are well behind it. Maybe we'll all get lucky and it will change owners again soon. read more
