Saw that this nursery does a train exhibit until December 32, so brought my granddaughter to see the trains. She Loved it! As did my dad (her great-grandpa and her papa). We had so much fun walking around looking at all the detail! So many different themes! Of course, I had to buy a,few things too. A bee wind chime for my granddaughter had a remembrance chime for my dad to put on his patio. Fun time with the family! Highly recommend. I'll be back in the spring for flowers ! read more

I ordered a bulk amount of mulch and my landscaper, who recommended this nursery and endorsed them as being reasonable and reliable, was surprised to see that they did not deliver the full amount of mulch ordered. I spoke to the owner of the company, who denied that this could possibly happen. He didn't ask for a photo or offer to see if, in fact, the mulch was short of the amount ordered. He simply stated that my landscaper was mistaken and that he never "shorts" customers. I am not suggesting that they purposely "shorted" the order, but clearly, they did yet they made no effort to address or reconcile the issue. Needless to say, my landscaper will never recommend this business again and I, too, will not hesitate to malign this company and its poor customer service and unprofessional business practices. read more

Swore by the tomato plants sold here and was my go to nursery. Prob will not return for two years in a row the plants I purchased were not the variety they were labeled to be. I take great pride in my tomatoes and there are varieties that are a must have. Will need to find somewhere else for next year. read more

A great nursery in the neighborhood! Puritas Nursery is a great place to go if you're looking at sprucing up some outdoor plants. I really enjoy their summer selection of flowers- most recently, we bought a petite hydrangea from them. Having no clue how to plant a hydrangea plant into the clay soil that is characteristic of the city of Cleveland, the people at Puritas were helpful in telling us what to do. We bought compost and gypsum- who knew that gypsum was needed to break down the clay soil? Our hydrangea plant is now doing beautiful- who knew anything that could go in the rock hard soil of Cleveland? Additionally, the trains that they put up for display is amazing during Christmas time. It's every little boy's dream. They set up their back room full of train displays- it's free, but they also welcome donations. They have all types of trains and all type of different train displays. You can even crawl through crawl spaces under the trains- it's a great train display and it's so nice they offer this! We look forward to it every year. If you're looking for some great outdoor shrubs/plants, definitely make a stop at Puritas! read more

I usually really love this place, but recently, I'm not so sure. Something I purchased here had spider mites in then. Either my lavenders or the soil I purchased. Now, the mites have spread to at least one other of my indoor plants. I've had to repost, hose down, and neem oil spray all my plants, hoping that was enough to save them all. Now I'm constantly worried my plants have bugs and are suffering. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back here, which is such a shame, since this used to be my happy place when I needed a little pick me up. read more

Choo choo! They have put together an excellent & extravagant miniature trains display. Not something one would expect from a nursery. They have a whole indoor nursery length detailed miniature town, city, stations with tunnels trees little people mechanical rail crossings that operate along the train cars. The display is complete with fairgrounds with functioning merry go round even a Ferris wheel. There are inter weaving train tracks that run steam engines to diesel replicas. They even have trams. For the little tykes they have built crawl tunnels that go underneath the massive display. This place is strictly on donation based visit. In short if you have ever ever liked to see build and or see miniature train cities check out this seasonal attraction. I think they were recently featured on Fox 8. As a nursery their offerings are always good - various seasonal plants to a very helpful & knowledgeable staff. The plants sold are always healthy and taken care of well. This year however, I was not very impressed with their poinsettia collection. read more

To the person (Kaity G) regarding her car being towed. I was there with my girlfriend for about two hours looking around for flowers and as we were leaving with our beautiful arrangements, your car was still there. I know it takes more than 5 min for a police tow. Your car was towed because you left it all day without permission to go shopping somewhere else (by your own admission) so there's no one to blame but yourself. In regards to your lie about dying plants and nothing to choose from my observation was that they were all healthy and buyable and many plants to choose from. If people are going to believe one lie from Kaity g then they should come look at their selection of flowers and make your own opinion. Staff is also wonderful, helpful and friendly. read more

Very friendly staff. Have been here a couple times. Last time, I bought a hydrangea and it is still thriving (in the summer, that is). This time, we enjoyed the train display while shopping for our poinsettas. Staff are also knowledgeable about plant care if you're not a green thumb. Seems like they do the train display each year and have a Santa event. Nice to have something community friendly in the neighborhood. read more

No one offered to help. I had to find and ask two employees for the price of an item. I then trekked back and loaded up my cart. When I returned to the check out, I was told a very different price (double found elsewhere). The merchandise is deserving of better signage, responsible employees, and accurate information. Wide variety of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and I saw water lilies in bloom. They even had herbs and vegetables this late in the season. Shop here they are a local neighborhood based nursery that sources most plants from Lorain County growers.Where are the cash mob people? I'd hate to see them close. The only thing the hours posted here on Yelp are not correct. Call first. Take a drive down Valley Parkway and turn East on Mastick Road. Seems like Mastick turns into Puritas there at Grafton Road. Great alternative to Gale's (pretty much wiped out for the season, although many near dead plants were marked $2-$3.00 yesterday) way nicer than the people at Cahoon Nursery plus better parking. read more
