Our Day 5 walk on the Camino Ingles was easier on the elevation, but still fairly long at 24 km (15 miles). The last stretch into Sigüeiro took us past our evening accommodation (Pension Vilanova), through an industrial park, and along several blocks into town. Gayle was exhausted and crabby, and no matter how slow I walked, she fell further behind. We finally arrived at Café Restaurante Mirás, each ordering the Menú del Dia, while starting out with a nice cold beer.
As with other cafes on the Camino Ingles, it was a relatively inexpensive meal and good food, in generous quantities. We also ran into a few Pilgrims that we met on the Camino, who were thinking the same thing food-wise. However, they had arrived a little earlier and seemed more rested after checking into their accommodations and taking a shower.
Cafe Mirás is on the Camino and we passed it as we walked by the next morning. However, for this Day 5 afternoon, our next stop after our meal was the Taxi stand for our ride to our Pension. It actually wasn't that far, but everyone has their "no more" point during a long hike. read more
