After our long journey to Santiago had ended, I was looking forward to going to a top-notch dinner. On the Camino de Santiago, as I wrote in another review, you really experience warm, honest, home Dash style cooking, and it's wonderful. But, you don't get incredible gourmet stuff, and we heard that for Galician specialties, this was the place in Santiago to go. We knew we were on the right track when there was a line of people outside before the place even opened, people definitely "in the know!"
Despite not having a reservation, we got seated and for the next one hour were treated to a mind blowingly tasty and very reasonable meal. We started with the cheese and jam tweet from my photo, paired with their local house red wine - they went to get a perfectly. After that my two friends and I tried local veggies, farmhouse chicken, and a soup. The ambience of the place is just super delightful, cozy, and personal. The staff knew exactly what they were doing, really seasoned professionals.
All of it was so awesome, that we truly bad for our other "Camino friends," who had decided to go eat dinner elsewhere that night. They sent us a picture of some burgers... We knew coming here was the right decision. The entrance is just a hole in the wall, but you've just got to find it. read more
