more like 3.5, but i'll start this place off with 4 stars. at first i felt sorry for the owner and…read morethree local old guys when fifteen of us loud and obnoxious 20 and 30-somethings stumbled in as the second stop on a pubcrawl. but soon i realized she welcomed our business as we bought round after round of 15kr beers. she even gave each of our tables a plate of shrimp chips and took some phone photos of us being ridiculous. hopefully not to be used as blackmail at a later date..

You need a tried and true fantastic neighborhood bar, like the 540 Club in San Francisco, and this…read moreone is it! Pauline was the first and still is the best bar tender I have encountered here. She speaks English, Danish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and probably a lot more of a few other languages. Her way with people is something to witness since she is so gentle but runs the place like a boss. We've been there many times and one of my favorite experiences was having the opportunity to see the Underberg truck set up close. Love that stuff. All of the drinks are great and it's a place you can go to relax and be yourself no matter where you're from. Not only that but the regulars are also welcoming and when you start buying drinks for each other there are all sorts of awesome things you can learn about local experience, much less the country. You need to stop in at the Bassinet and say hello in whatever language you prefer to Pauline and have a couple rounds at this wonderful cave of pure chill. Hoping to go back tonight. Don't forget to bring your tender a small gift, if you want to be regular ;). I haven't been there on days when other people work yet, but it's THE place in this neighborhood to have a pint and be social or hide in a corner cruising on the WiFi. Can't recommend this place enough. And if you're and early bird, head over to the cafe across the street for an excellent cappuccino first. Romina over there is also an incredible multilingual person who creates a great atmosphere and will fix you a great (non-alcoholic) drink. My favorite corners in Østerbro! Enjoy :)
