I'm so sad !
The service was wonderful , the presentation was lovely, and I was quite excited to try the Beef tartare (tartare de bouef) as the last one I had -although in France-was superb!
The salad was incredibly fresh : the mustard pearls (I don't know if they are really called pearls, pods, or something else ) made for a deliciously balanced tangy dressing. The frites (fries) were perfectly salted and I had to be careful not to eat too much of the accompaniments before delving into the main dish: the beef tartare.
Although the plate was complied beautifully, I noticed that the hue of the meat seemed darker than typical tartare . I ate it anyway , and immediately felt disappointed . The beef was too chewy to eat . I tried and tried , but the meat was tough as rubber. Hopefully this was just a bad night, and the chef typically makes better meals. read more
