I LOVE an extravagant, late Saturday lunch, don't you? My visit to Colette was one of these... order a wine, get a starter, munch on the delicious pre-starter bread, indulge in a fantastic salad entree and just slowly enjoy it all. Mmmm...
I ordered the french onion soup to start and it was almost perfect. Not too salty, just the right amount of Gruyere cheese and lovely dark bread chunks. Yum and very satisfying. Then I had a caesar salad that was also really delicious. I'm not an anchovy fan, and they were plentiful on this Ceasar, but I was able to work around it just fine and really enjoyed the salad with shavings of delicious Parmigian cheese and crunchy bits of bread.
The wine was great and the atmosphere is nice. I really like the open kitchen at the back and the long bar in the center. The seating feels a little awkward, but maybe only at lunch when there aren't as many people filling the open spaces. I would definitely hit this French bistro-ish place again. Really good, not cheap but not ridiculously priced. A-Ok!
Oh, and the service was good as well. Kudos Colette! read more
