This place was about a 10-15 minute walk from the place we were staying (you can take bus), when we got there they greeted us and the place is so cute! We sat outside and they had cute tea pots on the tables with sugar cubes in them, my family and I ordered quiche with salad, fruit tea, chocolate cake, and crumble! We walked from the train uphill 15 minutes to this cafe with amazing views (FYI you can take a bus up). It's a super cute cafe. We got there before noon so only baked goods and coffee was available. Still worth the walk. The slow service is expected, but it felt like you were inconveniencing them by asking questions. Not great. We ordered 3 berry crumbles and 3 cappuccinos. It was 60 fr. Expensive for what it is, but it was delicious and very fresh. 3 stars because of the service and expense. read more

One of the most memorable parts of our trip was Cafe 3692! Friendly staff, fantastic food & gorgeous scenery...we spent 3-4 hours here, eating & then taking in the scenery. They also have the most amazing preserves/ jams for purchase. My personal favorite was the apricot & thyme preserve. The owner & the staff were so friendly towards our little pups. Next time we visit Switzerland, we would love to stay in Grindelwald instead of Lucern. read more

Came here after watching YouTuber raving about this place. Don't bother coming here if you are a tourist. It's a hike to get there. We had a car, so it's not a problem. Arrived at 5pm. The waitress walked past us twice without greeting us. We waited a good 5 minutes before she acknowledged us. We got a seat and wanted to order dinner. There is no English on the menu. The waitress asked what we wanted, and we told her maybe burgers. She says, " We close at 6pm. We only have soup and salad." At this point, I just wanted to get up and leave, but we chose to give the soup and salad a try. My wife had that, and I just had a coffee. Small cup of coffee. The house salad was nothing to write home about. The vegtable soup tasted like it was can soup from grocery. The bill came out to be 38 Swiss francs. Not sure how this place gets 4+ stars. read more

Whilst visiting grindelwald we decided, mostly based on Google reviews, to visit here. We stayed for breakfast and ended up coming back for a late lunch as it was beyond phenomenal. Small family run, very good English spoken, the food needs to be tried to be believed, very polite staff, most foods are either grown/reared on the property or locally produced and the views from the terrace/deck are beyond stunning before starting your day out! This is hands-down the best place to eat in Grindelwald. The proprietors are very friendly, and they prepare unique meals using interesting combinations. We had the house salad, which included lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, pineapple, bananas, cheese, and much more. We also had the special, a cordon bleu, which had a side of asparagus and strawberries--a really delicious combination. One of the proprietors is a carpenter and designed the inside himself, and the ceiling is gorgeous. It seems as though it is largely a local spot, as we were the only foreigners, but this is certainly worth the walk a little bit outside of town! read more

This place is a gem. The atmosphere is quaint and interesting with a carpenters handiwork displayed throughout. The food is AMAZING. They only have a few choices but it didn't matter. The mixed salad was fresh and wonderful with mango dressing. I ordered the Osso Bucco which was so tender and tasty. Save room for dessert! I had the chocolate torte with apricots and ate every single bite. I recommend the Swiss wine to accompany the meal. Wonderful place. read more

This place is really special. It's a bit out of the way, but that's a benefit because it doesn't get crowded by a lot of tourists. There are only around 30 seats at tables and just a few at the bar. While it's open daily for bkfst & lunch, it's only open Friday & Saturday for dinner. We arrived without a reservation(a mistake) but were lucky to get seats at the bar which is a converted woodworking bench built be the owner, Myriam's, husband Bruno who owns a woodworking shop across the street. They both speak English well, run a terrific restaurant & have a fantastic pastry chef, Francie! She bakes for bkfst & lunch too. The menu is limited to just a few entrees, but the 4 the night we ate there were all great. My wife had a local white fish over risotto and I had an incredible tender pork fillet from a local butcher, served over grilled apricots & garlic/herb bread. They have very nice wine & beers on tap, as well as espresso & great pastries. The price was very fair for the quality received(less than 50CHF per person). We are planning to go for lunch during our stay here in Grindelwald. Highly recommend this place!!! read more

Definitely the best meal I had in the Grindelwald area. The chicken cordon blue was good and the side of sauteed asparagus with strawberries even better. Some great home made iced tea to wash it down made it even better. They offer a few regular dishes on their menu like a burger as well as a regular and vegetarian daily option. My fiancee and I were staying near by and this place was recommended to us by a local. The weather was nice so we sat outside on a nice patio overlooking the Eiger and surrounding mountains. Inside is just as nice and decorated with carpentry made by the husband of the owner. Everyone was very friendly. Wish I had known about the cafe sooner and would have visited more than once. read more

This place is excellent. We so enjoyed the food and service. Everything was well prepared and served with style. The dinner menu is limited to about 5 entrees though with a nice selection of fish, beef and chicken. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. The owner spent time chatting with us which made our evening complete. Highly recommend Cafe 3692. read more
