Towering over is the famous St. Mary's church, so the Hungry pumpkin is perfect for tired tourists or city wanderers. The interior itself is warm and inviting, so i quickly sat down and was pleasantly surprised at the variety on offer. I ordered a cappuccino and a salmon panini. The coffee itself was a beautiful Italian arabica, coated with chocolate powder and served with a small Italian biscuit on the side. Absolutely delicious. The panini was packed with smoked salmon and goats cheese, and was very tasty. Price wise, it was similar to most cafes. I ought to try their full breakfasts next time, they look great. We went for coffee and after waiting some minutes which was OK as they seemed busy, the waiter served three couples who had arrived after us and ignored us. This may have been because we were squashed into a corner and he couldn't get to us without disturbing other clients. The tables are far too close together. We eventually had to call him and ordered camomile tea and a dry cappuccino. These duly arrived. The tea was lovely; fresh not teabag and in a teapot. The coffee?! Well, actually the flavour was good. But it wasn't even a normal cappuccino let alone a dry one. It was the sort of milky coffee my mum would have loved! Then I had to clamber through the doors into the main area to use the toilet as I coldn't get out! They were only OK. A very noisy air flow unit and not spotless. Oh, and they weren't busy either- only 6 or so people! They haven't been open long so I will give it another go soon. I wish new places would offer a review card. I was far too frustrated to ask to talk to anyone! xx

My friend had bacon and eggs on potato cakes and my partner chose the pantry dish aka sausage beans, bacon , mushrooms, tomatoes and pancakes oh and a egg of his choosing. To drink I settled on a boozy choc orange shake, others had a flat white and strawberry smoothie. All the drinks were perfectly made albeit I dropped cream all over myself.. but wow the food! Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned and just full of flavours.. even the baked beans had smoked paprika a other spices to zing it up. All fresh and made in front of you. Vegan and vegetarian options are available and they make delicious hot chocolate and coffee! Either charge less for the portion or give more food for the price. I had a cocktail whilst waiting for food and it was amazing. It had a meringue foam and was chewy and liquid at the same time. The lay out was a bit odd we were seated on a two person table and it was too small once the food arrived and the wall it was alongside had people walking up and down constantly as I assume the toilets were there. Would be better to just remove those tables and put them somewhere else. There was a lady I assume from management looking over paperwork and getting into a heated discussion with a man this is probably best saved for when customers aren't in view of it and can hear you. Maybe get an office for these discussions. I liked the quirky layout and all the individual pieces of art work etc on the wall. It added to a grown up Alice in Wonderland feel.
