I'm glad the yelp app directed me here as I would have struggled to find something else suitable just from looking round the part of town I was in (it was too early to justify the waffle shop or the chocolate shop facing each other further up the road). Plus I didn't fancy dining in the hotels we walked past on the seafront. The staff were welcoming and very efficient. We were directed to the back as we were a table of 7. Considering that's a large group for a cafe they managed to produce everyones' different hot meals very quickly and very closely together. I was surprised and impressed how well they did. The food was to a high standard too. I enjoyed my retro ham, cheese and pineapple toasted panini with coleslaw and crisps. It was proper homemade coleslaw, not the vinegary type that is way too common. Everybody else seemed happy with their food too. There's a pretty large menu with all usual suspects for a cafe and also a few Polish dishes. They also do more full dinner type meals as they're open in the evening too.

The Rabbit Hole is a Social Enterprise set up by Aberconwy Mind to provide real work experience and training for "people who are experiencing or have experienced mental health issues" All profit is put back into the charity to continue delivering valuable support, training and mentoring for their trainees. It has a lovely atmosphere and being down below street level it is like entering into the world of Alice with its clock wall paper. You can either sit at the tables near the kitchen or in the wonderful lounge with its rather comfy sofa and walls decorated with book wallpaper. The staff in the Rabbit Hole are lovely and polite, willing to help and explain the drinks and menus to you, also letting you know which of the foods that are available are gluten-free, suitable for vegans and if they have nuts in or not. As this was a "light" lunch, we had a lovely soup and then coffee and cake but the menu looked inviting.. The choice is great and it was very helpful of the "Rabbit" chef to explain what each cake was and what was in it. It has free wifi and I embarrassed myself somewhat by asking the guy on the laptop how long he was going to be, only to discover it was his laptop and not for general use. On our table was coffee, earl grey tea, brie and apple sandwiches, coronation chicken sandwiches, fruit scone, turkish delight scone (surprisingly epic, I just had to try it), carrot cake, chocolate fudge cake, for some reason- grapes, a bit of salad, crisps in a tea cup and a couple of little sweets.
