For one thing, they've been woefully inefficient with service on both of the mornings I visited. People wait at the counter to order for far too long, and another line of people sits and glares towards the kitchen waiting for food. For a breakfast place, speed is awfully important; most of us customers have work/school to get to and we're eating out because we want to be full quickly. They managed to overcharge me once too, but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and ruin everyone else's day by holding up the line. The menu is expansive, and vegan- and GF-friendly, and the chia pudding and avocado toast I've gotten have been quite tasty, though the bread in the latter was a bit tough, which isn't a good thing for a bakery. Honestly, some things I grade on a curve because Australia sucks at them, but breakfast is the other way around: the bar is quite high. There are two other places that consistently execute similar things better just on this street. And another prominent one I still haven't tried. So I may come back, but I have to say that while they are offering some good stuff, the price is too high and the service is too low to be rated alongside the best cafes in West End.

It's a god damn breadathon but I look at the bag it's in and it says, 'Sol Breads'. It's fairly amazing bread, I'll give em that. The staff, which seem family run, are extremely nice and the actual shop itself is really clean and well lit. It's not a grab and run sort of bakery - I could have coffee here and read a paper while chewing on any number of delicious things they've got available. The price isn't too bad, it's a little high but it's completely worth it. If you've got the dollars, definitely worth a go.

"Are you sure it's the Diva Lounge? It says it is a day spa." While we all made jokes about having a single origin delicately applied to our faces for a caffeine boosting facial, he remained adamant he'd seen food and people as he walked past. So yes, The Diva Lounge is a day spa and it sits neighbouring a cafe that has been open not even a month called El Divo Espresso Bar. We arrived at about 12:30 on a Saturday and were the only ones there, although it did get a bit busier as the afternoon wore on. There's a simple, one-paged menu and we went with the pea and asparagus fritatta (I'm still not sure about the side of Grain Waves) and enjoyed cookies and cream cupcakes for dessert. They serve Schibello coffee and my flat white was definitely more enjoyable than my iced coffee. Oh, they also do a straight cold pour over coffee, too. Next time, Gidget, next time! Overall it was a lovely way to spend an hour catching up with friends in what could have been our own backyard courtyard. With such an unassuming front signage you'd easily drive past this beauty without knowing it existed.

Can get a bit noisy from the traffic, but the decor, deck and plants provide a relaxing spot. The staff have always seemed pleasant but a bit distracted with sadly each other. The good thing is that they seem to know their local regulars. Food was nice, nothing mind blowing to rave about, but decent yummy fare. Not particularly cheap for what it is. Coffee has ranged from average to really disappointing to not to bad. I just get really disappointed when the consistancy is what turns you away from returning to a place. :( Overall a lovely spot, in a perfect location that could improve the coffee.

La Zucca Café and Pizzeria is easily my most favourite place to go to for a REAL Margherita Pizza…read more Before discovering this little place hidden away in Brisbane's North side, I was sure I would never find a true, traditional Margherita. Ever. Whichever café or restaurant I dined in, I was always presented with a cheesy, greasy looking pizza, which I simply could not finish. I was at my wit's end, trying to find the perfect pizza, and I thought I never would. Well, I was wrong. La Zucca is a small café/restaurant which specialises in wood fired pizzas. And let me tell you - they are amazing! The very first time I came here, I expected to be served the same as usual - a pizza base smothered in tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, and lots and LOTS of cheese. To my surprise, I discovered the opposite. A slice (or 6) of heaven. Okay, so let's start from the bottom. The pizza base - a light, crunchy, thin, delicious base which you can eat and eat, topped with a homemade tomato-based sauce. Little balls of bocconcini spread over the base, melted down to delicious, creamy circles of deliciousness. And to finish it off, topped with fresh basil leaves. That's it. I know it sounds simple, but that's all a Margherita pizza is, and should be. But the flavours are far from it. The mix of the tomato base, with the slight sweetness and creaminess of the bocconcini, topped with the aroma of the basil...it's simply to die for. I could eat this pizza forever. I order it every single time and even before it arrives at the table, my taste buds are tingling with anticipation and my mouth watering. I have found my happy place.

I rarely ever feel compelled to give reviews, but I feel people should know what they are in for. (TL:DR) it's overpriced burnt dry cardboard in a box and overpriced snap frozen mushy shit in a Chinese container. I ordered 2 chicken and mushroom carbonara pastas, spaghetti bolognese, chicken avocado and Camembert pizza, kids Hawaiian pizza, and a herb and garlic bread. Paid $91 dollars for two Chinese container size pastas, two incredibly thin and dry pizzas and an equally disappointing garlic bread. We were told the wait would be 40 minutes which was fine, but when we came back they told us they "ran out of chicken and mushroom carbonara" how do you run out of pasta at a pizza and pasta place UNLESS it's snap frozen. I went there specifically for pasta and would not have ordered if I knew they had ~run out of snap frozen mush~ The ($17) chicken and mushroom carbonara that we did receive was revolting, watery, mush. Barely any actual pasta in there, it was a jelly consistency with tiny bits of broken pasta. I would put money on this being snap frozen. My housemate said it was the same consistency as lean cuisine carbonara except lean cuisine tastes a lot better. The ($22) pizzas were very thin and dry with hardly and topping. Really not even worth mentioning, nothing really noteworthy to say about a nonexistent pizza. The ($14.5) garlic pizza bread barely had any garlic flavour and was just a thin and very dry crust that tasted like doughy hell. save your money eat anywhere else.
