Typical Grandio Café with a humble outside and a wonderfully opulent inside with chandeliers, marble and lots of silverwear. The barmen prepare outstanding cocktails effortlessly and are impeccably dressed in waistcoats and bowties. between 1800 and 2100 they serve a happy hour buffet with all drinks at 8-10 Euros and free foods from the region. The champagne cocktail is a must!

Cafe Torino is really something special. My cocktail - the Torino-Milano was excellent, and the food for the apperativo was really very good. But they bring you a selection of snacks rather than have you select your own, and you can't go back for more of your favorites, which isn't really in keeping with the apperativo tradition. If you want some very nice light snacks though, and don't mind having them selected for you, then I recommend it. Especially for tourists.

Best service I have EVER had, which is surprising considering how reasonably priced everything is.

During our stop, the staff seemed comprised of older men. While the staff out front seemed friendly, smiling as we passed in and out, our waiter was not at all helpful. We do speak a good amount of Italian, which turned out to be lucky as this gentleman gave no indication that he spoke English. However, he also did not try to speak much Italian. Just basically stopping by the table and waited for our order. Perhaps he assumed we would not understand him? He did however ask in Italian if I wanted my mandarin liquor warm or cold. After a long wait, he placed our drinks on the table without a word and walked away. We didn't see him again. This is the first Bicerin we tried and we were not at all wowed by it. We left with a sense of 'ok, we tried it but meh, we won't do that again'. (I did however try it again and had a much better experience elsewhere.) The value of our visit, based on quality of service and goods, would not warrant another visit to this location.

It didn't disappoint! The atmosphere is lovely, very regal and steeped in history. I recommend the gelato (which they are very famous for) as well as the bicherins, a typical Turinese coffee, made with espresso, hot chocolate, and cream.

In a city that offers high quality food at affordable prices, this was perhaps the dining experience I'll remember the most of my stay in Turin. The menu is curated and offers a large variety of Turin and Piemonte dishes; some are traditional by the book, and other ones are reinvented by Scannabue. I highly recommend the "Menu della tradizione/Traditional tasting menu", which offers a panoramic culinary view of what this fantastic city and region have to offer and, at €32.50 p/p[1] it's an amazing deal. Our meal started with Bruschetta w. liver patè and candied orange amuse bouche, and the traditional tasting menu featured: - Vitello Tonnato/Thinly sliced veal with tuna sauce and capers. - Cappuccino di baccala'; cured cod served with potatoes to resemble a cappuccino. - Agnolotti del Plin 3 meats: rabbit, veal, and pork; sautéed in Alpine butter. - Guancia brasata/braised beef cheek slow cooked in Barbera wine, served over potato pure'. - For dessert choice of Bunet/bonnet (traditional Piedmont chocolate pudding) or Panna cotta. I loved my meal at Scannabue, and I would certainly come back to try all the other dishes on the menu. As Scannabue is also popular among locals, reservations are strongly recommended. -------------- [1] 2 people minimum.

Service was gracious - host suggested wines by the glass which were very reasonably priced as was the entire menu. We couldn't consider another place besides this for authentic food from the region. The place was packed with locals and reservations are essential.
