Cafe St Pierre, Canterbury, UK - dumbfounded as to how really great this tastes!!
    Old B.

Whenever, we're in the area, we never miss this place. We'd just returned from Paris, believe me, St Pierre, was way better than anything we encountered there. Unfortunately, was raining, so we opted to sit inside, we get a table right out front. There are tables out back down the stairs, but they we're all spoken for. All the staff speak French, if you wish, but English is cool, too. And don't say anything to "she WHO MUST be obeyed," but the young ladies are rather . . .uh . . . never mind. Her Ladyship ordered one of their raisin pastries, and a cap or latte, I had a really great double espresso. Loved everything from the ambiance of the place to the people watching. I might pass it up if it's super busy, place is not huge and a limited staff, otherwise, if you are in Canterbury, start your day off here.

    Incredibly tasty soup!!

This is such a cute little cafe! Perfect for a light, tasty lunch in Canterbury. My sister had the soup of the day (I stole a little taste) and it was some of the yummiest soup I've had in a cafe for a long while. The flavours were wonderful and, though it came in a tiny bowl, the portion size was quite deceptively large. It came with gorgeous crispy French bread too, which tasted very authentic and fresh! The soup was a little more expensive than your bog-standard cafe soup of the day, but trust me, it's worth the extra few pennies!! I opted for the mushroom and cheese croissant, which was equally as scrumptious and, again, much more filling than it looked. This was cheap as well, which is always a bonus! The cafe is decorated nicely, with little French-themed bits and bobs scattered around the walls and the atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. I'd return, for sure, and probably order the exact same thing! Very satisfying lunch.
