That said, it is a bright and pleasant spot from which you can watch the world go by as you enjoy the delicious food. There is a wide range of cakes and there is usually a coffee and cake special offer available which is great value for money. The decor is a bit dated but clean and well maintained, the service is good, staff are friendly. The establishment DOESN'T accept credit or debit cards, it's cash only. The music is s bit 'ballroom' but it ties in with the history of the cafe (1932). The toilets are fresh, clean and well maintained and there is a separate disabled toilet. Overall, an excellent Sunday afternoon lunch !!!

Food varies from the usual sandwiches and jackets so pies, lasagnes etc They don't have a huge number of tables but from past experience turn around is quick and you don't have to wait very long. This is one of the more well presented cafe's and its worth a visit just to experience it They do server food until quite late into the afternoon at the weekends so if you've had a busy day and missed lunch head here for a great meal
